This was a fun video to watch! We've stayed on both sides and Kaanapali wins for us too. We get the same amazing experience at half the cost, especially since we always get a car and can drive south to enjoy Wailea's amenities.
this became one of my favorite channels on youtube lol, you guys are just great. just got back from kanaapali 2 weeks ago back to rainy NYC, already nostalgic about it back to watching your videos, definitely going back for a longer trip next year, gotta make it at least 2 weeks this time, didnt get to do the full road to hana, only got up to twin falls and just a few stops after, stayed at aston kanaapali shores but maybe next time we'll stay at kaanapali beach hotel since its in walking distance to black rock beach, where i got to see the most turtles, no turtles at mackenna beach :( we stayed almost the entire trip on black rock beach thanks to you guys, i got to see the same amount of different fish right there at black rock just the same as if you were to snorkel at molokani crater, we did the molokani redline rafting 2hr snorkel tour just as you suggested :) got to see whales on the way back to shore and they even stopped the boat and talked about whales for like 20 minutes, so if you do just that tour its not really necessary to do a separate whale watch tour, cause you're getting to see whales for free basically, its a 2 in 1. honestly molokani crater has the same diversity of marine life as black rock, the only difference is i got to see an eel but really its all the same fish as in black rock beach, minus the turtles. black rock is FULL of them, as soon as you step into the water. plus its great that you have the sheraton right there you can always go get a cocktail and go back to the beach. i dropped your guys' channel name everywhere, thanks for all the tips, made our first hawaii vacation SO much easier! next time ill buy your guides. all the best of luck to you!
We are glad to hear your trip went so well. Well done on planning it and yeah, Black Rock is a wonderful place to go. Thanks so much for watching and subscribing. Enjoy getting ready for your longer trip next time.
We did Kaanapali for a couples getaway and Wailea for a family vacation with the kids. Can't go wrong with either of them, or Hawaii in general. Cheers.
The westinn hotel is shown, Maria Menunous recommended that hotel. I dont know the land and want to be so respectful of the events and residents. I dont travel a lot but i know Maui is healing. 🕊 i just want to be with nature in the sun loving on the land 2024. Thank you guys so much!! Thank you for your newsletter! My heart is with Maui ❤
As always, a great video!! Guess it will be a little more of a challenge creating videos from the mainland, we appreciate all your hard work. Thank You
You guys are the best! It is always pleasant to watch your videos about Hawaiian islands. Recently visited Maui with friends and family and I was awestruck by the beauty and serenity. I am very impressed by your video-making skills , narration, research, and overall how well you put the information together and make convincing points! Best Wishes
thanks so much, that is very kind of you. We enjoy making these videos and editing them. We pride ourselves on all original film and footage of the locations. thanks for watching!
Always so grateful for your very informative videos. Thank you so much. We just came back earlier this week. Stayed in Kaanapali and were a bit unlucky with rain. Definitely rains less often down south in Wailea. We’ll try it next time when we win the lottery. 😂
It has been a very wet winter on Maui. I just sent our newsletter out with things to do in the rain as the rains just keep coming. I hope you still had a great time!
Thanks for wonderful information and lovely videos. Going to Maui for first time and we are on budget. Wondering if we stayed in not so expensive condo, can we use the pools of the luxury resort or hotels as public? in other words, can we day visit the resort and enjoy the restaurants and pools and do not stay in the expensive resort (go somewhere else for sleep) ?
Thank you for the vidéo. We will be in Maui for 9 nights in midi septembre. Did you suggest to stay at the same hotel for 9 day's or it's better to split the half of our star un kaanapali and the rest at Wailea?
We like to split things up. We also sometimes stay at a vacation rental for the more adventurous/ go go go part and then do a relaxing resort for the rest
They are busier now that Lahaina restaurants are closed. See our travel update here and watch our West Maui things to do as we highlight local restaurants in West Maui: thehawaiivacationguide.com/lahaina-maui-fire-update/
Thanks for asking! We stayed in Ka'anapali Beach Resort in early November. See our Maui Travel Update for what to expect when staying in Ka'anapali for the foreseeable future: thehawaiivacationguide.com/lahaina-maui-fire-update/
Kaanapali is a resort area while Kihei is a town with shops and restaurants. Kihei has well priced vacation rentals. Here is a Kihei thing to do article with a video to get you familiar with it: thehawaiivacationguide.com/14-amazing-things-to-do-in-kihei/
Love your videos! We just got back to rainy Seattle from Ka’anapali and appreciated all the tips we got from you guys before we went. Thank you! (It’s “versus” not “verse” when you’re making comparisons. 😉)
thanks for the correction! I'm glad you had a great trip to Ka'anapali. Bummer, I can't change the verse in the beginning of the video now but I changed the description.

