The closer you get to technical, IN MOST CASES, the further you get from a musical feel. Theres a lot of drummers who blend both beautifully. In langs case he was always one of the front runners of technical drumming. Its nice to see him show that he can blend both with the best of them. Theres no denying his super human technique shines through.

These have to be the most amazing drum feet in the universe! There are those who can play blast beats and hold their own, but Thomas then buries all of them when you factor in the power, dexterity, independence, speed, musicality, etc. AMAZING!!!!!!! Love it..........

He was critiziced for being technical for the sake of technicality and playing very roboticaly. Like I said, I might remember it wrong, but this was the consence that I noticed in some places..... Now he is doing stuff like this and those criticisms feel centuries old. This is truly fantastic!

His methods,, and teachings as well as his playing are second to none. I went from Mike portnoy to Thomas way back as an inspiration. It's been a long ride, but Thomas is the one who has been putting in the work. If there were a famous drummer to change playing for all time it would be him. Glad i got to witness it.

I like this new fresh Thomas Lang with a new more groove oriented approach. He played some mind blowing tasty grooves here! especially the one with the cowbell but I just wish he repeated them a lil bit longer before jumping to something else . Anyway Thomas is a beast his technique and independence is from a different planet!
The first time I saw him play. He was doing a product demonstration for sonar kick pedals. I watched it and thought holy crap he is freaking good. I now realize 18 years later that I don’t know how to play drums. I just know how to hit things in a rhythmic pattern. Thomas Lang can play drums.

The masters always gets criticised just because they are the best. Some people feel intimidated by perfection so they criticise on default, it's too much for them to comprehend (it's alien to them).

Thomas Lang was the first drummer I saw on UA-cam one day before my first drum class (2006), since there, I never saw a better drummer than him.
