No, unfortunately the heat didn't do anything. What I had to do was stuff a bit of quilt batting (from a fabric store) in there in a couple of places and that fixed the problem.
Nice video. Very clear and articulated well. You kind of lost me when you didn't show your 'foam ectomy' because it wasn't real clear what you did after the foam ectomy to the remaining foam? But thanks for the video!
For the bottom foam, there is a section that protrudes out (down) into the pan of the seat frame. I just sliced that part off straight so it's one thickness. This causes the foam that's left to sit lower in the pan by an inch or inch and a half. I also removed the entire pad that was in the back rest (lumbar) so you sit farther back and the sides bolster you more in turns.
As far as I know you can remove the wrinkles on this using a steamer. Upholsterers use a heatgun often. But a steamer is a safer option for the inexperienced. I don't think you need to stuff anything more or stick em
Hello, how does seat feels without back support? Is your body further in back so you maybe have more place between knees and steering wheel? Thank you for answering
@@OGPedXing I will be doing foamectomy next week, so I want so suck all the information from internet. What about pain in back? Some say, that after removing back foam, the longer trip was one big pain. Thank you again for answering.
@@Carhardporn speaking for just myself, a 2 to 3 hour trip was no problem, no different than normal. I don't really take it on day long trips though. I'd say you can sort of reverse it for that scenario by getting a lumbar cushion you can put behind you when needed. For me I really like the bucket seat feel, it means it holds me way better without having to brace a leg on the trans tunnel or grip the wheel so hard.
Well it's a little weird. I wanted a rubber style boot like what you see on 60's cars...this is a mercedes part but it was cheap. I got this amzn.to/2PcAlrD and it came with about 5 in the bag. They were smaller than I expected and I stacked 3 right on the normal Miata inner boot and then put the knob back on.
Oh whoops, that's what I have now. The one in that video is this amzn.to/32CfqBd. It was decent for the price but it tore eventually. Also you need something to mount it to, I had removed my center console and put a metal piece under the carpet.
They've been very durable and feel just like leather. If you park in the sun with the top down, the vinyl may be hotter than leather, but I'm just guessing, I haven't had a problem myself.
Genuine is very expensive but worth the money if you planning to keep your miata. Leatherette doesnt look that good at all I wish I could afford real leather and it looks classy as well
Will these work on cloth seats?
Hey I like the aftermarket seatbelts you have! Was it a direct fit or did it take some modification?
It was mostly a direct fit. These have one bolt to mount for the reel section and stock has two, but I've never had any issues with it moving around.
Hey, do you happen to have any pics of what the seats look like now that they’ve seen some sun? Has the heat helped abate some of the wrinkles?
No, unfortunately the heat didn't do anything. What I had to do was stuff a bit of quilt batting (from a fabric store) in there in a couple of places and that fixed the problem.
Awesome ok! Thanks for the reply!

Thank you for the additional info on the foam!

Hello,
how does seat feels without back support? Is your body further in back so you maybe have more place between knees and steering wheel?
Thank you for answering
I like it because yes, it does move you back and also it makes the side have more of a bolstering effect so you slide less in turns.

@@OGPedXing Ok, thanks for advices.
I will gona try it next week a hole, than finally will be able to downshift with hell&toe.
What shifter boot do you have, I want one!

So buying leatherette cover is good idea?
R they durable?
I am debating between genuine leather and leatherette
