i really like that this is the first reaction where somebody acually know the former leaders at the beginning by name.
So rare to actually find a reactor to this movie that recognizes the dictators at the start of the film. So many have no idea
And then I'm left to wonder "me knowing all those dictators.. is that a good thing?" 😂😂😂
@@ptthatswhatshesaid lol
Love your reactions. Before the 1970s, pistachio nuts were imported from Iran and other Middle Eastern countries to the United States. They were dyed red to hide unappetizing discoloring. When America started to produce their own pistachios, the dyed them also because that is what consumers expected. Now, our pistachio nuts are not dyed.
Ahahah so people found it weird if they were not red?! 🤔 I've never seen red pistachios actually, here in Portugal they are not dyed.
that can't be healthy.
Wow!!! I finally understood the red lips after 30 years!!! Thanks!!!!
I always thought they're eating regular peanuts, that's how they were in the 80s. You salt and roast them with the red skins on. You can eat them with the skins, but some people didn't want to eat the skins, or wanted to avoid the salt, so you'd roll them between your fingers to get the skin off and throw it on the ground. But it wouldn't explain the red lips.
@@ptthatswhatshesaidthey did realize the red dye was not healthy for consumption. I remember my finger tips being red/pink after eating those....
19:55 that's not lipstick. That's the red dye from the pistachio shells. Red pistachios were a popular snack in the US back in the 80's and 90's. And at 20:08 those were the shells they threw out after eating the pistachios.
Now we understand that scene! 😂😂😂
When I start eating pistachio nuts...I cant stop lol..that's the joke
Just wait a minute! Weird Al did not just "used to make" parodies, he is making them to this day. And with his amazing genetics, in his 60's/70's he still looks like he is in his, at most, 30's. He is so much more talented than most of the comics we have today, and even has that little thing called, a sense of humor.
OK relax. No need to get defensive about Weird Al
Gotta check him out then, because I know of him but I've never seen anything from him
@@ptthatswhatshesaid For sure check him out. A lot of the stuff is funnier if you know what he is parodying but it's still fun regardless. Plus, he makes some original music as well but he's not as famous for that.
@@ptthatswhatshesaid I bet some short reactions to some of Weird Al's music videos would be funny and successful on UA-cam. Just an idea.
Ooh. He did a movie “UHF” about a little TV station. Similar with lots of slapstick and reference-heavy plot.
Prior to Airplane, Lloyd Bridges, Peter Graves, Robert Stack and Leslie Nielsen were all dramatic actors. This was their first comedy.
“Airplane! (alternatively titled Flying High!)[5] is a 1980 American parody film written and directed by the brothers David and Jerry Zucker, and Jim Abrahams in their directorial debuts,[6] and produced by Jon Davison. It stars Robert Hays and Julie Hagerty and features Leslie Nielsen, Robert Stack, Lloyd Bridges, Peter Graves, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, and Lorna Patterson.[6] It is a parody of the disaster film genre, particularly the 1957 Paramount film Zero Hour!, from which it borrows its plot and central characters,[7] also drawing many elements from Airport 1975 and other films in the Airport series. It is known for its use of surreal humor and fast-paced slapstick comedy, including visual and verbal puns, gags, running jokes, and obscure humor.”
I think that the fact that the actors were so serious and deadpan is what made that movie so special!
@@ptthatswhatshesaid my aunt owns the house that Leslie Nielsen lived in until he was about 4 years old, here in Regina, SK, Canada ☺
he is a hero here haha
This is one of my favorite comedies! I also love Monty Python's Life of Brian and the Holy Grail!
I know I also saw those ones a loooong time ago! So I guess if I show her those, it will almost be a first time watching for me too because I barely remember anything 😂 but I know they are good!
"This one is huge. And strong as hell too" - THAT'S WHAT SHE SAID! XD ;P
😂😂🤦🏻♂️
Weird Al has been doing parodies for about 40 years now.
I checked him out, he seems to age very slowly 😂
@@ptthatswhatshesaid He's actually still active as far as I know - my family and I attended a live concert of his at the Hollywood Bowl in 2016.
And I think those were Red Pistachio nuts you were asking about. They used to be popular in the US, but not anymore.
Ding, ding, ding! You just won the jackpot: 10 points and a parrot sticker!
To add clarity, they weren't a different kind of pistachio or anything. It just used to be a thing where they dyed them red.
Ok thank you! We were wondering what it was!
It’s funny that you ask us to help with references when most reactors didn’t recognize the dictators at the beginning and you got them all
Ok, that part I got 😅 but I can argue that that is not about something exclusively american or of that era! ahahah
Love the reaction - this series of films, Airplane! and Police Squad are all time favourites of any comedy fan IMO. I used to be the same when watching films for the first time, but these kinds of films might be better if you don't always try to guess what happens next :p Hope this doesn't sound too rude
Ahahah you're so rude! We can't help it! Especially her, always on guessing mode! But we have a lot of fun watching these kind of movies though 😋
I just realized looking at the movie poster that i think he’s holding the badge upside down.
Yop 😂 he surely is!
Do you guys know where someone can find authentic Viking cuisine?
The ocean.
20:24 You used to be able to get into anywhere with an American Express card.
oh ok, thats genius! 😂😂😂
Lionfish- highly poisonous spines!!
Priscilla Presley was a pleasant surprise to me, she turned out to be a real comedienne!
And O.J. Simpson.. well..
(he was fun, though- if we forget about his er.. legal issues .. 😱)
Yeah OJ was pretty cool except for the murders and beating up women.
I told her about him, but I don't know enough about the case 😅 and she didn't recognize his name
Was funny in the movie though 😅🤦🏻♂️
I would say judging by the intro, you have already gotten most of the jokes of film. Not everyone nowadays even know who "Idi Amin", or ""Gaddafi or even "Gorbatsov" is!
Priscilla Presley- Elvis' widow.
Yeah, we just discovered this now, had no idea!
Not widow. Ex wife.
@@mildredpierce4506 oh ok, so they were no longer married when he passed away. By all the comments I really thought that she was still married to him
That is Elvis Presleys wife
We had no idea! 😅
Ex wife
Just imagine if americans drove stick shift... the teen would have much more difficulty....
😂😂😂
when i was taking driver training in high school,
the boys were saying that girls couldn't drive a stick shift,
so my uncle let me take his '66 Pontiac GTO to school
& i taught all the girls how to drive stick
& all the boys & male teachers were jealous 😂
You cut the "nice beaver!" part. Everybody leaves that part for the shock value.
Can I suppose you don´t know the word "beaver" refers to women's genitalia? It seemed Frank was looking under her dress and commenting on her vagina, and then it was an actual stuffed beaver.
We were kinda familiar with it, but yeah, didn't work as well for us 😅
and this why I don't watch these kind of movies with my gf anymore.
where is part 2? clicking the link doesnt take you to it.. its broken?
Edit: nevermind, i found it.. might want to fix link in description - ua-cam.com/video/hWa84M7vHIs/v-deo.html

@21:30 It’s not that huge.
For a statue! 😂
Too much talk about product tuned out
am i the only one who she reminds me of young denisse richards ?so attractive
No
if you watch their My Cousin Vinny reaction,
she looks like Marisa Tomei haha
