Perfect! My cookies are going to rock this year!!! btw, I'm doing Keto cookies and icing. Totally sugar free! Better for the overly-active kids and diabetics who love the holidays but not the sugar hang-overs. Thank you so much!!! 🦌🦌🦌🦌🎅🎁🎄⛄
Amazing work my daughters are ages 10 and 11 and they want to do what you do. Thank Goodness for these videos and you tube . I salute you and your talent keeping a mom like me from pulling out my hair lol....
If the bag is small like the one shown, your hand is easier. But you do have to know how to turn the bag partially inside out and make a hollow with a loose fist.
💖yes thank you for this video I'm doing a fun-raiser for my grandma and I'm planning on selling cookies. I can bake them but I didn't know how to frost them and now I know.💖
I’ve always wondered how to do this-turns out it’s pretty simple, if you use the right icing recipe! Thank you! Also, random, but you have very pretty hands, and that’s a very pretty color of nail polish on you! 😊
Starting a sugar cookie business and I know how to properly flood but it’s always good to learn new techniques, very helpful, thank you! I also love all your work, so nice❤️🍪
You make it look so easy! Ii'm taking my first cookie making class next Tuesday. It's Friday night, what am I doing? Binge watching how to flood cookies of course!🤣 Great video thanks for sharing!
Oh I'm sorry youre correct. I have MS brain and forgot. It's with the icing for 8-12 hrs. Lol your the best and have been a life saver when it comes to my baking skills. Thank you so much Mary 🥰
Going to try a second attempt with decorating cookies using royal icing. First one did not go the way I expected. I will refer to your videos as I do it lol
Great video!! Do you ever use a dehydrator instead? If you’re using a dehydrator for the flood consistency base layer to dry, somewhere between 90-95*, how long do you recommend them to dry before the next layer? And then something I’ve been learning recently is that if you’re going to put a layer on top of this, if it dries too much, it can cause cratering in the layer above... what are your thoughts on that? Thanks so much! Keep up the awesome videos!
Thank you for this! When you say to leave the cookies over night to dry, will they go stale left on the worktop? As it’s hard to get them all in a container with the wet icing xx
Great video. May I ask, in the second demonstration (tipless bag), did you use two different bags? Just wondering if you used a bag cut with a larger hole after you did the outline. (Icing seemed to come out a lot faster.) tia
Hi Val, once decorated you can freeze them. I heat seal my in clear bags then place them in a sealed tupperware with no issues. When you remove them from the freezer, keep them sealed in the tupperware overnight before opening the lid!
Can I ask what is the difference between using a tip and not using one is?. If you've cut the hole small to do outlining how come there's more when you flood surely all that doesn't come out the small hole. Hope I get as good as you one day
My floods have air bubbles on more than one occasion. I let the icing rest, I pop the air bubbles while they rest with a damp paper towel, I fill the bags and then even helicopter them around. Is there anything else I can do to prevent this from occuring?
@@EmmasSweets that's doesn't make sense. The cookie needs to air dry for 8-12 hours before icing as you said. So I'm also wondering now what you actually mean.
@Ashley Irwin you can ice the cookies as soon as they have cooled. Once you ice them, they need to air dry for 8 to 12 hours for the icing to be completely dry. They don’t get stale at this point because the icing protects the moisture in the cookie. Hope this helps...
Perhaps it is the brand. The ones that I use right now are these howsweetisthat.ca/on-line-store.php#!/Tipless-Piping-Bags/p/47117415 when you snip of the tip and push the icing through, squeeze the tip and it will round it out again.. so hard to explain lol
Hey there! I’m not sure if this fixes your issue but the “bag tip gets flat” - I’ve been instructed to make sure the seam is upright at the top, so you cut OVER the seam. If you cut your tip and the seam is on the left or right side, it makes a weird angle with the tip and makes a weird shape to the icing coming out. Does that make sense?
Excellent tutorial!!! My only negative is that I didn't care for the music, but easy fix was to just turn volume off. Other than that ... this was a great video!!
Same here, I usually put less than half of the sugar called for in the cookie dough so then when I ice it, it kind of evens out. Try it and play with the ratios to see what works for you.
Put the icing in the middle of saran wrap, then roll it up and put it in your piping bag- less mess, then just cut the tip when you cut the cuppler tip...smarter not harder ;)
sorry I'm 3 years late lol but it usually means your cookie is not equally leveled as a whole. Your dough has to have the same thickness. You can overflow it I guess but everytime it happens to me it's because of the first thing
I just LOVE your work😍
For the tip less one did you squeeze harder to fill it in or did you cut farther
Perfect!

