      @Eduard Kung I'm from Australia, I know you're no better. I've got TRS so life here isn't fun. I can't get medical treatment because I get refused service, I can't get a job because I was miss diagnosed with autism so no one will employ me. The pension is only enough for food. I'm missing the feeling in one of my hands because the police beat me up for fun. I haven't been able to sleep properly for ten years and I can't get sleeping tablets because the doctors say I'm a drug addict because I smoke weed to get to sleep.

      @@tristanbulluss9386 I mean, I get that people have bad lives outside of NK, and I'm not saying your situation is good by any means (I've been jobless for years so I hate our society as much as the next person), but individual stories are not the same as what's happening in NK. Nothing compares to living there. They are practically hostages in their own country. They can't speak their mind or they will be put in labor camps or executed. Joke about the Kim family and you and your family are dead. At least most of the world can talk about their government without being interrogated. North Koreans can't enjoy literally anything from the outside world. All they know is that their leader, who is basically a god, is protecting them from Americans and South Koreans trying to invade their perfect country and destroying it. While thousands of people slave in labor camps for doing anything remotely dangerous according to the government, or get publicly executed with everyone above the age of 12 being forced to watch. It's a real life dystopian country and anyone who has been able to get away from there is a hero for surviving and being free.

    • @harshmnr
      @harshmnr 3 роки тому +1

      The automatic translator isn't always accurate because it's basically like a robot and it probably can't easily hear/pick up what the human voices are saying. It's more accurate when a person who actually speaks those languages translates it and adds the captions manually.
      But also, in this case it might have something to do with the fact that the North Korean dialect of Korean is a bit different than the South Korean dialect, so maybe the translator is programmed for the South Korean dialect and doesn't pick it up right. But that's just a guess; it's also possible that they've lived in South Korea for a long time now and their accent has adapted.

    Could there be a video on North Korean defectors talk about pro Marxist/socialist views while being in America today. I would love to hear their take if there are any concerns or how they think it would/wouldn’t work since they have experienced nationalistic socialism. It doesn’t have to be like politically fueled with what presidential candidates are better, but more of their struggle in the country and how they are dealing with these types of views today. I love this channel and I have so much respect for defectors coming out of North Korea. Liberty is so important because without it I wouldn’t be able to learn and partake in this movement. I laugh, but I kind of understand it. When food is not a given for you, you could probably not imagine giving it to animals as anything normal.
    One question I want to ask them is, how do North Koreans know there is an "outside world" in the first place? I mean, everything is dictated by the regime anyway. I'd imagine the regime could just keep knowledge of any outside world covered up. Wouldn't they just say something like, "we're the only people around and this is the only place there is."

    I understand why and what they went through, but it's a bit sad they don't understand that life in not black-and-white. The story of that grandma that defected to South Korea and then back can very well be true. Many North Koreans suffer intense discrimination in the South, so it's not hard to imagine she was never paid and lived poor while there. This is not to say that the South is poorer than the North, but that individual cases of discrimination that lead to people having terrible lifes in "rich developed countries" do happen.

    It's hard to imagine this is happening for real, it sounds like the plot of a horror film. In the United States, we are getting a taste of what this can be like. Our current President demands complete loyalty and admiration, and we've seen how easily falling in to this sort of reality can happen, so many people are too afraid to fight back and just do what they are told like robots. Fortunately we value our freedom too much to allow it to become the norm. If it gets bad enough, an internal war could break out.
