My wife Sue & I had the exact same conversation today re our first ever cruise on Rhapsody Of The Seas. Walking up the gangplank.... we expected a pimped fishing vessel and could not get over how big and sparkling it was and the size of the cabin blew us away. Of course Rhapsody is the smaller of Royal Caribbean but we had the time of our life and being our first cruise we were totally hooked. I remember waiting for the ship to leave port and expected this big "lurch" as it did, ironically we were that far off land before I realized it was ridiculous. Now 7 cruises later since 2013 bring on our next B2B in 62 sleeps from Tampa!
You never really know what to expect until you see the ship with your own eyes! It is always bigger and grander in person than you imagined!! So excited for you, that will be an amazing cruise!
Many years (11 cruises ago!) we had a Disney cruise planned with family. At the last moment, when we were to pay the final deposit, my husband told me he could not do it....could not be on a ship and not see land. We cancelled. My mother made arrangements for us to tour a cruise ship in NYC. Once he saw how big the ship was, he agreed to commit to a cruise so we booked a cruise on the Carnival Sensation. On the first day at sea on the Sensation, I found him looking over the back of the ship watching the wake....I walked up to him and asked if he was ok (obviously there was NO land in sight) he turned to me and said with tears in his eyes "Why didn't we do this sooner? What took us so long to cruise?" I resisted pushing his sorry butt off that back of ship - lol! We had a fabulous cruise! When we returned to Florida, we booked our second cruise before we had left my parents home! That was 11 cruises ago and we have never looked back! We've cruised with Carnival and NCL. We like NCL better since there is no formal dinner attire required, just resort casual for dinner! And the food was much better on the Breakway than our past Carnival cruises!!
We went to StThomas last year. Look into Honeymoon Beach! I think there were only 4 other couples at the beach while we were there. I don’t know if any excursions go there, but it’s easy to get to. You need to take a taxi to the marina, then a water taxi to the island that the beach is at. From the port to the beach it took us about 30 minutes (plus about 15 min waiting for the scheduled time of the water taxi). We are going on the Breakaway this Nov! Can’t wait
My next 2 Carnival cruises don't offer FTTF. I had no idea when booking out of Vancouver it wasn't an option and kept checking for weeks. I'm booked on the Panorama inaugural sailing also & until I saw that they don't offer it on new ships I searched for the first couple of months. I need to hit that platinum soon!!!
There are many companies that will write travel insurance. I use Travel Insured for my travel agency clients. But Allianz, Chubb and AIG all have good products as well.

Help ... Would you or anyone in the comment section be able to answer about needing a watch for ship time ? We will be going on our first cruise in 2 weeks and I’ve seen one video mention bringing a watch (not to use your cell phone for the clock) to set on ship time. But am I looking for a specific watch ? Or what do you recommend ?
Hi! I know this might be a very strange question...maybe the first time you've been asked this?? My son, age 14, plays the flute. IF he were to bring it with him, is there a place, other than the cabins, he could practice while he's on the ship? Have you ever seen anyone on a cruise practicing playing an instument they brought with them? :) I doubt we'll bring it, but just thinking about all options :)
Actually on the Breakaway, we happened to get into the elevator with three people with instruments who were on their way to practice. They were a group and had requested practice room and there was a place available. But for a single person, I think the cabin will be the best option. But just ask guest services.
My husband and I went on the NCL Pride of America in 2005 for our honeymoon! It was absolutely beautiful! We rented a car and drove around all of the islands and went to the top of a volcano on the “Big Island” Thanks for the videos…we are going on the NCL Getaway in March. New subscriber!
I just started following you after booking my honeymoon on the victory. And have already started looking for booking next year for our family. Your tours and food videos are amazing.
Many cruises ago, we had planned a Disney cruise. My husband came to me and said he could not do it. Not seeing land was freaking him out. My mom planned a trip to New York City so we could tour a ship. Once he saw how large it was, he agreed to commit to going. Our first cruise was Carnival Sensation. On the first day out to sea, Sunday, he was looking over the back of the ship watching the wake. I walked up to him and asked if he was doing ok, he turned to me with tears in his eyes and said "Why haven't we done this sooner?" I thought I was going to toss him over the side - LOL! We have now been on 12 cruises & can't wait to make it 13!!
