I worked at that hat factory for 10 years. I also lived in Westwood Cresent, which are the houses you back onto. I remember my mum trimming hats at home to make a few bob and I remember taking them and fetching them in a black bag. We dont know we are born now do we, although I wouldn't swap that time for anything now.
I did a short vlog on the factory if you'd like to watch it, thank you so much for your comment. Here's the link: ua-cam.com/video/OiM0luJwZoU/v-deo.htmlsi=QK8TGfE24oRC1gZ-
Just a personal opinion, I think that the only people who hear the horn of a narrow boat are those on the boat sounding the horn. I personally, whilst boating, can't recall hearing another boat's horn and Spudly is always commenting that other boats state that they haven't heard him. I'm sure that it's the "Inverse square law" and that's before you add engine noise and physical barriers that all impede the noise of the horn. Just a thought.
Prior to Covid (face masks, distancing etc.) I could count on getting a bit of a cold in the fall when it got colder and damp AND again in the spring when the weather did the reverse! Then came the Covid shots AND the influenza shots. I jokingly suggested to one of the medics administering the shots that perhaps I should have a small dart board tattooed on my right bicep! Interestingly though, aside from not having any Covid symptoms, since 2020, I have also not had any of the colds that I used to catch. T'is the season though. I do suggest stocking up on tissues though as my colds usually started with a sore throat that set in late in the day (ensuring a relatively sleep-free night...*#@@!...) and then the sneezing and congestion set in. Let's hope it is not a cold at all.
Its quite weird how we've been feeling though. I've had no cold symptoms at all really and Nicky only had her sore throat that morning, its been more tummy cramps

The horn is also useful for Kayaks and paddleboarders etc. We do hear other horns but ours seems so quiet lol
🤠👍👍

These horns go by decibels...what is the one you have?
I think it's 130db but not too sure
@@GaryCaptainPhillips I did give you an ebay number to look at but I think it has been removed.
P.S. say hi to Steve
You need to get a horn like Heidi's ( narrowboat pirate ) that's a proper klaxon not a horn .
Yup, that's the one
