Found your channel 3 days ago. Went out and bought a helix 7. And watched all your videos now and was waiting patiently for a new video to come. Keep them coming great job
Really enjoy his videos, I've been watching for a long time. When I started I thought Clayton I thought he was a new fisherman. He was so excited to be fishing and he genuinely loves fishing. I just found out recently that he has been guiding for many years. If you love what you do, you will never have to work a day in your life. Thanks Clayton.
They started stocking trout this week and I've gone 2 days without a bite. Nice seeing someone catch fish ha ha. And as far as eating and fish bite I agree. My dad and I were trolling one time and any time he would reach for food a trout would hit is line. He lost so many combos in the bottom of that boat that day!
@@adamsmith3996 ya I'm in West Virginia and we rarely get ice. I loved the times I did get to fish through the ice. But ya for now im just bank fishing just with trout dough. I usually slam the trout with it. Like toss in one line and have a fish before I bait up another hook. I've seen a lot of people use jigs like that but I just dont understand slip floats. I may be doing them right and not know it but it just seems weird when I do it and I get frustrated and go back to dough bait because I know I can catch fish that way.
@@andrewruble8263 a slip float is pretty simple. Take a bobber stop and slide it up your line. You can buy either rubber or string bobber stops. Then, slide a bead up the line and then slide up your float. You then tie your hook on and add the appropriate amount of split shots. The bobber should be sunken until only the brightly coloured portion is visible. You can then easily adjust the depth by sliding the bobber stop up or down.
I've had that happen so many times, where it's slow all day, fish here, fish there. Then right when you are thinking about cleaning up and heading home, that "prime time" bite as you say, just turns on!
My brother and I have caught a couple this year over 13 1/2"s this year in Northern lower Michigan, we have a few good perch fisheries here. Nice job Clayton, great video as always.
That was so cool at the beginning with that eye... He was totally playing the bait/spoon without much interest in actually eating it! Whitefish can do that, but it’s rare for an eye.
Man just found your channel and love your video's.Stuck here in southern Ontario no ice and lock down won't allow us to travel.Getting so jacked watching your videos and been sharing with buddies.Seriously thinking taking a run to your neck of the woods when lock down is over keep up the great work.Tight lines to all.Mike.
That footage is really interesting. Never would have thought they are so finicky. Been loving your vids. Still no ice at all here in Buffalo. And gotta say it......GO BILLS !
Those were some beatiful perch! I know you almost never purposely target them, but you should do more perch fishing videos cause you get into some nice ones!
The ripping up high also works great for Bluegill. Tried it this past weekend while fishing with my underwater camera. Numerous fish over 9”. Wish we could post pictures
Dude glad to see you are human! Missed him as if!!!! Love the post hook set rain of mealworms. Thanks for keeping it real. Love toad perch. They are soooo competitive on the bite when they are biting. Cool underwater action. Btw I like so I’m going to use the “and this is the outdoors” in the future.
Love to see the interaction with your viewers. Keep the content coming Us down here in Indiana have very little ice to speak of and only the die hards are venturing out on the 2-3" we have. Cant wait to see you pull up some big ol lakers hopefully soon.
That camera is a great tool when the bite is lite! I sometimes target lake white fish and they seem camera shy most times. Keeping it up a few feet at a 45 angle is an awesome idea..
Awesome Perch!! Love those guys. Last week I also got my best Perch. Little tank was 1.91lbs and 15 1/8". Made for an awesome video! Love your videos. Keep them coming!
Great video Clayton! Found your channel recently through Jay Siemens and you have awesome content my dude! You, Jay and chris should have a mini ice fishing tourney over a weekend!
I love ice fishing and were finally buying our ion ice auger!! so excited! we have the tent camera and everything we need! now got a auger! love the content
I'm looking at purchasing an underwater camera for ice fishing. I'd like to put a camera in one corner of a large shanty and see the other three corners of the shack. Will any camera show me fish and jigs from sixteen feet away?
I laughed out loud when you talked about biffing twice. Always good stuff man!! How long could you and Taro last in a shack together? It might be the funniest thing I have ever witnessed on the ice.
The ice is still a bit shady here on the bay of quinte in a few places. so I have been going up North on the trout hunt but may head out on the and see if I can find some good ice and jumbo walleye here Tomorrow. Ice permitting that is lol
Turns out the ice was not great on the bay yesterday I did not go out but some one fell through we could see the rescue crews and fire fighters searching late into the night last night. As if this afternoon the divers are still looking. I just want to wish everyone a safe season pleas be careful on the ice. Keep your eye on all the ppl around
I'm actually heading out in a few hrs to ice fish same body of water different spot looking to target larger trout then 17.5" long any tips hints or tricks to try
Alot of your content makes me want to try an ice fishing camera. I fish alot of rivers with lower water quality. Really wonder if they would do any good. Never see sny other people on the ice walking around with a marcum or aquaview. Hmmmmmm.....
Clayton, I need help lol. New to hubs. Buddy shoveled down to bare ice and we ended up fishing in a pool of water. What a mess. I will be picking up foam mats, but do I always leave the snow in place? The snow the other day was super light and fluffy and only about 4 inches of it. You could easily wipe it away to bare ice
Most likely you would have ended up with some flooding no matter what. I put a matt under the heater to at least slow the process down a little. But it sounds like you might have had flood water more than anything.
Who else wishes they could go fishing with Clayton?!
I feel like I do every video! The guy next to me is crushing them and I catch nothing! Lol
I live in Maple Grove and I can’t wait to get on the ice this weekend! But I bet what you’re saying is going to happen to me 😂
@@AdrianLopez-ts9pw good luck, im in grand rapids and going to make my way out too hope to enjoy it!
Clayton is over rated anyways :) Cheers guys!

