This is a bit of a companion piece to one of sam's early songs "dead boys" drawing on his personal loss of friends to suicide before he had the good fortune to break through into a successful career.
Great reaction - thank you. Sam Fender is a fantastic talent with a strong message in most of his songs. Please try "17 going under" next if you can - another wonderfully sad, but simultaneously uplifting track.
Sam Fender is phenomenal I hail from his part of the world. We're not raised we're dragged up. We're raised by the streets. You have to have those street smarts. It makes me laugh when I hear the young ones today on how tough it is. It's a walk in the park compared to what we had to do to survive. Gen X with horse power is what I am. Sam is a gifted very gifted song writer, Every year 9 people with in 100 thousand died last year in the UK by suicide. Those numbers should not be happening. Those numbers are actual human beings and what's more shocking is their age group. 30 and under. This Generation is the most isolated and lonely generation ever. In the advancement of mankind with people been replaced by robots and machines. Actual physical contact is getting less and less. For all the changes is been digital truly the answer to all. It is not it's become the noose around the younger generations necks. What you said there are people out there the problem is they don't know how to even strike up a conversation.
I saw him live at sold out St James Park last year and as a grown 30 year old man I bawled my eyes out when he played this
For all the ones who didn't make the night - God bless you, Samuel
The best lyricist, vocalist and instrumentalist of his generation. He and his band are equally good or even better live. 👍
Think they're better live hypersonic missiles gave me goosebumps from home