I just looked up the Hawaii cruise! It’s definitely something we would have to save for as a family of 6. It’s like the cost of three western Caribbean cruises! Worth it I’m sure...but will have to save!
Hmmm... That is a tough call. There are a lot of scenes that are very sexually suggestive and there is bad language. I would equal it to an R rated movie.
I go on my first cruise next month on Carnival Dream and have been soaking up all of your knowledge to having the best time and affordable options to having the best fun, so thank you all for that.
Thanks for your input Ruby. It is just difficult to put a question out here on YT but once I have questions this is definitely the place for the answers.
EECC Travels Thank you for the reply. Maybe if I have a question from your next cruise you wouldn’t mind answering it for me here. I’m in the Uk so can only cruise once a year with a pre cruise hotel for a week. Your both so funny without being immature. But I’ve learned how to cruise from you both’ oh the things I wish I knew before watching your channel !
Absolutely! I do my best to respond to all questions, but I do fall behind sometimes. You can also always email me at eecctravels@gmail.com and I can answer there too.
Is there a reason that you choose Galveston Port over New Orleans port? I live about an hour south of you guys and the travel time is not much difference.
We sail from both, Galveston is one hour further for us. But Galveston has more ships that sail from there so more options so that is why we have ended up sailing from there more often.
We are also hoping they bring an Oasis class ship to Galveston. Our 1st cruise was on Liberty of the Seas. We were so lost on our 1st cruise. Now we feel like we know what we are doing. We want to do a Baltic cruise.
I REALLY hope that rumor is true! One of our table mates on the Disney Wonder somehow worked in that department/area and he told us. He was really excited and sounds like it is true. Fingers crossed. A Baltic cruise would be amazing!!
One thing I noticed in doing some research (and it queued me because you guys sail out of Texas), is that Cheers is not enabled on your SnS card until 6 AM the following day. Any drinks purchased before 6 AM are charged to your SnS card at regular rates. Has that been your experience as well?
We did Carnival Legend to Hawaii out of Vancouver and it went to Hilo & Kona Big Island, stopped at Maui, Kauai and Honolulu. It was awesome and well worth it! Did Disney Fantasy and there were just WAY too many kids, and we had kids with us. Too many unruly kids where parents just let them go and do whatever they want. It was a bucket list trip but I'll never do Disney cruises again.
You will enjoy the NCL Hawaii cruise. We live in Hawaii and watch the ship pull in every Wednesday morning. We are going on a Rhine River cruise this April and then Australia/New Zealand cruise 2020/2021 on NCL.
My mom did that same Hawaii cruise and she loved it. She would do it again. In 2009 the both of us did a 12 day Baltic Sea cruise in Eastern Europe on Carnival Splendor. The best trip we have ever had.
Me and my mom are going to Alaska in June on the carnival legend! It's our first time going on a cruise. First vacation at all together (I'm 22). We are so excited!
Watching your videos keep me sane until our cruise in August! We’re going on the NCL Dawn and it’s our first. You were our push to finally book it!! So thank you ❤️
We'll be coming down to cruise out of Galveston when the new terminal is built and an Oasis Class ship sails out of there! And nice hat tip to the Minnesota Juicy Lucy!
Don’t like Galveston because of the drink package restriction first day, or the taxes they charge on alcohol coming back into state. But would be great to get on a Oasis class over that way. Mom might do it with me from there. Wish terminal was going to be build in NOLA. Wish my husband could cook, your one lucky woman Alisa. Love the videos you guys are great.
PLEASE!!! help those of us who dye our hair or have sun exposed scalp issues etc... I have burgundy blonde naturally curly hair that tends to frizz, I need to know the best product to use... 1. Protect my scalp (my bald husband uses sweatproof sunscreen< but it's too greasy for my hair? 2. Protect my hair from effects of weather/water on our caribbean Crown Princess cruise 12/7-17/19?
