I have the X-Spirit III and it was used as well to go to Nordkapp from Italy, ventilation is good so for hot weather I think I can recommend it, bad noise level as mentioned in the review.
Thanks for the comment! The X-Spirit III should still work reasonably well on the road and it will keep you safe and comfortable. The thing to keep in mind here is that it is a racing helmet so it is optimized for track and high speed riding, which will impact it's performance in aspects like ventilation and noise isolation. It's ultimately up to you if you want to use it for the road, it's just how much performance on the road you're looking for, and, if noise isolation is a factor, if you want to wear ear plugs. What do you think of the X-Spirit 3?
I have the X-Spirit 3 and it is great. I can't quite compare it to other helmets as I've only ever owned this one, but I can't go for long periods of time on the motorway without earplugs. Too noisy. However, it is extremely stable. I have a naked bike so no protection from the wind at all, but the helmet just won't move. Also shoulder checking at high speed is easy. The only downside is that if you have a bike with an upright riding position, the field of view below your nose is not great, as it is designed to be worn when tucked into a sport bike. And of course no sun visor.
Thanks for the comment! Our rider found the X-Spirit 3 did very well for aerodynamics and it was very stable. While we could only test it out on the highway, it should do even better out on the track. Which helmet do you prefer?
@@Championhelmets FWIW: I own both... on street and track the NXR is really good and the noise never bothered me at all, even without plugs; it feels very light but stable. I haven't tried the X-Spirit on the street yet, but just did a few track days and I find it vastly superior to the NXR in that setting: very comfortable, great field of vision, never had any sensation whatsoever that it was bothering me: felt very stable even at high speed and full acceleration, no buffeting or stress on my neck. The NXR is very good, one of the best I ever had... but the X-Spirit really gives me the 'extra' or 'premium' feeling... it's just expensive of course
I want to get a helmet , driving a nakedbike. Considering both of them and want to pair it with the transition visor. I guess getting the nxr is better value for money ? Im not racing on a Track
Hey there! The NXR would probably be the best way to go. If you're not racing on a track, then it will give you better value for money and have a bit more of a street riding focus in its design as well. As far as the visor, both helmets take a CWR-1 visor so there shouldn't be any problems there. You can find a photochromatic visor in our product bundles with both the NXR and the X-Spirit. Did any of the results for either helmet surprise you?
Thanks for the question! Yes, the NXR is the European name for the RF-1200, so they're regional names. Which of the two helmets are you thinking of going for?
Thanks for the clarification! The NXR uses the CWR-1 visor while the X-Spirit 3 comes with the CWR-F. However, the X-Spirit 3 can also fit the CWR-1. The difference is the CWR-F is the specially race designed visor
Champion Helmets - Yes, and the NXR can also fit the CWR-F. Swapping them makes the NXR look a little sportier/edgier, and the CWR-1 on the X-Spirit softens it’s angles a bit/looks good too ... 😎😉
@@Championhelmets it's actually quite complicated for customers.... the oem (standard) visor and the smoked/other visors don't use the same product code; had to return my 'free' visor and get the correct one. (your shop in Holland was very understanding and helpful)
@@joeridestrijcker445 That makes sense, especially since manufacturers also don't always put the information out very clearly. But we're glad everything worked out well, and we'll keep looking into how we can improve our site.
This is incorrect, the X-Spirit 3 and the NXR should both earn the same amount of stars. According to our newly updated matrix, both helmets actually earn 3 stars. You can see how they both ought to be graded in our best racing helmets of 2021 guide (ua-cam.com/video/46q0zOMbH0o/v-deo.html) where we've included our matrices in the interest of transparency. The black helmet looks so good!

Good review. I love the X spirit 3, but would it still be a good helmet for the road, since it's always called a high-end racing helmet for the track?

Good review! But how did the the X-spirit 3 do for aerodynamics with that large spoiler

Shoie GT Air-2 or Shoie X-Spirit iii which would be the best touring helmet....????

Glad to hear it worked out okay in the end, we would've gone for the NXR in this case too
Champion Helmets thanks for quick feedback ! 👍🏻
Is the NXR the same as the RF-1200 (just different eg regional names for the same model) ... ?! Good review! Thanks!

NXR isn’t actually as bad as I thought
I think the NXR has a different (CWR-1) visor, not the ‘same again’ (CWR-F) visor as the X-Spirit ... ?!

Nice Video. Is there a difference between the Xspirit inside the EU and the model outside the EU?
If both helmets have the same noise level of 103 dB, why did you aware NXR 2.5 stars, who X-Spirit iii only 1 star?
