This would've been useful a few months ago when I spedrunned through halo 3...
I finally just started learning the speedrun for this game. Got the chasm jump in only the third attempt on my first (co-op) run. Now that I'm trying a solo run I just can't get the launch to work. Half the time it doesn't launch me at all and the other half it either doesn't launch me far enough or it launches me into the cliff wall so that I ricochet into the water. My beginner's luck has ran out.

I f#cking hate this hammer jump did it the 1st try and have never been able 2 again god forbid they base the 3 hour challenge on skill instead of luck and glitchy BS

Just tried this for the first time because I had seen it done before. It took me a couple of tries to get it. I did it on the Xbox 360 version of Halo 3 playing via backward compatibility on Xbox Series X. Thanks for the tutorial! Hope all is well with you, man.
You should also note that if you launch yourself too high, you will hit a death barrier and die mid-air. Also, it's definitely possible to do this on Halo 3 Classic, though the setup is slightly different.
how do you do it in the original?
HighestAlmond 75 You're gonna want to line up a bit more on the right side and look about 15-25 degrees to the right. Aside from those differences, everything is basically the same
Also, we've found some more technical stuff with hammer launches. General rule: looking slightly towards the right tends to give a better launch.
How come you don't use a capture card for livestreams I just find it a bit odd
He does when it's the ones that show show him shirtless I think.
+AwesomeGameplay He doesn't use a capture card at all I don't think. He streams this off of his xbox with out the kinect webcam then gets the footage off of twitch. Then when he is just streaming normally he enables the webcam.

I think you need to hit the button for loads but might try that with the new skull to see

a small tip for anyone running it since Halo 3 for PC is out, I had to move the vent piece a bit more to the left for the barracks skip.

+Inferno115 you don't need any special tricks to get the 3 hour cheevo on Halo 3, the only game I really needed the skips was Halo 2
