Hey Guys, I really enjoyed this video and discussion topic!!! We need more!!! I have, in my collection, dozens of copies of all of Elvis’ LP’s from the 1950’s, but my prized possession is a totally stone Mint copy of the first album, “Elvis Presley”!!! In fact, looking at my albums rite now, most of my 1950’s Elvis LP’s are just gorgeous, “Elvis’ Golden Records”, “King Creole” and the second album, “Elvis”. About 6 months ago, I was blessed to find 3, Still Sealed, re-issued versions of: King Creole For LP Fans Only A Date With Elvis with the Red sticker “Stereo Effect Reprocessed From Monophonic”. ❤❤❤ Great video, Take care friends. 😊
Very enjoyable post. The US versions of 'Loving You' and 'Gold Records Vol 1' are so nice whereas the UK's (HMV) version of the first album, along with the British version of 'For LP Fans Only' have possibly better track selections... so probably about 50 / 50. I hadn't realised the UK version of 'A Date With Elvis' also featured differant songs. As Mark mentioned, finding a decent US version is quite difficult, so I was very fortunate to find the Canadian version inc' the gatefold sleeve and it's almost identical to the American release. David's UK copy of 'A Date With Elvis' looks stunning with the laminated sleeve. Thanks fellas, Steve (UK)
Thanks, early US copies are hard to find in my area(even repress from the 60’s), so I am trying to pick up as many original UK and German pressings as I can find in at least in vg+ condition. Not easy, but at least they are out there. After seeing this video I will really be on the outlook for early 60’s UK repress of some of the titles from the 50’s. Thanks guys.
Hi Fellas,I’ve heard Mark say once or twice that uk covers were flimsy but they didn’t split at ends and they were lovingly laminated, anyway love listening to fellow collectors, cheers lads
Great video guys..as a UK resident I would say that we got the better deal in this country..Only Loving You (US) tops our releases in my opinion, and for me,Golden Records vol 2 UK is the finest release of the 50s even if it was early 1960 when we got it.There's not many better SIDE 2 tracklists than this album has!!(UK) Keep up the great work fellas 👌
I love the English releases, I may be wrong but you seen to get a better product for your money except maybe the Xmas album of course . Maybe cause first couple released on the HMV label while in the US every album was RCA .
Elvis’ debut album should have been That’s All Right Blue Moon of Kentucky I Don’t Care if the Sun Don’t Shine Good Rockin’ Tonight Milkcow Blues Boogie I’ll Never Let You Go Just Because You’re a Heartbreaker I’m Left, You’re Right, She’s Gone Trying To Get To You Baby, Let’s Play House Mystery Train The 2nd Album should have been Heartbreak Hotel Blue Suede Shoes I Got a Woman So Glad You’re Mine Lawdy Miss Clawdy Money Honey My Baby Left Me I Was The One One-Sided Love Affair I’m Gonna Sit Right Down and Cry Tutti Frutti Shake, Rattle & Roll
Great video David and mark all good fun collection, Elvis music love your video you do help us Elvis fans out keep up good work take care

Nice finds, Frankie. Thanks for watching.
Hey guys, what a great video, very interesting re different releases between the US and UK! cheers!
Amazing to think those records had already been released before you bought that first copy of G.I. Blues, Mal. David
Hey David, yes you’re correct, although in 1960 I was only 15 years old and I didn’t even have a record player until I bought Stuck on You! LOL
Great video, really interesting. I’d forgot about the UK and US Gold Records being different.
That's right. In fact, we forgot to mention that GR2 is called Golden Records Volume 2 in the UK. Thanks for watching.
Great Video love watching you guys thank you!!
Our pleasure! Thank you.

UK Date is practically a different album to the US version. Cheers.

Red Dot label versions of several of those early UK records can easily be found and they sound just fine. Thanks for watching. David
Great video guys! I really enjoyed that… Adam

Covers from both countries had their good and bad points, same with Japan and probably other countries too. Thanks for watching. (David)

I think UK fans did better on the song choices and Rock 'n' Roll No.2 is my favourite cover, the first Punk cover.
Cheers, Steve.
Elvis’ debut album should have been
That’s All Right
Blue Moon of Kentucky
I Don’t Care if the Sun Don’t Shine
Good Rockin’ Tonight
Milkcow Blues Boogie
I’ll Never Let You Go
Just Because
You’re a Heartbreaker
I’m Left, You’re Right, She’s Gone
Trying To Get To You
Baby, Let’s Play House
Mystery Train
The 2nd Album should have been
Heartbreak Hotel
Blue Suede Shoes
I Got a Woman
So Glad You’re Mine
Lawdy Miss Clawdy
Money Honey
My Baby Left Me
I Was The One
One-Sided Love Affair
I’m Gonna Sit Right Down and Cry
Tutti Frutti
Shake, Rattle & Roll
I've often wondered why they didn't release all the Sun tracks as an album. Instant LP right there for the releasing. Thanks for watching.
