Exatamente! In my country in South America we only pay the premium and receive the health insurance discount promptly. There’s no this complicated and ridiculously amount of money involved. I’m a legal immigrant and have American children, so no, I can’t go back to my country now. 😅
I don’t know why should I pay a premium...if I can never afford a deductible... like I’m broke. For my family of 4 the premium is $450 a month....that’s cheap? I barely make 3 grand a month. My deductible is $10,000+++ ...So I pay you and still pay for everything??? I can’t afford $10,000 a year. This is a scam.
Could have gone into more detail about the plan types. But the rest of the points were explained well and the graphic really helped me understand deductible, co-insurance, and out-of-pocket maximum.
Okay so I was right, this is a scam lol. Pay a monthly fee to be a member of their health insurance, but if you need their services, you gotta pay "out of pocket" also. Thank you for the video
I'm less confused, yet still confused...this is a maze of rules and exceptions. I'm starting to realize that the insurers are the key to good healthcare, not the doctors.
Thank you so much for letting me express my feelings about your post. You record every blog post so well. Keep the hard work going and good luck. Hope to see such a beneficial post ahead too.
record every conversation w/ your insurance companies. some companies like aetna think they can do whatever they like even if you have urgent needs. at some point it becomes abuse.
How much do I actually save? It seems like I pay MORE money over time. Which is stupid because insurance companies are the reason hospitals are so expensive. Because they are always trying to haggle the hospitals.
Administrative costs are another reason. The field is oversaturated with worthless people who aren't healthcare practitioners but make more money than they deserve. Estimates are about 1/3rd costs are Administrative alone.

In fact it's a little worse, usually car insurance deductible is 500 to 1000 but health insurance cost out of pocket if you get a surgery it's insane, not well plan sucks for the healthy and sucks for the not so healthy as well
Hi! I don't understand how people pay a full coverage for cars over 200.00 us monthly and more...when is relate to personal health insure we think about it different? I was talking about it with my health insurance agent.
I have a question. I have health insurance through pennie Marketplace, and I know there is a 90-day Grace period. If I'm late paying a premium but I'm wondering is it okay to be late a couple months in a row? When I say late, I mean paying the premium 2 or 3 days after it's due. And I'm talking about a couple of consecutive months. In other words, I'm paying it each month, but it's a couple days past the due date when I finally send my payment in. So if it's due the 1st of each month, is it okay to pay it by the second or the third day of the month without facing any penalties? I'm talking about doing this for maybe 2 or 3 months in a row. Understand, I am paying the full premium each month, it's just going to be a couple of days late for 2 or 3 months.
This is a example please let me know if you know this Insurance has 65 dollars for doctor visit Uninsured people would pay 300 dollars. So if i have insurance n havent start my deductible, does my deductible pay 65 or 300?

Health Insurance Basics in USA: Let's make it super complicated so we can steal as much as we can!

Would be a lot better if everyone was on Medicare and at 26 years old we all paid the same monthly premium.

The fact that we as Americans put up with this shitty system is mind-boggling.
Definitely.
whatever you do, be wary of aetna especially if you have pharmaceutical needs.
if people are retired can they still keep their coverage and if so will they be able to get a better deal / plan for the medical coverage

Usually cheap plans let you have a few doctor visits for free or cheap before the deductible and met, so it would be 65 in most cases.