Another Schick flick! I get so jacked up when you put out new content...thank you for all that you do! Your videos bring joy to my day.

I love to fish and I do love to guide too :)
I’m not lying when I say your videos and the Konrad brothers videos are the only ones I can watch now. It’s just pure fishing, no extra stuff.
Hands down, best fishing content on UA-cam.
Appreciate the kind words man!

Open water I assume. Seriously. 4lb. Line, small slip float, with a small tungsten ice jig 3 feet down with a wax worm or 2 on it. Deadly!!!

HAH! It was so BAD! :)
Those were some beatiful perch! I know you almost never purposely target them, but you should do more perch fishing videos cause you get into some nice ones!
Caught my PB perch this year in Wyoming. It measured 13'
So glad you through that PB perch back! You should’ve kept the 18 1/2 inch walleye for dinner! Those would have been some awesome filets to eat.
The ripping up high also works great for Bluegill. Tried it this past weekend while fishing with my underwater camera. Numerous fish over 9”. Wish we could post pictures
sounds amazing!

What lake are you fishing out of, I can’t seem to find any walleye this year.
Tanker Perch Clayton! Nice work. Any catch n' cook Burb vids coming soon?
Maybe soon :)
I caught my biggest perch a couple weeks ago, and was a 14.5 inch perch, and it’s going on the wall
GiANT!
dang, congrats on a TANK perch, Clayton.
Do you ever upgrade the treble hooks on your spoons from the stock ones? Might be something to consider.
I’m not lying, you gotta lie to the fish “suck it in, it doesn’t have a hook!”!😆 Priceless
:) Cheers!
That's a big perch hell ya man.
Last weekend we cought 2 close to 20lbs northern pike and 4-6 9-10 lbs northern pike around 4 ish
Awesome!!
Question for ya what lights are you using in your ice shelter?
Hey Clayton I see you using the big buddy heater in your ice camping videos, is it for sure safe without worrying about CO?
Nothing wrong with throwing in some short videos too, great video
Thanks 👍
Bud, you gotta come fish Lake Simcoe if you wanna see some big Perch
Was thinking Cascade instead? :)
Never stop your videos....I inject them into my bloodstream and they make me high...
Morning coffee and a new video, thanks
Morning!
“As if” he says Hahahah. Sask boy.

You should trademark "Schick-nique" for the times when you pound the bottom.
Good idea :)
@bigel the "Schick-nique"! That's genius 😂
I'm gonna use that phrase when I'm trying his approach.
What size of dinner bell lures do you use for walleyes? Thanks for he video.
Another awesome video Clayton love your videos!!
Really appreciate you watching!
Going up north in michigan tomorrow and I'll be filming my first video can't wait.....

I heard clayton is giving away frostbite gear
I am!? :)
Next time you have a fish being finicky lay the minnow or waxie on the bottom. Many times they will slam the bait to the bottom.
Short video, I’d say that’s just about perfect length 👌
Another awesome vid Bud!
Appreciate you watching!
Where do you get the tape for your rod/reel
Clayton will lake trout eat perch like the same way you use sucker meat or whole like Cisco
Went the other day and caught 65 in 2 hours using the same setup as you but it was a pink dinner bell
