Replacing Interior Lights with LED's - 2021 RAV4 Prime

I replaced all the interior incandescent lights with LED's. They are all 6500K color temperature - bright white, and the project was relatively easy.
I used the following kit of LED lamps from ebay: ebay.us/b5DPbv
The dome light was very dim, so I replaced just that bulb with a much brighter one from Amazon: amzn.to/3PXJgdg This 2-pack of the dome light bulbs costs twice as much as the whole set from ebay above! But I think worth it for the light output.

You did correctly. I followed another youtubers that went through only removing the lences, but i broke some tabs. First car that i see that to replace bulbs you need to remove the whole assembly.

Hi Phil, Thank you for your insightful video. I bought a 2021 RAV4 Prime in June 2021 from a NEW JERSEY Toyota dealer and am thinking of replacing all the bulbs. Does this eBay kit come with marks on each bulb that show it is for a dorm light, trunk light, etc.? How do we differentiate?

Hi, thanks for watching my video! The bulbs are all shaped in such a way that you will see which goes where, as you take out the original bulbs. Although, recently I updated the descriptions for this video, that the dome light did blow out twice, and it was somewhat dim so I bought a higher lumen bulb for a lot more cost but it's quite bright. Hopefully it will last longer! A new link for that dome light is updated in the description section . Thanks!

thanks for the super helpful video. Just want to caution folks to go with a more expensive option as these cheap set of lights have already started flashing and I have had to replace them after 9 months. Not a big deal because they are so cheap, but I don't like making the effort to change them as it can be a tricky changing the map lights. So I just bought some more expensive ones and hopefully they will last longer?

I haven't had problems with mine - I did have to replace the dome light once but the others have held up fine, and it's been a year and a half. But you could be right that more expensive ones might last longer. Keep us posted in about a year!

@@dsheehan66 You might be right. Although when I got the more expensive one for the dome light, it looked IDENTICAL to the cheap one. It did have a higher Lumen output but otherwise indistinguishable. Go figure, right? Anyway, thanks for watching and for your comment - I appreciate both!

Ooh, sorry to hear that. If you mean the red clips for the main center light console, I think you can find those on Amazon, or you can go to the local Toyota dealer parts department and ask to get some. I don't know how much they would charge, but maybe they would just give you a couple. Good luck!

How did you manage to break those two rivets? What would you have done differently? I’m in no rush to change the OEM bulbs since I want to use them some more before I replace them.

I'm not understanding. The last light I replace is the trunk light, and I do show that, starting at the 10 min. mark.