Food truck park at Costco is where to go... pass on restaurants. haha.
a lot of great food truck parks on Maui, they are a great way to eat out!
My vote is for Kihei!
@Jaybo that can happen anywhere IMO.
@jaybo24-7Did you record it for TikTok? You could get rich. Lol.
Headed to Napili this August! Can’t wait!
Enjoy Napili! such a beautiful spot
Thank you so much for this updated version! We're excited to return to Kaanapali. Keep up the great work!
We did Kaanapali for a couples getaway and Wailea for a family vacation with the kids. Can't go wrong with either of them, or Hawaii in general. Cheers.
Exactly, two good choices
Great to meet you today at The Royal Hawaiian!
It was good talking to you too! Have a safe flight home!
I’ve got to vote on Kanapalli
all votes for Jordan's side are welcomed!
Great info. Thanks
Thanks for watching! Enjoy your trip
Your videos have been an excellent resource for me in planning my honeymoon. Staying at the the fairmont kea lani in a week!
Enjoy your honeymoon! we have a video on the Fairmont coming out soon. We liked staying their and loved their suite.
Kapalua Bay is the crowning jewel of Maui. So, if you can't decide between Wailea and Ka'anapali, just head up to Kapalua. ;)
it is lovely up there! weather can get a little wet and windy but I like how naturally tropical and lush it is.
No way. It rains too often up there 😉

We stayed in Kaanapali at Kaanapali Beach Hotel! We loved it!!
such a classic and wonderful location!
Thanks. That was very helpful
thanks for watching and for the comment. that helps us out!
Great video as always. I'm going back and forth between the two. I usually stay at Sigar Beach
Sugar Beach is a good in between!
As always, a great video!!
Guess it will be a little more of a challenge creating videos from the mainland, we appreciate all your hard work. Thank You
Thanks for watching! We are heading back to Hawaii often to stay fresh!
Planning on Maui for January 2024 and I’ve been watching your videos non-stop! Thanks so much for all the info.

yall need to talk about the food trucks in the costco in maui. best ribs i ever had and i am from kansas! also great food variety
We have a maui food truck video and article where we talk about that!
Worst food mentioned ever. Born and raised in Maui. 9 generations
You should open your own resort. Would come for sure with my family!
we love that! thanks for the idea. I have a lot of respect for restaurant and hotel proprietors, it is a tough job.

I’m not aware of any resorts in Maui that offer day passes. Kauai has a couple and they are about $100 to use the pool.
We’ll live in Kihei and staycation in Wailea 😉
Great video!

Ka'anapali Beach Hotel in June 🌴
enjoy! I hope you booked their remodel rooms! we stayed in their older rooms. They were good but definitely worth upgrading to their new ones.
Ka’anapali!!
What about now, update please!!
Thanks for asking! We stayed in Ka'anapali Beach Resort in early November. See our Maui Travel Update for what to expect when staying in Ka'anapali for the foreseeable future: thehawaiivacationguide.com/lahaina-maui-fire-update/

Just curious what region you guys reside in in Maui?
we have recently moved to the mainland to be closer to family but we lived in West Maui
Im here in Maui, can I bring cacao fruit to mainland?
No, but check here for details: www.aphis.usda.gov/aphis/resources/traveler/hawaii/hawaiian_products
Are the beaches back. I was there a few months and the beaches had sand bags and not much sand at the beach.
Love your videos! We just got back to rainy Seattle from Ka’anapali and appreciated all the tips we got from you guys before we went. Thank you!

Which parent bribbed the baby boy????????? ice cream, chocolate?
haha, I can see Erica doing that
Versus, not verse
thanks! our mistake and can't change it now!
@@TheHawaiiVacationGuideNo need to even worry about it. Everyone knows what you’re talking about.
