'In the middle of our street' makes sense to everyone in the UK, 😆 it means his house is in the middle of the row of houses on the street he lives in. A street being a road with rows of houses on either side.

Finally. Clarification after, what, 40 years? This was one of my upper-echelon High School songs, equal to Hungry Like the Wolf, Africa, She Blinded Me with Science, anything from Dio, too many from 80 -84 to list really.
I always thought it was a not-so-serious band having a bit of artistic license.

this so reminds me of my childhood. There were 4 kids in our house and 6 next door always in and out during the summer or playing outside in the street on our bikes and PoGo sticks. There was fewer cars and our street was a dead end anyway. Wings of a Dove and It must be Love are my other favourites.
They also performed this song on an episode of The Young Ones, back in the early 80s!

Look into an app called "InSSIDer", even if it looks like you have a perfect signal, someone could be parking on your channel (a common occurrence with wifi, their default channel is 11). If that's the case, an easy fix is to go to your router/modem settings and change the channel to one that is less packed.

A parody band (at least in the U.K.) would not have the enduring legacy and longevity of career that Madness has seen. There are some more serious songs such as ‘Embarrassment’ which dealt with the harsh treatment the saxophonists sister received from their family when she fell pregnant to a black man out of wedlock and as a teenager in the early 80’s...each one of these aspects were scandalous at the time, let alone all three together. Thankfully we have mostly (in general) grown past such small mindedness as a nation. Then you have the joking on the surface but with slightly more serious undertone songs like ‘Our House’ and ‘Shut Up’ and then the outright fun songs like ‘House of Fun’ and ‘Baggy Trousers’...all brilliant songs and definitely worthy of a listen...to be honest, the entire Madness back catalogue is worth a listen and for a little context of how much they enjoyed themselves in the band, here is their version of the song ‘Madness’ with footage of them running around Camden ua-cam.com/video/l49tDwFSdbo/v-deo.html
Oh and recently this song has been used in an advertisement for an online shop called Very, where it starts off with Suggs (the lead singer of Madness) and then you have multiple family units joining in with him.
Recommend 'Night Boat to Cairo' by the same band.
Also some British two tone ska - try 'Ghost Town', or 'Gangsters' by Specials, the Selector were very good from that era too.

Madness were a big part off my youth..they were called a ska band at the time...it was a big movement in the late 70s early 80s ..great times real bands real music and musicians....the selector,,the specials..there was so many at the time...YOU SHOULD LISTEN TO THE SPECIALS...THERE EXCELLENT...LOVE YOUR WORK PAL..💚🙂

This beat is FIRE. Was one of my favorites as a kid, a gem from the UK's New Wave.
Fun fact: the song was all finished, mixed and produced, but when presented to the record label executives they felt it needed a chorus. Madness went back into the studio came up with and recorded the “our house, in the middle of our street” bit, which became the chorus and was spliced into the original song.
Listen carefully. Slightly different tempo, but imagine a) being able to just come up with it and b) the song without that bit in it!

Btw, your internet issues could be a maintenance issue in your neighborhood... my husband is a cable guy, there's lots of random things that can cause problems
While there is a slight probability of that, it seems as if the mac itself is disconnecting from the router. A disruption in service will generally not disconnect the system from the router. It will stay connected but show no service message.
@@brinbar34 If his router runs off a landline then he might need to get a new micro-filter, i used to have the same issue with buffering, i changed the micro-filter and the problem was resolved. Micro-filters need to be changed every couple years, they only cost a couple a quid (£££'s or $$$'s)
Nah, just clear the temp folder. After all you do watch a lot of UA-cam videos. LOL
@@garymcatear822 Understood. I am just referring to the mac itself being disconnected. Could possible be a driver issue with the mac. I also have a mac, for work, and several windows systems. Historically, if there is an issue with my router or service, the mac stays connected just reports no service. His mac was disconnected.
