It's at this point in the hospital mission, if you don't heed Jennifer's advice about your ballistic firearms being all but useless against T-800s, you'll immediately learn just why they're called "Terminators", *especially* if you're dumb enough to stand right in front of them... Being far away is no disadvantage to them either (with the exception of flamethrower-equipped Terminators obviously) as they simply use their built-in scan vision targetting to easily turn their plasma rifles/miniguns into rapid-firing sniper rifles to counter any long/extreme-distanced targets.
Playing the game on the hardest difficult is exactly that, that reflects the lore & the true canon gameplay. Their litterly aimbots if you engage them head on, you have to use guerilla tactics & play like Farcry, it only takes a single bolt to kill you while they spam like in the movies.
*Precisely.* (and it's actually more than one bolt due to the near-death life-saver that lets Jacob (MC) survive one bolt if his health is regened back to 25% hp, but still can take Jacob down easily with two shots easy if Jacob's hp remains at 25% though obviously) Though even if one manages to remove an active Terminator's ranged weapon(s) with explosives or so forth, don't think for a *SECOND* that it's harmless at that point since, if it gets close, it can still do what it does best with melee, even capable of one-hit killing Jacob via neck lift (yes, this death-anim *ACTUALLY EXISTS* in Resistance, no bullshit) if it gets close enough, hence why backing away from weaponless-yet-still-active Terminators is an absolute *must* of course.

It uses the same original soundtrack from T2 which people associate with the T1000, this one sounding more mechanical & machine like is to the T800, I think that is what Reef entertainment was trying to do, associate a Skynet theme to each Terminator models. They did one for the 600s in the DLC.

This music fit the terminators so well and made them creepy. That hospital part had chills coming off me trying to sneak past them.

Good version from the original. It sounds unstoppable.
Super underappreciated game. Not even all that great, more of a Terminator mod for Fallout, but damn if it isn't a good one.
