- Disney had a unique way of beginning his movies. Here are, to the best of my knowledge, all of the RKOs. I must give credit to Ortitle BuddyGuddy for the ones from "Saludos Amigos", "Song of the South" and "So Dear to My Heart".
The Fantasia RKO intro was so mysterious looking, I just couldn't help exclaiming, "Cool!" ^^
This is a goldmine. The animated features and Song of the South began so majestically!
I wish Disney would just keep these in. It's not like people don't know who Disney is or have to worry about paying money to RKO.

They do. If you watch several of these both on Disney+ and more recent home-video releases, you'll see the original RKO logo.
Before Disney•Pixar, there was RKO•Disney.
In fact, Disney was sorta Pixar when they made Snow White and RKO distributed the movie.

One of my favorite RKO Radio Pictures logos are Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Pinocchio, Dumbo, Bambi, Song of the South, The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad, Cinderella, Treasure Island, Alice in Wonderland and Peter Pan.

The reason why Disney started Beuna Vista is because most of the animated films released under RKO banner were either commercial failures or underperformances at the box office. Also, RKO Radio Pictures refused to distribute Lady and the Tramp because they though that the word tramp was an insult.
Yeah because during the 40s. Disney is pretty much struggling to make films because World War ll.

And guess what now Warner Bros. owns the RKO Brand and the cartoons and feature films well as MGM.
I dream to have the logo original RKO of Bambi, this logo has never included in blu-ray or DVD (and this is the only Disney animated features actually).
Dumbo has been the logo original RKO of the DVD and blu-ray release in 2011 only.
The 2017 Blu-ray of "Bambi" has the RKO logo restored.
But like Pinocchio and the 2001 print of Dumbo, it’s just the RKO logo tacked on to a Buena Vista reissue. The way to tell that is from Snow White to Make Mine Music, all Disney films had the Distributed By RKO Radio Pictures text on a separate card. From Song of the South to the last film to use the logo, The distributed text was added to the logo itself. Also from Pinocchio to Saludos Amigos, the text would also appear at the end.
I hope Disney will restore The Original RKO Radio Pictures opening logos for *"SONG OF THE SOUTH"* and *"SO DEAR TO MY HEART"* 2-Movie Collection on Disney Blu-ray and DVD release.
"Song of the South" is the first movie with *"Distributed by RKO Radio Pictures, Inc."* byline...
1:24-1:31 The RKO Radio Pictures logo from "The Sword and the Rose"(1953) appeared in one scene of "Shenandoah"(1965, Universal Pictures), when in the TV is airing "The Sword and the Rose"

As is with the Buena Vista logo, Alice in Wonderland has the longest time on this logo.
Not trying to be that guy, but The RKO logo for Fantasia was actually on the intermission title card itself not on its own card.
Also the Rko card on Song of The South was the first to have the distribution part on it.
Yeah, but the red logo was from Adventures In Music (1953) not Fantasia (1942)

According to Brad Jones in a recent "Cinema Snob" episode on "Zombies on Broadway", all of the Disney animated films and cartoons are from "Rocky Horror Picture Show" Productions.

I don't think Disney began restoring RKO logos onto home video releases of their films until 1994, with the Masterpiece Collection edition of "Alice in Wonderland."
Two questions about the "Snow White"-logo:
1) Did it appear at the very end of the film rather than at the beginning?
2) Is it included in the latest DVD/BluRay release of "Snow White," or is this recreated with background music?

What does RKO actually stand for?
It stands for Radio-Keith-Orpheum, because it was formed after the Keith-Albee-Orpheum (KAO) theater chain and Joseph P. Kennedy's Film Booking Offices of America (FBO) studio were brought together under the control of the Radio Corporation of America (RCA) in October 1928.

That's not the RKO logo for "Fantasia", that's from "Melody". The actual RKO logo from "Fantasia" was shown during the title card from that film during the intermission clip, and was green.

Actually, the DVD and Blu-ray releases of "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs", "Pinocchio" (both as of 2009) and "Fantasia" (as of 2010) have the original RKO logo, while DVD and Blu-ray releases of "Dumbo", "So Dear to My Heart", "Treasure Island", "The Story of Robin Hood and His Merrie Men" and "The Living Desert" don't use the Walt Disney Pictures logo at all. Also, the DVD and Blu-ray releases of "Bambi" (as of 2011) sadly don't use the original RKO logo at all.
For Bambi, the logo original RKO has never included in the DVD or blu-ray.
For Pinocchio and CInderella, the logo original RKO has included only in the blu-ray.
For "Bambi", the original RKO logo was included only in the 1997 LaserDisc release and the all-new 2017 "Anniversary Edition" Blu-ray release.
