I have the black one with the leaver you push up like the one at the start of the video it's fit for purpose and only 30 quid nice demo gents keep them coming
Panduit's PBTMT or PBTMT/E battery operated gun does exactly the same and is a great fit when installing large volumes of thicker metal ties. Great tool if you want to avoid the hand fatigue which comes from ratchet tools!
I have to say I agree with Gordon, that is a good tool if you use a lot of metal cable ties, The on for plastic ties is a waste of money and pointless s as you can get a clean flush cut with a pair of nail clippers or that knipex flush side cutters witch is a fantastic addition to your tools bag . Fantastic video guy’s as always 👍👍👍❤️
The cable tie gun seems really good. I'm glad there isn't a short bit left sticking out after cutting. The gun I use does leave a small 'razor blade' sticking out (I saw the youngster using the same tool, at the start of the video). It looks much easier to fit cable ties on that cable tray.
I'm sure that is a useful tool when doing a lot of steel cable ties. I assume no trickery is going on here, because when he tensioned the first steel cable tie, it looks like he barely pulled on the tail end to make it tight. Any tool could make that a tighter connection.
To release a fitted metal cable tie, simply insert a new metal cable tie into the slot where the old one is, then pull the original tie out to release it.
Cut my wrist open from some idiot not doing steel ties properly and there was a nice pool of blood on the factory floor. Had to run downstairs and clean it up before the clients noticed.
Unless you seriously need to use these on a daily basis these are way beyond the price point of the occasional user, which in reality is less than 90% of electricians. 🤷🏻♂️
Excuse my ignorance, but who are these videos made for?? Sparks should already be aware of all this. Doesn't matter if you're industrial, commercial or domestic. If it's for the benefit of 6 month cornflakes box sparks NO NO NO sorry but you've got no business being in the trade

As far as my memory goes back, even as far as 1970, In New Zealand there have mainly been metal cable clips used here.

Will they tension plenty tight for cv axle boots and to use as hose clamps?
Was just wondering that too 😂 tried it yet?
@@lordshredsworth7772 no, I was wondering for future reference. Didn't have any projects yet.

They should be easily opened with a pin to push ball back to open ,
can be used on vehicle cv booth instead of clip type that come with them,

Okay guys. Thank you for the demonstration and explain
you can undo metal ties by sticking another metal tie in the back to raise the pin and it slides out
To release a fitted metal cable tie, simply insert a new metal cable tie into the slot where the old one is, then pull the original tie out to release it.
You can reopen these ties if you Push another into the side opposite the side you have the excess
Placcy cable ties can be dangerous if not cut flush, these metal ones can do some real damage.

Any time you use plastic trunking above MT2 you need them now to avoid premature collapse. Better than all round band & don’t rust!
