Not sure if it would be worth the investment but the dryfiremag company makes a visible laser system that allows you to fire, without having to rack the slide. Any idea if mantis training is compatable with any laser sight system ? Or are they exclusively mantis product's ?
It is picked mine up recently (the smart dry fire mag + laser + this app)...sorry just re-read your question, not with any laser sight system but with the Dryfire mag & Dryfire laser combo kit (it's $300)
This is why I bought airsoft. Same model Glock in green gas. Trigger feels the same. Slide recoils with each shot. You don't want to drop the mag as they will break over hard dirt or concrete and accurate to 15 yards. My local indoor range closed with covid so I practice at home. Range re-opened and I went back to shoot live. Hits at center at 25 yards. It ain't perfect but I bought 20 bucks of pellets 3 years ago and the inside fire ones I have recovered constantly. They dont break down as fast as I'd like so don't shoot them around chickens. my dogs leave them alone. Buy a bottle adapter for coleman propane bottles. One has lasted me a year. Not saying the mantis isnt a valuable training aid but I'm not drlling cycling the slide between every shot. Just an extra training aid. Glock licensed Aiursoft G17. Even fits my carry holster perfect.
If only they made an HK VP9SK gas blowback airsoft pistol. I absolutely love airsoft and have many pistols and rifles (as well as many actual firearms) it has been proven again and again that airsoft can and does translate to real worthwhile training, but it’s also fun for me when I have the itch to go shooting and don’t wanna pack up and go to the range. Sadly I don’t have enough private property to be able to shoot at home
It DOES work with the dry fire mag, but then it won't work with the laser. You can pick up a "smart" dry fire mag and laser combo that will work with this. If you don't have a red dot on your gun then that's probably the way to go. If you have a red dot then a regular dry fire mag + this would work out pretty well.
I didn't buy the kit. I just bought the red laser and downloaded the app. Whe I try to use the open training, it trys to connect and fails. I am assuming I have to buy the kit to use the app?
The kit works by monitoring their smart targets and recording the impacts so you would need to have the compatible smart targets for the app to monitor using your phone camera
@@DefendersAndDisciples would you still have to re-rack the slide even with a double action pistol? Comparing this to the strikeman, the strikeman does not require rerack for double action pistols.
I find it to be boring as hell. You always just hit where you want. I do use the Mantis X system and line that, but mostly I use the laser bullet to shoot at the center of the fan, the dogs (kidding……), light switches and so on. It is a bit expensive for what you get IMO.
I honestly can’t believe we are getting into this much semantics over my statement. This is UA-cam comment section at its finest. 😂 I buy ammo in 200 round boxes which cost about $55 each. 🤦♂️

I doubt this is really a realistic training tool. Caliber, cartridge load, make of hangun (brand), recoil, stress, interesting but useless. Live fite drills are best
@BlackAdder1970 Live fire being the best does not mean this product is “useless.” It’s supplemental training like dribbling a basketball at home outside of formal practice or games. Don’t make “good” the enemy of “perfect.”
The Marine Corps does a bunch of dry runs before they actually head down range to do live fire training, this just concurs with what these other gents are trying to say

I'm thinking Taurus g2c or g3 type because double strike capability

Do you have to cycle with a double action hammer fired pistol?

i thought mantis didn’t do paid subscriptions 😐
I was surprised as well. It is a turn off. At least for me.

Airsoft is king!
I’m assuming you have the Elite version.
Does it come with the laser cartridge or do you have to buy that separate?
Mine came with the laser cartridge
How much does the app cost?
Get a T trigger magazine so you can shoot more than once
Would this work with a dry fire mag, to eliminate the constant resetting of the firearm?

this thing seems amazing! will be getting one soon! thanks for this
how long does laser last Reviews say issues with laser lasting?
I don’t know how long it last, but I have never had to replace the battery and I believe it takes a watch battery
I bought the rhino laser bullet and downloaded the mantisx app. I cannot connect. Do I need more than just the laser bullet to use the app?

Ok. Thank you very much for the content and help. I really appreciate it! Keep up the good work. I will be training for sure.
Have you ever experienced a Squib load misfire from this product?
Necessity of reSlide is only for striker guns, no?
reSlide?
@DefendersAndDisciples racking the slide?
Sorry for my Cherokee vocabulary
Oh. Yes, you have to cycle the action for semi automatic pistols with this.
Or, you can buy American steel, hammer fire.

cycling the action after each shot is a pretty big dealbreaker for me imo

Double action …
The price of two boxes of ammo? Lol thats less than 40 😂
When did I say “two boxes”?
@DefendersAndDisciples you said a few, but at $13.99 for a 50rd box, you'd need to buy about 12 boxes of ammo to break even.
