As an Australian history student, it’s really strange seeing an American do research in Australia and seeing you interact with some of the same archives I do haha. Hope you have a great time here 👍
First step, googling. This can be as simply as your broad field + grant. Or field + fellowship. Second step, finding the CV of a successful graduate in your similar field and looking at grants they won. Third step, OSU has access to something called the SPIN database (I'm not sure if other universities have this), which has a search function to find a variety of grants!
Hi! Oof I'm not sure as I am not familiar with Minneapolis! I would look up the standard cost of living in the city to see if it would be manageable - and even ask other students already in your program of interest if they feel the stipend is enough to live on.
Great video! I would love to see a video on grants for trips and paying the phd itself, also something on how you take notes of books and papers

G’Day Katherine, I start my PhD journey this week, my work is in mental health here in Sydney, I am an ex-pat from Ohio.
I also landed on WW1 as my research focus and I'm heading on an international research trip this summer! Best of travels !!
Ah fantastic! I hope you have a great trip!
Hope the trip is going well!
Thank you!! Hoping to post an update soon :)
Welcome to Australia 😊
What resources did you use to find external grant funding? (Outside of OSU)

@@KatherineWeiss Thats great! I'm considering applying to a PhD in Accounting program. I'd need grant funding for sure.
Hi Catherine! what do you say about a PhD stipend of $30k , to be in a city like Minneapolis. Is that enough to manage?
