Didn't they even use a proper torque wrench when setting those too? Would be hilariously dark if the one to back out was one they didn't just ugga ugga on. lol
I cringe every time I see the mate the trans on the floor and use the impact on the flywheel bolts. Such expensive parts and can’t take 5 min to torque them with locktite. Causes rear main leaks too if way over torque on just one.
@Origins Garage yes but if I remember correctly when I done my clutch these bolts only go to 60ftlbs ish so their probably thinking if they ain't that tight then why would they need to use locktite but obviously it's the harmonics that backs them out.
@Origins Garage plus they reuse these standard bolt which wouldn't really be problem on 99% of cars but when you hitting 8-9k with 4-1000whp it's going to be become a weak point.

It's still labled an STI. I'm sure his title and registration still says Subaru STI. I have some 3 years old plastidip on my wheels and it's still like the day I applied it (even after many high pressure washes and winter driving). I'm currently correcting some curb rash with leftover plastidip, something I couldn't do if they were still stock.

there used to be a 16" wheel setup that fit the STI/evo calipers back in the days.. a lot of autocross guys were running them. I don't know if there is still something available

I was thinking a pressure plate bolt, had one fail on me before and it hit the bell housing, would explain the sparks

Maybe mating the trans to the engine with an electric ratchet wasn't such a great idea lol
Providing it has clearance in the bell housing, when the clutch is aligned properly, you can push them in place. No need to pull it in with bolts.
Brent just did that installing the trans on the Tavarish Honda, it was fully mated when Jamie screwed a bellhousing bolt in it.

Those ET Street Radials are amazing, I have some on my 800hp Sierra and hook like a dream. I have mine at 18psi
I ran Micky Thompson radials at 20 psi on my 200sx for about 4 months the side walls had cracks all the way round
