ok, but seriously, I totally get the ‘weird bit’ but my neice is like this, and she gets picked on so much. she has asperger’s and doesn’t understand boundaries etc. she is honestly the sweetest girl in the world and doesn’t mean it to be weird. she is in grade 6 and no one her age will play with her at school, so she tends to play games on the playground with children in grade 1/2 because they’re the only kids who don’t pick on her. she is so pretty and so talented (she’s a competitive cheerleader) , so girls want to be her friend when they first meet her; then call her annoying and bully her.
It breaks my heart.

I know a person like this. She’s an adopted child that doesn’t know she’s adopted, and she has about 7 siblings that also don’t know they are adopted. They are pretty sheltered and don’t do much besides go to church and everyday errands. They never hang out with friends (they don’t have any outside of church) or go to the mall or anything like that. This girl always talks to me after church and before, and always asks who my little friends are, why i always sit with them, stuff like that. She asked her mom recently if she could sit with me and the youth group at our church Christmas party, even though she’s not in the youth, because they all have to sit on their pew with their parents every week and can’t participate in anything. Sometimes it gets annoying, but you know what, I wouldn’t wish for her to stop doing all those things because if I am the only friend she ever has then so be it. If no one is ever nice to her because she’s “weird”, then Im honored to be that person she can talk to. Always be nice to that person in your life. You never know if you are the only friend they have, or the only person they have to talk to.❤
