I’ve driven Acura MDX for the last 5 models and have never had any problems and have had nothing but satisfaction from my dealer. The 2022 revision was a great step up with increased features.
Regarding the Honda/ Rav4 comparison, this is ICE engine comparison. The hybrid comparison would put the Rav4 in the lead in my opinion. The hybrid design of the Toyota is better, both hybrid and PHEV, Toyota's Prius has over 20 yrs of proven reliability. The Prius design has been adapted to the RAV4 and other models.
I looked at all the mid-size luxury SUVs and decided on a 2024 Acura MDX Type S. It absolutely checked every box and has more technology than its competitors.
I know that you give some caveats, but it's confusing that the Nissan Pathfinder is listed both here and in your video "Least Reliable SUVs That Won't Even Last 50,000 Miles || Avoid Buying!" released just two weeks ago.
I'm really surprised the Highlander and even the Grand Highlander didn't make it hear. Comsumer reports has the Highlander as one the best that I do recall.
I've owned several Toyotas over the years; Worst were a Landcruiser and TWO Hilanders. I no longer purchase Toyotas. Currently my wife drives a Pilot, I drive a Ridgeline, happier than a meadow lark in spring.
Pathfinder reliable 3.5 liter V6 Honda reliable 3.5 liter V6 both naturally aspirated engines the owner operator can basically do your own maintenance on the Toyota 4.0 liter V6 rav4 has gone over the sides off elevated highways landed on all 4 tires passengers survived
2019 Subaru Forester Sport bought brand new and before 23 k miles had left me stranded in the middle of the road. Back to the dealer they replaced the battery under warranty, and found “ excessive carbon buildup on several components “. My worse car ever. Afraid to drive it.
Both Toyota & Honda are a lot less well-built & reliable than they were 20 years ago, but their outdated reputation persists. My new, Japan-built 2020 Toyota was a disaster of problems.
>>> I had a Yaris hybrid - left it unused for 2 weeks and it wouldn’t start as the 12V battery was flat; happened again and then found out this is a known problem.
@@mindfullymellow2323 It was a new 2020 TNGA Corolla SE Sedan 6-MT, built in Japan (J-VIN) in late 2019 pre-pandemic. Most problematic vehicle I have owned in 40 years of buying new cars (10 total).
@@dystopia-usa - how unfortunate. I had a 2009 Corolla I bought for my son in 2016 that turned into a money pit. Cut my losses and bought a Yaris iA, which was problem free.
@@mindfullymellow2323 The Yaris iA is a rebadged Mazda2 with a few cosmetic changes & Mazda seems to build better vehicles than either Toyota or Honda these days, unlike the old days when Ford had their claws in Mazda (until around 2009). @@trentrizza4572 Even the Toyota Rav 4 are using the CVT gearbox. Ok they have a software that makes a delay so it sounds like their CVT has 8 gears. But I agree about the CVT! They have a shorter life then a usual oil pressur gearbox like the Aisin gearboxes. Fun fact is that Toyota owns Aisin but anyway uses CVT in allmost all their cars..
If I was buy I by a Mazda if I was buying a Japanese car then perhaps a Lexus. I had infinity and really really like them, but I’m not a fan of anything that has a CVT
The pathfinder over the 4Runner. No way!
Anything with the Nissan label is a Nyet.
Nissan has no business here. The CX-5, on the other hand, most certainly does.

What’s Nissan doing here?😂
Which hobda crv Gas or Hybrid ? The gas model is only 1.5 litre engine I wonder if it's reliable

Subaru Forrester and Mitsubishi ASX or Outlander deserve to be on the list(Top 10 most reliable)
You completely ignored the Subaru Forester which is the most reliable of any SUV.
I know that you give some caveats, but it's confusing that the Nissan Pathfinder is listed both here and in your video "Least Reliable SUVs That Won't Even Last 50,000 Miles || Avoid Buying!" released just two weeks ago.
What of Mitsubishi outlander ranking?
I've seen a lot of bad customer reviews.
The cx9 is no longer for sale. Cx90 replaced it. Puts whole video in question

I take the Mazda -- Zoom Zoom, pal! 😎
Let’s replace the Pathfinder with the great Pilot 😊

The 4 runner is the most reliable car in the world I hope you guys realize that
Go for the Mazda CX5
Lexus GX
Toyota 4Runner
Nissan Pathfinder
Acura MDX
Toyota RAV4
Honda CR-V

Where are the follwing :
Mazda CX-5 ?
Toyota Sequoia ?

My uncle gets a new Forester every 3 years and has never had a problem. Some of his friends have the Forrester too with no issues.
No Nissan should be on this list. Some poor sucker might buy the Nissan model you recommended.
A honda 2024 crv is number 1 ok what about 1.6 turbo engine losing oil 2milion already in recal because of engine and cvt transmission problems???
1.5 Turbo. I never liked that either, and am far more inclined to get a CX-5. I’d rather pay for the gas than major unwarranted work after 3 years.

And where is Mitsubishi?
Made in Thailand now but still a Japan!😮
I own 4 Subarus much better than the Rav 4.
If you own them beyond 15 years you'll find the Rav4 out lasts any Subaru
What models did you buy? The Forestor and Ascent look nice
The honda CRV with its problematic cvt transmission over the toyota highlander that is not even mentioned is a fraud and a joke.😅
The crv is just the best you can't question that
If Honda got rid of the CVT it would be hard not buy it. I've had two CVT's and they don't ride well and makle a lot of noise.

Mitsubishi.
Nissan destroyed its quality when Nissan started to use drive train from the European Alliance automotive group (Renault engiens and gearboxes)
All left hand drive American models.
Honda is more comfortable also
Honda build better and durable engine than Toyota
Not the 1.5 turbo Honda that had oil dilution issues
Toyota transmission is much much better than Honda.
Nissan and Honda are just crappy cars! They used to have a great reputation years ago but now they are the bottom of the rung!
