The only issue I have with this line is the sudden shift off of Queen randomly. Following Queen to Dufferin would make more sense. Ontario Place is completely out of the way. Liberty Village is already built up and more centered around the core arteries. Staying on Queen along its core adds opportunities for a route to the northwest end also. The entire area between Jane and Dufferin are reeling for better transit south of Eglinton. The Ontario Place turnoff throws a huge wall up for transit development west of Bathurst.

Ford probably has some friends who own land nearby.

@@dothedeed They are going to build a casino at Ontario Place they just won't announce it till everything is ready and Ford with his majority will do everything legislatively possible to push it through. Cutting council in half and now re-nigging on a promise for a bigger gas tax allocation to the city were his early messages that either council plays ball with him or he will kick them out of the arena.

Sam195 the need for money laundering amongst Fords donors is probably high so he’ll definitely want that casino to provide that use.

i think it makes more sense to have the subways go to major destinations rather than having it run along a street already served by streetcar. if higher order transit is needed on queen they could add a RoW for the streetcar or limit vehicle traffic.

The Ontario line only makes sense if it serves the West End which it doesn't. Connect the thing up to Dufferin or Dundas West. It's bloody obvious.

The line will not be operational until 2035. Lots of time to figure out where else to live.

What happened to the tax cut Dougie? 28.5 billion is not even what it will cost and never break even. What about the interest costs you people always talk about when carrying the debt, this will be the anchor around Toronto's neck for years to come. Will people use it, sure if you ever get it built which is unlikely but you will have the money allocated to it while you cut services for people.

Looks like a waste of money and time. Just increase the bus services in those areas. The Sheppard line in the only serious consideration. It should be made to stretch from woodbine horse track and casino to the end of Scarborough.

The Sheppard line already has less riders than what was expected. Most cities have lines that focus on the downtown to ease congestion, Toronto is a weirdly dysfunctional exception. I think a relief line is a good thing and I don't even live in Toronto.

It’s a good line. I goes through the heart of downtown connecting the east and west while capturing high density areas in the poorer areas of east york which relies more heavily on public transit more so than other areas.

How disrespectful CityNews. You don't give the hot blond at 1 min 14 seconds a name placard till she speaks again at 1 minute 57 seconds. However Professor Minority gets his name plastered right away when he speaks. Why does Rogers and CityNews still embrace the patriarchy? Are the opinion of women still second fiddle to men in 2019? I know the PM thinks that so wouldn't blame you because 2015 was 4 years ago.