Saw you on the cookie challenge on food network, and I thought your cookies were amazing. I see you are indeed an artist. God bless🕊
Wow. I am going to attempt to make favors for my sons christening reception. Thank you. Emma
Thank you! So we can use the same consistency for outlining and filling?
Amazing to watch, thank you I'm just learning and need all the tips I can get.
You’re amazing and do talented!
Set your bag in a glass while filling - it's a lot easier
If the bag is small like the one shown, your hand is easier. But you do have to know how to turn the bag partially inside out and make a hollow with a loose fist.
In a cup is easier if filling the bag fuller, but this method is great for when you aren’t filling up your piping bag..
So very helpful!! Thank you for taking the time to make these videos!
Thank you for watching!

This was so helpful to me! Thank you! I have been trying to find a tutorial on tipless piping forever!
do you use the same icing consistency for outline and flood?💓
No the outline should be a lot thicker than flood
Thanks for sharing this video Emma. Do you use the same tip/ bag to flood and pipe?
I use the same tip to outline and flood yes! (My name is Mary - Emma is my daughter ;)
Love this video much needed thank you! Looks easier than done for me, my cookies always look a mess, I will try theses
So the icing used for the outline doesn't need to be a thicker consistency than the one used for flooding?
+.INZANE PANDA . No it doesn't ...if you find it running off the edges, add a bit of icing sugar to thicken it up ;)
Emma's Sweets Thank you!
Thank you for that! Just started and my icing KEEPS running over. Makes me so sad!😞 but maybe I'm just watering it down too much

What is a scribble tool and can I use a pin if I don't have one? Thank you. Loved this
It is called a scribe tool, you can use a toothpick as well!

I have store bought icing and its kind of firm so should I melt it? Because when I pipe I can’t even smooth it out

Depending on your recipe, they usually won’t get stale after one night. Unless your dough was very dry before baking.
Wow u r so creative
Can I ask why you used the same consistency for outlining and flooding please
I love your video what is the recipe for your royal icing
Great video. May I ask, in the second demonstration (tipless bag), did you use two different bags? Just wondering if you used a bag cut with a larger hole after you did the outline. (Icing seemed to come out a lot faster.) tia
Thank you! I use the same consistency to outline and flood. When I am filling the cookie (flooding), I use more pressure while squeezing the bag :)
Five years later but thanks for asking this question.
You can tell the sugar in my icing what did I do wrong? Your work is beautiful!!
I sifted my sugar per someone's suggestion and it came out smooth.
Should use powdered sugar not granulated.
do you use different consistency for piping and flooding
This is so satisfying to watch
Not only was that delicious looking - my mouth was watering, watching that. But for me, it was really relaxing to watch. Thumbs up!!
very relaxing.

@@anna_grace_ THANKS Penny! I just fixed that bot to but! :-)

Do you have a recommendation for the cookie recipe?
Do you outline and flood with the same consistency?
Yes I do :)
Where did you buy those icing bags? They look a lot easier to use?
there is a link in the description :)
Hi thanks for sharing will surely try it. 🙂
ty..trying to make cookies for my sons birthday party. do you think i can freeze these after decorating and they last for a week
Hi Val, once decorated you can freeze them. I heat seal my in clear bags then place them in a sealed tupperware with no issues. When you remove them from the freezer, keep them sealed in the tupperware overnight before opening the lid!
Great video! How long should you let the first layer harden so you could write say for example a name on top of the white icing
it is suggested at least 8 hours to overnight
Me puedes decir k número de boquilla es por favor para aser la orilla y para rellenar
do you use the same icing to flood and outline
Those cookies could be sold as tiles...wow !
Can I ask what is the difference between using a tip and not using one is?. If you've cut the hole small to do outlining how come there's more when you flood surely all that doesn't come out the small hole. Hope I get as good as you one day
Do u have a video showing how to make the cookies
At this time I do not. But thank you for the idea :)
For the 8-12hrs on the counter top or in the fridge?
i really want to try tipless decorating
You will never use tips again! (unless for flowers and fine details ) :)
Is the icing consistency same in piping as flooding?
tip-less piping--- love it!
thank you for this video, this was very helpful 😀👍
Thank you!
Thanks for the video. Why do you prefer tip less over tips.
How long does the icing take to dry completely?
how to make royal icing
Very nice video. Thanks for sharing.
How did it now spill over the edge?
I just dip the cookie surface into the icing mould, turn out neat and nice,, this one in video seems so time consuming😅

how long do you let them sit before you can paint on them
I allow them to completely dry overnight prior to painting on them
You have a video how to make the royal icing?
I do not have a video on how to make it, but this may help.. ua-cam.com/video/_eGFTz-Hs6s/v-deo.html
Can I use pillsbury creamy supreme cake icing for this?
may i know wat consistency of icing iz?
Hi....question when air drying....how do you air dry it for 8 to 12?....wouldn't the cookie get stale?
+Iris V it doesn't get stale. The icing on the cookie keeps in from drying out

If it takes 8 hours the icing to dry, what about the cookies?will they stay crunchy n crispy if exposed to air?

very good for kids
What size tip did you use?

How to Can I avoid to have bubbles in my royal icing
I find that I only get air bubbles if the icing is too thin and runny. Try using a thicker flood
is this icing good.sugar veil does not taste good
