As an middle-aged man, I found this video to be judgemental and not particularly stoic. Especially the wording used; "especially in women". I can't agree with that, these traits can be found regardless of gender, I have always had a lot of female & male friends throughout life, and several partners, and these traits can easily be found in both genders. I was also raised by a narcissistic father which harbored many of these red flags.
There's a lot of stoic philosophy channels out there, but I found stoicbond to be the better one, mostly free of judgement and one that actually seem to understand the stoic path. For me, this video feels like a mishap. It doesn't align with stoic principle to judge others so bluntly. But ultimately I think this video is more of an algorithmic experiment to capture a young male audience. Which is a good thing. In this modern age, a lot of people could benefit from philosophical guidance. Targeting a specific audience like young men isn't a bad thing per say. but I wish the content was worded differently.

    Hello, I’m a woman.
I watched this video with an open mind, maybe to learn or to just listen. I don’t consider myself toxic by any means, but it’s always good to take in information. Could this be applied to anyone, male or female? Sure, but I suppose directing the video into a specific category caters to a demographic that be more inclined to watch it considering the channel statistics. Either way, I’m well aware of my own values and don’t feel particularly attacked or offended by its existence. That does not mean I don’t agree with fellow women in saying these things apply to both genders, but the logistics are very reasonable and this channel’s content has always been fairly objective.
I love this channel a lot, though. Will you do any red flags on men that women should worry about?

I watched the entire video, despite the ill-worded title because I was curious if the red flags were really exclusive to women in ( what I’m guessing heterosexual relationships). The unfortunate part is that, all the topics are red flags for ANY partner, friend, or family member male/female, straight or queer. It would have been much better served to the community had it been presented that way. Stoicism communicates self reflection and inner development, but this video has taken those very important lessons and turned into a lesson for the fragile self proclaimed “alpha male” and it’s not a good look.

"Especially in women" repeated throughout. Implication being that in men these traits are not as destructive or harmful or that men don't have them? This is disappointing, because stoics were more than others willing to look at women as equal. Traits described in this video are equally seen in all genders, so pigeonholing women is coming across as misogynist. This is not a stoic approach. I am unsubscribing.

For now, I cannot waste my time with a creator who has such intense cognitive limitations as he has demonstrated here. @cindyrhodes, I apologize if the content came across as sexist - that was certainly not the intention. You're absolutely right, the principles discussed can and do apply to men as well. Stoicism teaches us about universality in virtues and vices, irrespective of gender.
I assure you that future content will address similar themes concerning men, ensuring a balanced and comprehensive perspective. It's important to me that the channel reflects the inclusive and universal nature of Stoic philosophy. How do you suggest we approach future topics to maintain this balance? Your feedback is invaluable. 🌟📚

@stoicbond Thank you so much for your perfect response! Stoic Bond is the FIRST Stoic channel that I discovered, and I always check for your videos. My hope for your channel is for it to be THE channel for Stoicism.
In the past couple of weeks, I have seen a number of "stoic" videos that either pertained specifically to XY chromosomes, and one of them even suggested how an older Stoic male should look for a younger female as a partner. Seriously, I know many older men who do NOT need to breed, as well as young women! These topics are not really Stoic-related, but sexist rubbish.
As pertaining to stereotypical sexism, Stoicism is the PERFECT spiritual path for men and women to learn how to control their hormone-driven urges, but the teachings need not be based in sexist talk.
I truly appreciate all that you do. Thank you. 💐 🌹 As for any suggestion that I might have..... just staying true to the core of Stoicism, in my opinion, is the right way, and that is exactly what you have stated as your intention. Thank you so much.

How about a list for women, to warn them about men. Also, why is there always a MALE voice?

This a test for stoic females and they seem to be failing, any slight criticism and the comments section loses it. It is interesting to witness how their egos take it so personally.

@Bhodisatvas, your observation brings an interesting Stoic perspective to the discussion. Stoicism teaches us about the importance of equanimity in the face of criticism or praise and the value of controlling our reactions. The idea that criticism can be a test of one's Stoic virtues, like temperance and resilience, is thought-provoking.
It's also a reminder that Stoicism values the development of a strong, yet humble ego-one that is capable of receiving feedback without losing its balance. In your view, how can we all, regardless of gender, use Stoic principles to better process and learn from criticism without taking it personally? Your insights could help further a constructive dialogue on personal growth and emotional intelligence. 🌟📚

@@stoicbond I think a first good step would be for people to detach themselves from group identities and labels. Gender is just one of a myriad of traits that make up the human experience and the mind yet these days humans will adhere to the ideology of the group rather than investigate deeper to discover meanings that may actually help them in the long run.
Maybe it is a sociological thing where females must seem to appear more 'virtuous' than males and therefore feel the need to signal their offence to non virtuous behavior more strongly. Maybe females have a higher ego threshold because they are pandered to on social media more than males and therefore feel perceived attacks more strongly?
I do find it very interesting that just this one video on your channel has made you be compared to Andrew Tate and your male viewers being called 'incels', it really does show the group think that is prevalent in western society today.
