Amazing riding. Did it change the rear travel installing it? What's the eye to eye and stroke length on it? Any clearance issues? seems like a tight fit 😬
Thanks for the comment buddy 👍 I used the same 205x60 stroke length so didn’t increase the travel and yes, you spotted it, tight fit, but fits 👌If you run the water bottle cage/extender (I don’t) I’m not sure if there’s clearance for the piggyback chamber moving forward when compressed, so may not a good shock to fit if you run that 🤔👍
Get that X2 serviced, those slurping/sucking noises aren't normal. (except maybe in the bedroom😂) Ask for the 2024 seals as with the older ones you get that same noise back within 6 months.
Cool review 👍 So would you say its a serious upgrade from the standard air shock? I had the MegNeg fitted and found it made a surprising difference but guess this shock does similar 🤔
Thanks as always buddy 🫡 Definitely feels like an upgrade compared to the fox performance float x shock, way more supple, and harder to bottom out, love that 👌 Probably is similar to the negmeg upgrade, rockshox call it ‘touchdown’ technology in the vivid, never ridden a shock with that upgrade so can’t compare sorry 👍
I sent in my 2023 Fox X2 for warranty and they sent back a brand new 2024 with new internals. In the meantime, I ordered a Vivid so I wouldn't lose time riding. I've tested this back to back with the 2024 X2. It's my new favorite rear shock! It really blurs the lines of a coil. I miss the tunability of the FOX but the Vivid is sooo close to a coil. I would say there is Coil shock, then there is the Vivid, then there is the X2, then small air can shocks.
Thanks for the comment, I was impressed with the X2 (not the reliability though!) but the Vivid is everything I need in a shock 👌 I agree with your ranking buddy 🫡👍
Seems as plush as the x2 and ramps up nicely so performance is awesome 👌 100 hour service interval on the Vivid so can’t comment on service yet as too soon 👍

@ForestMountainBiker sorry mate which one feels more playful😅? I demoed the stock Trek and just couldn't manual it geometry of the trek wasn't ideal for me which could have played a role too.
@@rataflas Ah, I find the Trek playful but I've gone mullet and 160mm travel up front, stock the bike is full 29er and 150mm up front, those changes made all the difference for me 👍
@ForestMountainBiker thanks for the info. I have a slash but have been struggling with a knee injury since last season. I'm still young so I don't feel I need a full fat but I'm thinking about the exe and overstroking it to become my "recovery" bike. We will see how everything works out
@ForestMountainBiker also, you probably know but it's super easy to take the travel reducer out of the vivid. Same process as adding tokens. I'd be curious if the piggyback clears the frame
I have the deluxe select + that came on my exe first rear shock I’ve had they turned the rebound right down when I picked it up and all I’ve done is tweak the air pressure it’s been really good so far, I might upgrade my forks soon to lyrics drive train and maybe a longer dropper post 😅
Came for the review, stayed for the dad jokes😂
You’re welcome buddy 😂👍
Its incredible how quiet the vivid shock is 🤙
So quiet 👍 Thanks for the comment buddy 👍👍

Yeah due it's first service. Or maybe I like those sounds... 😅

Cool sounds a similar result to the Meg, likely better though 👍

what frame are you using the vivid in? wondering if it will work well in trek slash gen 5 and cannot decide between x2 and vivid
@@KUBS42 Trek Fuel Exe is the frame 👍 Tough choice, both great shocks 👌

@ForestMountainBiker compared to your Torque On is the main difference just in travel or is one more playful than the other?
@@rataflasFeels more playful for sure ✔️ 👍

Have you tried 65mm shock stroke on your exe?
No, I’m tempted though… 🤔

Your Float X2 is aerated. That is why is sounds like that. That isn't normal.
Fair, due its first service 👍
