Totally agree with you about the floor. I'm doing the same in my Toyota Coaster. It's good to know that you're starting with a solid foundation before you build your house on top.
Awesome video guys - we're super interested in your progress as we're just in the process of ripping up our 2004 Rosa flooring. So good to read everyone's tips on water tanks etc. Hope it's going well.
@@firliegreening4013 we've had issues re seats and engineering, if you're interested we explain it in this Sundays episode 😊 Too much to type in a comment 😅
@@OneForTheRoad hey guys, thank you replying - yes we're definitely interested - are you keeping any original seats for the kids, or have you found a way to use built in lounge seating with seatbelts that can be certified as legitimate 'driving' seats? we'd love to use our space better and not have to keep a row of bus seats..anyone have any ideas? I've watched your next few episodes, but mustve missed where you talked about seats..?
@@firliegreening4013 Hiya! We touch on our seating issues here (ua-cam.com/video/WBaKS3yq6wI/v-deo.html). We removed the original anchor points when we removed the subfloor, so will be to have our passenger seats engineered which we would not have to do if we the original seats and anchor points. We did ask about a couch with seatbelts but were told that it is no longer legal to seat passengers on this kind of seat. Are you in Australia? Best to talk to an engineer, we have alot more regs here than overseas.. we wish we could've found one earlier!!
Are you near ipswich? Just that Costco looks almost identical to my local one 🤣 thank you so much these awesome videos, especially helps when I start my rosa build real soon hopefully
Looking good guys. Have you decided what water tanks you are getting? Looking forward to seeing more videos. It is inspiring me as i will be picking up my Rosa in a couple of weeks and begin the conversion process. Keep up the good work :-)
Thanks! We do have one that will fit but will likely need the second custom built unless we can find one online that would fit. :) I bet you're excited! Keep us up to date.
Damn de ja vu, doing my Mitzi as well , floors up grinding and rust protection atm. Took the air con out as well. Will you use sound deadening or window tint. Anyway good luck.
Definitely, I fitted 100l fresh and 100 l grey before putting in the floor. After the floor was in I decided to add another 50l tank to each so we will have a bit more for free camping. What a mission lying on your back drilling steel is not cool hot steel falling all over you.
@@dougmeyer5715 we're still finalising where we are going to put them and getting quotes for custom made tanks, so not sure we'll have the chance to put them in first to be honest. 🤔 Can't imagine the welding would've been fun, but at least you've got plenty of water resources!!
@@OneForTheRoad You could cut the floor lay it down but don't fix it yet move on with walls or ceiling. when tanks come fit them and secure waterproofed floor in place. Alternatively if you know the tank sizes fit brackets for threaded rod leave rods longer than needed hanging under the floor and then fit floor. When tanks come lift them up and secure. You are going to burn lots of brain cells on this job. All idea's work but some harder than others.😊
Thanks so much for editing and sharing this, guys! Cheers from Wellington :)
No worries! Hope it helps out in some way and you're enjoying the vids. 😊
We love Windy Welly! Had such a great time at the museum there. 😁
i think it was a good idea to rip the whole floor up and get that extra head space
Oh absolutely!! We're only short but it's made the world of difference.
So good for me to see the sub floor, I can see what I'm dealing with in my next step. Thanks guys 👍
It's good to know what you're dealing with. Big reason we pulled it up!

Absolutely! We figured if we didn't pull it up, we could easily miss any issues that there may have been.
Take care and stay safe from Cathy also look forward to seeing you in TAROOM again from Cathy
Thanks Cathy! We look forward to seeing you too :)
Good job so far Im keen to see episode 4, I have just purchased a Rosa ready to strip and start rebuilding.
We're glad you're enjoying it!
Will you be keeping the original floor or pulling it all out like we have?
@@OneForTheRoad ill be pulling it out to give myself enough headroom i only have 25mm head clearance with it out
@@brettmerritt1235 yeah either side of the isle is quite high! It's not too difficult to pull out.. they don't hold it down with much. 😅

How many seats are you keeping? Just the drivers and passengers, or extras too? :)
@@OneForTheRoad we're thinking we'll keep the first row of passenger seats, for our dogs currently, but future-proofing for a family one day!

Good timing! Haha
The current tint is peeling so we will need to replace it. We're still looking for a good sound deadener.
Thanks, you too!!
Our new adage: There's no such thing as a straight line in a bus build. It's an optical illusion. :-)

Just wing it..
Agreed.
Definitely do water tanks first before floor.