1. Babyganics scalp sunscreen 2. Keep hair up and in a ponytail or bun while on the ship, you may also want to invest in a nice big floppy hat with SUV protection built in
I’m going to Hawaii in 2020 and it is on Royal Caribbean serenade of the seas. It’s one of there smaller ships but I think it may be the size of Carnival Glory. It goes from Vancouver BC to Kauai then to Hilo, Kona, Maui for two days and ends in Honolulu and I plan to stay there for 3 nights and then fly home to Portland Oregon. It’s an 11 night cruise so I have to take a couple weeks off work but it sounds like a lot of fun.
We've been on Breakaway twice, 2013 and 2014 Bermuda, and they had Fat Cats blues club, not that rock club. It was AWESOME! Blues musician from Monticello N.Y. Slam Allen, played BB King and original songs. Great with the audience. Have seen him on land, too. Sorry they changed venue. You would've loved it. He has son, so being on cruise kept him too far from family. Plus he's lost ton of weight, so no longer a Fat cat😊
Recently found your channel and am really enjoying your videos. I didn't realize that you were a travel agent with a full time job. Is Jason a stay at home Dad? You guys lead busy lives and seem like such a happy family. Love you guys! We're going on a Viking River cruise on the Danube in June for our 50th anniversary. Should be memorable. Have gone on lots of Carnival cruises in our younger years and always enjoyed them. Thanks again.
Did pride of America Ncl ship in April 2018 was sensational. It's the destination not the ship, swam with seat turtles and chilled at the volcano a week before it went nuts. Super awesome. On oasis of the seas cruise in April 7 weeks out. December Mexico cruise carnival legend July 2020 12 day Mediterranean cruise Halloween 2020 carnival mardi gras. I'm a bit addicted
My husband is a fraidy cat and I can't get him to go on a cruise (he also hates to fly) so my daughter & I are going in May on our second cruise for her college graduation!
Well Alisa, as my TA, I expect you to continue my FTTF excursion! Ha ha, just kidding ya! I keep checking, knowing it's still a ways out, but I really want it! Fingers are crossed!
I do try and answer questions here too... but I fall behind sometimes... sorry!!! But if you ask a question in the Facebook group you will get feedback from 3k members 👍
Alyssa, you and i were messaging of facebook last week and you said if i needed you to look at a cruise for my anniversary to let you know. I sent you a message thru our continued conversation and im not sure if you received it. Let me know if there is a different place i need to send the message. Thanks, Kathy
I just love watching your videos bc you are so informative. I do have a question, do you think that Disney, Carnival, etc have more kids then Norwegian and that food is as good as other cruise lines. My first cruise was Anthem of the Seas, Then The Oasis, then last fall I went on The Bliss. So I have only been on Royal Caribbean and The Norwegian. Bc everyone said you have to go on Norwegian. It was an awesome ship. I cannot say anything bad about it. But I have to admit the Royal Caribbean is my favorite so far. And The Oasis is fantastic, you have to go, you will love it. They have that great Boardwalk, and like SeaWorld, then my favorite is Central Park. I could not believe all the trees and beautiful flowers that were real in Central Park. You can get a balcony overlooking Central Park but over looking the Ocean is still my favorite. I love the turquoise water. Keep those videos coming. Nancy Carroll
Drinks packages are good if you like to party. Bloody Mary's 9:00 am...that's us :) First cruise we went on, was a $300++ bill after 3 days - EEEEKK! Very personal though. Medicare does not cover extra medical outside of the country - $117 for two for 1 week - covered EVERYthing. GEO -
I started singing Blackwater and doing a dance 💃🏽 across the room and my husband wanted to know who I was hanging with and if I was booking a trip with ‘em! Would be a fun one for certain! 🎉🎸🥁🎻🎺🎷🎼🎹🎤🚢
I just love your channel ❤️

IMG Global is also a great travel plan :)
Check out serenade of the seas to Hawaii in September 2020. It's an 11 night but still does all the same 5 Hawaii Islands. We're thinking about it
That sound great but out problem is taking more than a week at a time off from work. That is why the 7 day is really the only option for us right now.
