Looks great! I did this same thing to my FD. You can remove the lenses with the marking with a heat gun or blow dryer on low setting and it won’t break or warp them as long as you are careful.
I did end up braving the task and slowly removed them with low heat on a hair drier. My heat gun was too hot and started melting the plastic. I was a nervous wreck the whole time I was going to snap something, but I went slow and it eventually released.
Mine became pliable by just using hot water. I then purchased new decals from BlackCatCustom and now they look brand new. Are you happy with LEDs look? I'm on the fence on swapping.
It’s been discussed. Right now I think the limitation is probably the cost of larger or portable 3D scanners. If I had the means, I’d be all over it trust me.
Cant wait to see what difference all your work to the dash and wiring does in terms of reduced rattles, because the fit and routing of the FD3S dash always meant it rattled and creaked. The lightness(cheapness of the plastic always meant those clips pulled free and panels popped out or rubbed, Hope your go crazy with the silk and felt tapes. And sound deaden that fire wall perhaps. Pulled out the aircon core yet? Smelly work
I think I have addressed almost all of the squeaks and rattles. I think the rear hatch needs a new weather seal to tighten up the hatch. I am pleased so far. I have not pulled the AC yet. It doesn’t work so I will need to eventually.
Finished product looks awesome Matt!
Thank you!
Lookin' Good, great to see you restoring such a beautiful car, stick with it.
Great channel great content!
Thank you.

Show me how to fix the mounting tabs for the gauge cluster face panel and the cluster hood. 😂
Looks factory brand new. Great job
Thanks! I’m happy with the results.
Great job as usual

I just pulled mine apart, adhesive pulled right off with some pressure

I would suggest numbers every video you do with this project in sequence so that it's easier to follow.
Thanks for the suggestion, I’ll look into it. The RX-7 playlist should be in chronological order.
Why is no one 3D printing parts like this? I would if I knew anything about that stuff.

So much work for one piece
It may be a little OCD, but it looks great and I saved money along the way.
Did you ever find a textured one?
