      Great option! Something else I’ve tried with Dazzle Dry to add plumpness and reduce ridge visibility is to do regular application (base, base, color, color, top) and then do another top coat without waiting for the first top coat to dry. I top coat all 5 nails, then topcoat those same 5 nails immediately. I think it would also work with 3 topcoats if needed. You just can’t wait for the topcoats to dry in between coats because they won’t bond properly. Worth a shot! 😉

    Anna, you are an EXCELLENT teacher! You patiently go through instructing about all manners of nail/hand care, you're willing to listen to your "students" and offer them constructive feedback, and you encourage everyone to keep practicing. These are the best qualities of the best teachers and you have them all.

    Hi Anna and MSL, I loved this video. It made me feel totally justified for using the method I have found through trial and error to work for me and my ridgy nails. I don't just have Mt. Ridgemore on one nail, more like I have the entire Himalayan range across all of my nails. I know not to buff them, but sometimes (maybe once a month), I can't stand it and will GENTLY buff just at the proximal skin fold area. As the nails grow out, eventually most of the plate is a little smoother than it would be if I didn't do this. As for polish, I apply about 7 THIN layers: basecoat, 3 coats of color, topcoat, and finally quick dry topcoat. I love the plump look and feel of this method and the extra strengthening all the layers give me. My manicures easily last 7 days or more, too. Thank you for sharing this information!!

    The nail looks much better! Much less ridgy. I haven’t gotten DD yet, but am thinking about it. I don’t mind extra layers, especially if the polish is a thinner formula and dries so fast. The more layers just means more support for my genetically thin nail. More support means less likely to break. Thank you for this!
    I’d love a comparison between using the top like this and using transform. I’d love to see if Transform works better then the top coat. For one thing, Transform is $24.

    Anna, you are a great teacher!! Mixing words up or anything similar has nothing to do with teaching ability. Besides, you don’t mix words up a lot. I always appreciate and love the way you educate in most videos. There is so much misinformation out there and so many UA-cam videos out there with misinformation. You never know when you’ll get a new to you viewer that needs to be educated with scientific facts about nail care.

    Anna, your technique worked great for me! I have very ridgy nails, mostly vertical ridges from aging, but also some horizontal ridges on my thumbs from too-aggressive cuticle removal. They're growing out and I'm much more careful now. I have never found a ridge-filler polish that I liked, although I haven't tried Dazzle Dry's Transform yet. I watched your video today, just before I did my weekly Dazzle Dry manicure. 1 base coat, 1 top coat, 2 Forever Love coats, 1 top coat. This is the smoothest my nails have looked in years! Thank you!

    Hello, I bought my first DD, pinky’s up, in December 2023, and I love the system, but I have ridges. I purchased DD transform(er) 😊, bare and I love it! I used two base coats, two coats of transform and then one top coat. The color was beautiful, sheer, and a milky white. I’m on day five and it looks great!! I did get the bare transform not the original. Hope that helps someone😊

      I’ve heard many reports that thick, multiple coats of Dazzle Dry (especially Transform) can lead to nail surface damage over time. I think partially the beauty of Dazzle Dry is the thin coating that possibly flexes with the nail. Or maybe let’s some of the oil pass through. Adding layers and layers makes a thick, inflexible coat that might not make a gentle coating anymore.

      I love transform, too! I have had great results with both Transform options and I've been using transform and dazzle dry exclusively since Oct 2021! I switch the transform shade I'm using depending on the colour coat I choose. My nails have never been healthier. 🎉

    OMG! I can't keep up with the craziness this morning. I need more coffee. 🤣 You two were on fire today. Anna, it was 2 minutes and 12 seconds of you explaining what you were going to do. LOL ;) MSL, I LOVE your ink. I'm always mad happy when I get a glimpse of them. Ok, on a more serious note, Anna, MSL's middle finger that you are working on is how short I have always kept my nails. I really can't stand them any longer. I'm a picker, so if I see any dirt or a speck of something under the nail, I have to pick and dig at it until it is gone, and over the years, it seemed like my nail beds were getting shorter and shorter (I NEVER bite my nails) Now that I have been wearing color, I'm not obsessed with picking, since I can't see what's under my nails. But I have noticed, if you look at MSL's ring finger, you can see a like a small ridge of the nail bed(?) growing out. I've noticed that as my nails are longer, it seems like my beds are growing as well. If I've filed my nails too low, it will actually stick out from the tip of my nail. What's happening to me? Am I a transformer? lol Anna, I also LOVE this color, Mistletoe is on my list of DD colors to get next. Thanks for a fun start to my day. The only thing that could make it better is if we could go down to the cafe and have espresso, a pastry and chit-chat the day aways. :) Hugs

    • @TheSalonLife
      @TheSalonLife  2 роки тому

      Hi Laurent 🥰. It’s very interesting that you noticed that MSL nails are shorter (esp on the left hand). For some reason the free edge (the white part) has receded a bit. I’m pretty sure it’s because he didn’t wear anything on his nails for quite a few days.
      I don’t know why but wearing polish constantly almost changes how the nails look. The nail bed (pink part) extends and the nail bed looks longer.
      “Am I a transformer” 🤣 yes lol. The part of the skin that extends from the nail bed is called hyponychium and in some people when the nail is protected it kind of extends.
      The only thing you can do is maybe push it back very very gently after a shower?
      Don’t ever try cutting it. Or maybe go without polish for few days and see what happens.
      The ridge on MSL nail looks like it’s growing out but I think it’s a deception. The ridge simply changed direction and it just looks different. I’m keeping an eye on it too and I noticed that and hoped that was the case too but sadly hopeful thinking.
      Regarding Mistletoe sadly I guess it’s discontinued because non of the links work and I can’t find it in the store. Too bad they don’t tell us that they are discontinuing colors 😢
      Ok. Gotta run. See you at 10:30 at Can Carbo? 😇

    Love the final results! I find in salon with transform or this method, it's just too many layers and too much time. Do you have suggestions for how to implement this on clients? I feel like I never have time to use transform, and at this time, I'm not willing to change the time of my services.

    • @TheSalonLife
      @TheSalonLife  2 роки тому +1

      I feel exactly the same and this was the reason why I didn’t use it. It adds about 10 minutes to the service which is a lot. I really don’t know what the solution is for the salon.
      If everyone needed it, loved it and saw the benefit then maybe but it’s a big variation in service time otherwise. I don’t have the answer. How much time do you book for a pedicure?

    • @HealthtoBeautyNails
      @HealthtoBeautyNails 2 роки тому

      @@TheSalonLife The minimum time for one of my pedicures is an hour, and my manicures are 45 minutes. I'm still fine tuning my timing with Dazzle Dry, which has been a journey. I know the system can't be rushed, but it often takes me longer than I'd like from start to finish to polish with DD. Always getting great tips from your videos about viscosity of each layer, which has been super helpful!