My next 2 Carnival cruises don't offer FTTF. I had no idea when booking out of Vancouver it wasn't an option and kept checking for weeks. I know, I will be happy when we are platinum too! That is such a nice perk!
Can you post a link to the travel insurance please? Thanks in advance!
There are many companies that will write travel insurance. I use Travel Insured for my travel agency clients. But Allianz, Chubb and AIG all have good products as well.
The Triumph was my first also out of NOLA
I can't wait to see when she is remade into the Sunrise!
As an investigator for over 30 years for insurance companies don't incept policies to a budget....insure as though the worst possible scenario can happen and disclose everything.....otherwise you wont be covered......
Very good advice!
Please please let royal be building another terminal so Oasis class can dock in galveston
THEY ARE!!! It has been confirmed for 2021!
are you on shipmate?
Yes! AlisaEECCTravel

Leaving on the Pride of America in 25 days.
New to cruising . Did one so far so good. Love your videos . Carnival Sunshine was fun now next trip NCL Pride of America 2021
That sounds amazing!! I really hope we are able to do this cruise in the next year or so!! Have fun on the Getaway!!
I just started following you after booking my honeymoon on the victory. And have already started looking for booking next year for our family. Your tours and food videos are amazing.
Thanks Kandace!! I hope you have an amazing honeymoon ❤️. And yes, cruising is addicting so there will be many more in your future!
You need to check FTTF several times a day not once a week. When they open it up, it's only for a few and they sell out within hours.
Yes! Doobies!
Many cruises ago, we had planned a Disney cruise. My husband came to me and said he could not do it. Not seeing land was freaking him out. LOVE this story!!! I was thinking 'awe' when you said he had tears in his eyes and then cracked up when you wanted to throw him overboard! :)
I just looked up the Hawaii cruise! It’s definitely something we would have to save for as a family of 6. It’s like the cost of three western Caribbean cruises! Worth it I’m sure...but will have to save!
Yes it is pricey, but I have heard nothing but great things about it so I think it will be worth it.
Do you think Rock Of Ages is inappropriate for all 10 year olds? Our daughter loves rock & roll from that era.
Great info as always guys
We have a place in Mamou that makes a Cajun Deluxe Burger. Its to burgers with cheese in the middle then breaded and fried
Once you go on Royal, you will compare their ships to other lines.
My first cruise was in 1992 on a Costa ship!
I don’t do Facebook I watch you here so please keep them separate
Thanks for your input Ruby. It is just difficult to put a question out here on YT but once I have questions this is definitely the place for the answers.

Nope...its the Bliss!
Norwegian Bliss
I was just like you Jason!!! Then I woke up one day like I'm just gonna do it. Disney Dream was my 1st cruise and now I absolutely love it!
No drinking on the Pride NCL , at least that’s what I heard .
I’m wrong, sorry
Love Jason singing Black Water. I used to sing that with my dad, when I was little. Brought back good memories. 😁
Saint Thomas - take the ferry over to St John for a beach day and exploring.
keep on cruising...
We are also hoping they bring an Oasis class ship to Galveston. Our 1st cruise was on Liberty of the Seas. We were so lost on our 1st cruise. Now we feel like we know what we are doing. We want to do a Baltic cruise.

Love you guys! Always enjoy your videos. I think I have watched so many that you are officially part of my family LOL
One thing I noticed in doing some research (and it queued me because you guys sail out of Texas), is that Cheers is not enabled on your SnS card until 6 AM the following day. Any drinks purchased before 6 AM are charged to your SnS card at regular rates. Has that been your experience as well?
Yes, that is some weird TX law that does not allow drink packages. It has been ok, Jason just takes it easy on day one :)
I have heard nothing but good things about the Hawaiian cruises, I can't wait to try one. Sorry you had a bad experience on Disney :(
Was hoping to see Alisa's USS Enterprise set up.
You will enjoy the NCL Hawaii cruise. We live in Hawaii and watch the ship pull in every Wednesday morning. We are going on a Rhine River cruise this April and then Australia/New Zealand cruise 2020/2021 on NCL.
That is so neat that you see the ship every week!! Your cruise sounds absolutely wonderful!!
