So sad to see Emilio! You will get it to work again. When I looked up where you have a lot of sequential gearboxes used is in the WRC Ralley car kind of competions. And to make them last the break in period is very important followed with gearoil change after this period. It's recommended to get some miles on every gear so any of the metalls from the manufacturing gets worn off. They even suggest that if you miss a gear shift you should change the gearoil as soon as possible. Cause you will proberly knock some metall loose and with the oil breaks down in it and you gets an abrasive gearoil instead of a lubricated one. Also the quality is very important to have the right one for the sequential gearboxes to work properly. Omega 690 or Readline Shockproof or a gearbox oil that's classified GL5 or higher. Another thing is how your gearbox mounts are on the Hondaru. Cause if those moves any way even the slightest you will be binding up the gearbox shifting. Look so you have it not moving up or down and that the engine mounts handle the side to side and the rotation force. So I suggest that you take a closer look at the gearbox mounts and if they looks like they need to be more solid and even where they are mounted to needs to be beefened up I would do that. This is a huge reason it's basicly a race gearbox and not used in the newer cars. Also look up the ignition cut for when you shift so you have the millisecunds put into the management box. Lastly take a look at the shifter adjustment. From the gear stick in it's neutral position. You should have the same length of the gear shifter when it's pulled and pushed when the engine is not running. Maybe also look up if your gear selections need to be assisted or done with pneumatic shifting. So it's going fast enough inside of the gearbox to shift gears. And contact Matt again and go through everything what they recommend for their Quaife sequential gearboxes. Hope that you can find what's causes the miss shifting. And also that head I would send back and never use again. Something is very wrong in hardware of that cylinder head sadly.
Yes!!! In a previous video with them rippin around on the street when emillo shifted from 3rd to 4th the gear slector screen went 3,4,3,4 like it didnt know what gear it was in? I know if i had a dogbox id be changing the fluid and taken care of it like it was my first child. Lol

I think this was the original 4p head that broke and was fixed by a local machine shop. Still shouldn't have broken tho and they broke another one on the mr2

Ktuned supports them and they support Ktuned in return. But ask anyone that races Hondas, Ktuned doesn't actually make good quality race parts.

Agree there is nothing wrong with 4piston in general, but there is obviously something wrong with the 2 heads they got as they have had the same issue 3 times on 2 of the same heads purchased at the same time.

They got away from the stock heads and got two pos modified heads that keep causing issues. The block issues is a whole other thing. They’ll get figured out eventually
I hear KTuned is having issues in general with the reliability of their engines.. they should just go to a solid local engine builder who knows tried and tested Honda components and can actually spec everything with high-end measurement tools. These high HP Honda motors really need to be spec'd right to reliably handle that kind of power, especially in an AWD platform like Hondaru
the thing is people have been testing and running these engines in the 500-700hp range on super light FWD setups for a long time, it's tried and true. but when you get into heavier AWD setups pushing 1000hp, there are a lot less people out there doing that. but at the end of the day the exact same heads from 4piston has caused them to blow up 2 of hondarus motors, and the last minivan motor--- kind of just seems like a string of bad luck for these guys that can be a relatively easy fix moving forward
God damn right. Its one thing frying a head. You either bang a stick one on and it costs maybe $150-300. If the head causes damage to the piston and block, you could be talking thousands.

It's called half assed effort. They buy all this expensive stuff and slap it together without following torque specs and and making makeshift stuff. You can't expect that to last. Not to mention they're going full send on these with more power than they're meant to handle

My ej25 went 200k miles and never broke, I ended up rebuilding for more power. it's just like with 4g63, 3sgte, EJ25- if you start pumping power into these things without supporting mods then shits gonna break. 3SGTE would walk the crank, 4g63's would spin a bearing, EJ25's lift the heads or break piston rings. What you said just causes hate and drives Subaru enthusiasts away from their channel.

Maybe time to give a Drag Cartel head a try, or go back to a stock. 4P should be addressing this issue, whether its an assembly issue on the customer side, or a machining issue on their side. Because I've heard of others with the same issue, and no matter what is at fault, it makes their company look bad. Also pumped to see the hatch finally get some love again.

They got away from the stock heads and got two pos modified heads that keep causing issues. The block issues is a whole other thing. They’ll get figured out eventually

I hear KTuned is having issues in general with the reliability of their engines.. they should just go to a solid local engine builder who knows tried and tested Honda components and can actually spec everything with high-end measurement tools. These high HP Honda motors really need to be spec'd right to reliably handle that kind of power, especially in an AWD platform like Hondaru
the thing is people have been testing and running these engines in the 500-700hp range on super light FWD setups for a long time, it's tried and true. but when you get into heavier AWD setups pushing 1000hp, there are a lot less people out there doing that. but at the end of the day the exact same heads from 4piston has caused them to blow up 2 of hondarus motors, and the last minivan motor--- kind of just seems like a string of bad luck for these guys that can be a relatively easy fix moving forward
Broo those heads need to GO. if i had a head failure threaten a block i'd be selling it. Especially if stock holds up.

Yeah they’re still running the 4 piston heads. They need to throw that shit away and go with something else.
God damn right. Its one thing frying a head. You either bang a stick one on and it costs maybe $150-300. If the head causes damage to the piston and block, you could be talking thousands.

It's called half assed effort. They buy all this expensive stuff and slap it together without following torque specs and and making makeshift stuff. You can't expect that to last. Not to mention they're going full send on these with more power than they're meant to handle
I somewhat agree on the halfassing and pushing the limits. But they def dont ignore the torque specs. You'd have known that if you watched his older videos where he shows how he builds a motor.

My ej25 went 200k miles and never broke, I ended up rebuilding for more power. it's just like with 4g63, 3sgte, EJ25- if you start pumping power into these things without supporting mods then shits gonna break. 3SGTE would walk the crank, 4g63's would spin a bearing, EJ25's lift the heads or break piston rings. What you said just causes hate and drives Subaru enthusiasts away from their channel.

Maybe time to give a Drag Cartel head a try, or go back to a stock. 4P should be addressing this issue, whether its an assembly issue on the customer side, or a machining issue on their side. Because I've heard of others with the same issue, and no matter what is at fault, it makes their company look bad.
