I've read people complaining how Fern's annoying, getting mad all the time and poor Stark. But I think she's actually a perfectly written teenager of her age, growing up, coming of age and probably having her first crush 😊 Props to the author here, again.
Both things are true at the same time. She is annoying as hell. SPOILER She is the only person who made no friends in this entire arc. And she will continue doing it, almost making Stark leave the group. Even Frieren will notice that it's not okay.

Also about your spoiler: It wouldn't make sense for Fern to make friends like Stark and Frieren, she'd just established during the test that she literally doesn't even have a motivation for magic except to make Frieren happy. Hell, her own magic has no character even. She's a mirror of Frieren, just human. She's still learning how to develop her own character after growing up too fast, doing things for the sake of other people. It's just not what her character is for, to develop friends from a test; she lost everything in war from other people, not from demons like Stark and Frieren. She barely holds attachment to anyone else a part from who are in their party except for Heiter, which are enough strong bonds for her currently. Also, Stark didn't even think about leaving just because of Fern. It was quite the opposite so I'm not sure what your point about that was. He literally stood his ground and said that the reason he was still there is because of her, just that he asks for her to be more gentle with him like she asked him in the past. Frieren never said that it wasn't okay, she just said that maybe their party is a bit too strict for him since she assumed Fern and Stark were a poor match due to their little fights, but Stark said he didn't think they were. So yes, she is annoying and yes it's accurate for someone her age and past, but you make it seem like it's a bigger deal than it is with the spoilers lmao
I haven't read peoples thoughts about the show but I never thought for a second that there would be Fern haters. She is hilarious with how she gets mad about little things and pouts. The other characters care about her and that's why it bothers them when she gets mad and they have to try and fix it. She has to be the mother figure trying to keep the others on track. That can get annoying for her as well. Really odd that people hate on her.

Such an unthinkable statement, not desiring any spell, instead taking joy from finding them along the way. As a living grimoire, probably the most experienced mage in existence, Serie must've been deeply offended. 11:36 Frieren deleted that barrier like it was nothing 😂 so satisfying to see the cocky proctor eat his words. 17:10 Stark had the 2 best days of his life, no Fern to get mad at him 😂 That was so sweet, how everyone just enjoyed a good meal, Frieren realizing that things are better now (the food and flavours changing was a nice parallel to the old party vs the new one) and Fern being in a better mood after that delicious meal. 34:05 poor Stark walked straight into that trap. Yea, pick something and hope Fern won't get mad at you too! Episode 22 was so well done, our characters getting a chance to rest and recover, finding out a bit more about them, some much needed interactions with Stark - all in all a great episode. I would like to ask if possible for Magy to cosplay as Frieren in one of these videos please, she might pull it off in looking really good. Or perhaps both can cosplay? Maybe?... It would be awesome.
5:55 the thing is, in that situation he really wasn't. The barrier blocked the rain, and he'd moved them up enough that they couldn't make use of the water in the environment already. Without Frieren breaking the barrier or saving them another way, there's no way those two would've been able to beat him. They were just naturally at a disadvantage at the time.