My mom did that same Hawaii cruise and she loved it. She would do it again. In 2009 the both of us did a 12 day Baltic Sea cruise in Eastern Europe on Carnival Splendor. The best trip we have ever had.
San Juan: el yunque, the fort and old San Juan
First cruise is on March 23rd!!! The carnival breeze, can’t wait!! Any tips on this ship, and what to do on it
How exciting! Have you seen our Breeze playlist? There are lots of videos that show lots of aspects of this ship!
Me and my mom are going to Alaska in June on the carnival legend! It's our first time going on a cruise. First vacation at all together (I'm 22). We are so excited!
Love your videos. Jason that was great you are so talented!!
Watching your videos keep me sane until our cruise in August! We’re going on the NCL Dawn and it’s our first. You were our push to finally book it!! So thank you ❤️
Amber Cove - ATVs were a blast. St thomas- St. John trunk bay was beautiful and great snorkeling.
We'll be coming down to cruise out of Galveston when the new terminal is built and an Oasis Class ship sails out of there! And nice hat tip to the Minnesota Juicy Lucy!
Congrats on 25K
Don’t like Galveston because of the drink package restriction first day, or the taxes they charge on alcohol coming back into state. But would be great to get on a Oasis class over that way. Mom might do it with me from there. Wish terminal was going to be build in NOLA. Wish my husband could cook, your one lucky woman Alisa. Love the videos you guys are great.
Tanks.
Our first cruise together was also on the triumph in 2000
Jason, you rock.
'Rock the Pour

Going on NCL Breakaway this weekend. Thanks ever so much for your vlogs on the ship. They were really informative. 😊
My first cruise, - summer 1997 on carnival sensation 7 day cruise to eastern Caribbean /
I was 12 years old
Have you guys ever seen the UA-cam channel Sean and Stef IRL? They're cruise bloggers as well and I think ya'll would get on so well together!!
Always great info. Y'all rock!
That's good to know about Cheers. I drink, love coffee and enjoy smoothies. Hubby does not drink any of that.
I have been on The Pride of America twice. Best one to enjoy.
No worries Jason my husband the same and never flown...
PLEASE!!! help those of us who dye our hair or have sun exposed scalp issues etc...
1. Babyganics scalp sunscreen
Hawaii and Alaska from Sf is outstanding...I've done both twice now...
*singing* Old black water, keep on rollin', Mississippi moon won't you keep on shinin' on me.... :D

my first cruise is coming up on March 1!!!!!!!!!!!!
Does ziplining put your stomach in your throat?
Jason is still mad over the Tenors of Rock..lol
Although I believe you to be novice cruisers, I do like your banter. Keep on cruising ...like your vlog..
Im on the carnival dream now.
Cool. I like it so far. We are in jamaica
oh man, if Galveston will bring in an Oasis class ship that will be awesome for sure. We will be making that trip regularly.
P.g.13 ok now I want to know what are the R rated questions have been😇😇😇
another great video.... I just followed you on Facebook
Just started following you on Facebook... I've been asking questions on your videos here. Duh... Hahaha
I do try and answer questions here too... but I fall behind sometimes... sorry!!! But if you ask a question in the Facebook group you will get feedback from 3k members 👍
We had 5 people airlifted off the Dawn last year . Just awful.
Alyssa, you and i were messaging of facebook last week and you said if i needed you to look at a cruise for my anniversary to let you know. I sent you a message thru our continued conversation and im not sure if you received it. Let me know if there is a different place i need to send the message.
Thanks,

They have that great Boardwalk, and like SeaWorld, then my favorite is Central Park. I could not believe all the trees and beautiful flowers that were real in Central Park. You can get a balcony overlooking Central Park but over looking the Ocean is still my favorite. I love the turquoise water. Keep those videos coming. Nancy Carroll
Doobie Brothers!!
GEO -
Planning to go on the Mardi Gras in Dec 2020.
I started singing Blackwater and doing a dance 💃🏽 across the room and my husband wanted to know who I was hanging with and if I was booking a trip with ‘em! Would be a fun one for certain! 🎉🎸🥁🎻🎺🎷🎼🎹🎤🚢
