interesting video. That looks like a wonderful place to grow coffee. I live in Canada, and have three large coffee trees that are 4 years old and are staring to grow seeds. Its engaging to see how others doing this. Thank you for sharing.
Thank you. I have my first berries from my first coffee plant grown from seed. It's been so long I had forgotten what the original seed looked like when I took it off a plant.
A friend gave me a 6 inch tall coffee tree over 11 years ago. It's not 6 feet tall and has produced lots of cherries. It spends June to September outside and then comes indoors for the winter. I'm waiting for it to produce enough beans for a cup of coffee.
Hello i am someone is growing wild coffee plants and right now their seedlings, some of them droop down and i dont know why, do you know how much water to feed to wild coffee seedlings each day?? Or how to grow correctly…?
Can't these be germinated in paper towels first? Or would the insanely slow germination time really be a reason as to why they ought to be planted directly in soil?
I wouldn't recommend eating the red part, there are often bugs or worms inside. The only things ripe at the moment besides coffee are some bananas, and avocados.
You can eat the red part, I walk through my coffee fields on a regular basis and can't stop chewing the ripe coffee beans...if there is a worm or a bug in there....well I guess it's got more nutritional value then... lol.... FYI.. ripe coffee beans are delicious
We have lots of wild coffee "weeds" growing everywhere around here, so you might try looking around your yard for wild coffee plants. If you find some, then the climate is probably right.
Hey Joel sounds like you maybe in Hawai’i? That insect damage looks like Coffee boarer, I’ve been farming on Maui for 15years and have started seeing it on my farm this year. A big help to the community would be to strip your trees and bury the beans at least 6 inches underground this could decrease the population up to 70%, Hawai’i University has helpful videos on UA-cam. Also try planting the whole fruit, I have seen much better results

Seeds found in grocery stores that are not roasted, can they be planted?

I can't wait to know if the over ripe fruits will grow better or not.
Coffee seeds take a long time to sprout, so I'm hoping the over ripe seeds will sprout more quickly.
