I caught a young female in a local creek and put her in a tank with rocks and gravel from the same stream. I’m going for a natural scape. She loves to DIG! Always rearranging the setup! Fascinating to watch their behavior! She definitely has a unique “crayfishonality!”
@FarangDoingThaiStuff most crayfish will eat most plants. You'll just have to experiment if you want to attempt live plants with crayfish. I plan to try anubias with mine

Good recommendation friend, it looks like the Zebra Danios fish are very suitable to accompany the Crayfish that I have. But I'm confused about getting it because it's very rare in my area.
The careful selection of compatible species not only enhances the aesthetic appeal but also makes a harmonious ecosystem. My personal choice is probably the goldfish, it gonna be adding some color to the tank.
Back a couple years ago when I was in elementary school we had a project where we would have crayfish in the classroom for a couple of weeks. The problem was that the school only used little plastic bins and the crayfish had barely any space. After about a week most of the crayfish were either dead or had their arms ripped off.
As someone who has unfortunately put a betta and a crayfish please don’t put them together. My betta almost became a tasty snack for the crayfish. His fins were torn and ripped😢 luckily he made a full recovery in a new 10 gallon
My crayfish was awesome, his name was Shoresy. He was the runt of the tank was getting bullied out of food by the others. He was super aggressive the first couple months but he loved chasing a cube of frozen blood worms and eventually he got comfortable enough with me that I could feed him by hand where he’d come up and gently pluck the cube from my fingers, a couple times even eating in the palm of my hand. I tried getting him a mate but he had no interest in her and would dart away or stance up to her, then I split them up and sold her after they had a small fight. I also tried some kind of minnows before that but he figured out he could climb the plants to try to grab them as they went by 😂 He was really great with me after I gained his trust, but never seemed to care much for anything else. P.S. I always made sure to thoroughly wash my hands and forearms with water and scrubbing cloths before ever putting my hand into the water. I had a solid five and half years with that little guy, contrary to the fish keeper who thought he wouldn’t live a full life after the rough start.
I have many I keep several fish in my tank, mostly local fish such as Cichlid, Discus, Betta. Now I know, it turns out it's dangerous to mix it with crayfish. Sad 🥲

Finding the perfect companions for your crayfish tank can be both exciting and challenging
I keep mine with mosquito fish. He doesn't bother them. He gets plenty of food too so that probably helps
What about African jewelfish, will it work
Cichlids are a crapshoot because they are either too aggressive (most species) or too mild mannered (rams)
They will kill your crayfish immediately after moulting
Just watched a video where they had guppies with their crayfish and they had to take out the guppies as their fins were getting torn by crayfish!
