Yes, absolutely! The bipod is a bit weird, but apart from that, it’s an absolute gem in my collection. Just knowing that I own one of the few of these guns made makes me feel a bit proud. I paid roughly USD / EUR 2500 when I got mine (I live in Europe)

Fun fact: this gun uses the oldest round still in front-line military service, the 7.62x54R that was originally created for the Mosin Nagant -- which entered service in 1891. There are still Mosin Nagants in service with Russian and Ukrainian troops, too (or were, at least, early in that war), making it (since the retirement of the Lee-Enfield in 2014) the longest serving military firearm of all time.
@@StayGoldGun there is no question about the practicality and functionality of modern designs but they lack soul to be very fair... Mine are the Thompson, the MP40 and the G3, all with straight lines.
@AbbasBinYounas I completely agree. Those are great choices. This older stuff has more soul, and you can often see the character of the country it's from shine through in the design. You don't really get that with polymer and extruded aluminum.
Was für ein Tolles Scharfschützengewehr! Ein Verstorbener Kollege hatte damals beim Militär die Scharfschützenausbildung gemacht. Seine EX-Dienstwaffe war in der Küche aufgehängt.... Habe sie oft bewundert. Ich habe mir schonmal vorgenommen als Projekt eine K31 als Scharfschützengewehr umzubauen. Es gibt einige Kits, aber ziemlich Teuer. Wer weiss.... Irgendwann mal kommt es zustande. Originale sind schwer zu finden, und werden in Gold gehandelt. 1600-2400CHF.-
@@RaczBela1993 eigentlich nicht, heute 4500.00 da beginnt es und kann es in sehr gutem Zustand mit Ersatzteilen bis 6000.00 gehen. 1600-2000 war vor 15 Jahren. Die Teile von der K31 sind nicht kompatibel!

I was not expecting you reload Dragunov SVD with a mag, because most video games when you have a sniper, there is a scope make small space where you reload, so to reload your sniper, you have to put bullet by bullet until your weapon is full ammo
This is a Swiss Zfk-55, i have a link to my Dragunov video in the description, youtube makes it confusing by putting the link above in bigger letters. Both this and the Dragunov are more easily loaded with a magazine

You're right. It's a K31 with heavier barrel, muzzle brake, heavier stock, bipod, built in scope mount, and 15 degree twist to the receiver so ejected brass doesn't hit the scope on the way out.
@StayGoldGun Ah OK. My Uncle has a K31 and I forget what it's called, but he has another rifle that looks similar, but from what he's told me it's a refitted version of an even older rifle. All 3 look very similar though. Next time I head up to his place I'll figure out what the specific designation is.

It retains zero really well in that mount built into the receiver. It was the policy of most militaries for their marksmen to remove the scope from the rifle to protect it in transport.
@hohuy1469 definitely. I have a scope case for a hensoldt z24 that's just like this but made of plastic. So I think militaries continued this practice for years after this
You could make it even nicer by drilling a weaver scope mount on there, and trashing that junk old wooden stock and throwing a synthetic one on instead. Dremmel down a mosin synthetic stock and jb weld it in place, it'll be just fine.
For sure, plus get rid of those iron sights and install rail to mount polymer flip up sights. Gotta figure out a way to get it to take pmags too. Then you've got a nice rifle

I've seen some very rare cool stuff butchered. I saw a Valmet m/62s, 1 of 1200, with barrel chopped off and flash hider pinned and welded on it, charging handle from a galil welded on, and galil folding stock added.
@user-jc4yv7eg7c I love the K31, I have 4 now, I can't resist a good deal on one. I bought 3 when they were 300-350. I still feel like even with higher prices these days, it's one of the best, if not the best, rifles you can buy for the money.
@@StayGoldGun I love mine too. I tightened up the screws as mentioned by n the Swisthe K31 thread (Swiss Rifles). I like full power ammo. My Ar’s and AK type rifles I e shot ip all my Gp-11 except one unopened case. I love the black waxed box with the waxed pink thread with seal. Yes I already told the wife of the value. I’ll never open that case. Yeah full power rifles take more concentration and I like that. I can hit steel with my AK type rifle at 200 yards still. Soon I’ll be 72 and won’t stop trying to Reach out there.

Sounds like you have a well-rounded collection and you actually get out and use them, the best part! I first video I ever recorded and never uploaded was me showing how to tighten k31 screws and adjust the front sight with the tool for that purpose. Then grouping k31's with gp11. It was so awkward
@patthemad1182 that's really interesting. This is definitely Swiss, it's a sniper version of their K31 carbine they used from 1931 to 1957. The muzzle brake is inspired by the German Fg42 muzzle brake. It would be really cool if Germany used it at some point because there were so few of these made.

The Dragunov linked in this video definitely does. This one uses 7.5x55 Swiss.

Why would someone remove the scope from a rifle. That negates the zero. 😮

Because of the durability of the scope at that time was not as good as today, so it is better to keep it safe when not in use

They were made from 1955 to 1959. This one was made in 1958

I don't know, I've never messed with them. I can take a look at them, I imagine it's similar to the K31
