  • A chit chatty rambly video talking about my struggles growing out my white hair and making perfume memories on purpose with a super quirky boozy gourmand scent. I also gush about one of my favourite bands from my hometown Winnipeg, Canada (Crash Test Dummies), concerts, and fond memories that music (and scents) can evoke.

White hair is beautiful. I do often color my hair but have gotten more comfortable with my grays. First gray arrived on my 30th birthday.❤

Hi Arlene, what about going to salon for a decapage? They can bring back your natural hair and if you like it you keep it or get a new dye. It works also on permanent dyes. I am not 100% sure you can get the white from the decapage in only one session. asking the salon is the way to go for a possibly immediate result 😊

Yes...I think I'll visit a salon and ask what my options are and what they can do. Fingers crossed :)

I loved listening to your ‘rambly chat! - having you share how you picked your fragrance, something so specific & unique (a hidden gem) from your collection for the concert to create a special memory with was just really fun to hear about, as well as thought provoking & will definitely inspire me to do the same in the future. It was as if you were sharing a new perfume as well ❤

Color Wow powder root cover works amazingly well and feels natural in your hair and stays until washed out.

    Hi Arlene 😄
This video was so interesting! I felt like you were sitting across the table from me chatting. 😀
I remember those mint strip things. Now that I think about it, I don’t think I’ve seen them in some years. My hubs used to smoke as well!
My SOTD is A La Rose by Maison Francis Kurkdjian . Such an incredible rose fragrance.
That fragrance you wore to the CTD concert sounds amazing.
Glad you had such an amazing time at the concert and you wore that particular scent!

    Hi Arlene.
    SOTD: Lalique le parfum.
I had grey hair as a kid, too. In my case, it was caused by combined hipovitaminoses. I got vitamin shots, and it went away. Now, in my early thirties, I have a few grey hairs, but it doesn't bother me.
My nostalgic band is Nirvana. We had a tape with their unplugged concert, and I was listening to it with my brothers until it worn out :-)
I din't know about Crashtest dummies. I'll check them out.

Ohh, I don't think I've heard of that condition. I just assumed mine was from genetics. Nirvana...love them! The first CD I've ever bought for myself with my own money from my first job was...Nirvana Unplugged in NY. Obsessed, even til now :D

Growing it out… hats helped me, braiding & putting it up helped, too - once it got past a certain stage, the grow out ‘line’ wasn’t as bothersome to me. What was surprisingly fun, was the discovery that my whites mostly frame my face - the hair toward the back & at the back of my head are still brunette!

I'm 43 and I have been getting my silver strands since I was 19. I stopped dyeing it 6 years ago because my hair grows fast and I was done with doing my roots every 3 weeks. Never looked back. You could have a salon blend some colour in to make the harsh line softer

I’ve grown out processed straightened hair years ago in favor of natural curly hair. I was so impatient that I ended up just cutting off the processed hair early in the process and rocked very short hair. 😂 I know you’ll look and feel great.

    Ooh a chat!
The topic of hair color is more complex than it might seem on the surface to some people. On the one end, it’s superficial - what impact does it truly have on your ability to live a good life? On the other end, it’s so interwoven with our identities that it’s a big deal in daily life. I hope you feel supported to choose *your* own path in your decision to color or not, that’s my “tip” haha :)
CTD - wow I haven’t thought about them in years! 🤯 That CD was in rotation and I vividly remember singing the songs in the car. What fun to revisit those memories and be awash in nostalgia.
Those breath freshener strips had their viral moment, ha! Lots of good throw backs in this video. Wish I had time for all the comments on everything. 🤓

There is another type of product which has sponge on top and black powder comes out from it. I don't have one so I don't know if it's good or not though.
I've started having natural gray hair since 10 years ago. I wish I could have total white but it is not so beautiful so I keep my hair short length.
It might sound weird to some people, but my husband used to love my long black hair, so I feel a little guilty about having gray short hair in many years.
If I remember right, your husband has light color of hair so I imagine he adores you just the way you are now. Having said that we can do anything we want. Anyway you want, I support you

Lol I asked hubby for brutally honest opinion on this...he said both black and grown-out white would look nice, but if he was forced to pick one, he chose black. Then repeated that grown-out white is nice too. :D

    I'm 45 and I have a lot of grey 🩶 hair
I grow up seeing my mom coloring her hair all the time, is so boring spend time with another beauty routine, man just not doing this, why we have to?
I prefer just let grow, other way I will be slave of salons and this rituals.
I understand however people that can't appreciate the grey.

I wish I had as much hair as you. I’m 49 and in perimenopause so my hair is thinning. 😢You can go to a salon and when your growing your hair out they can lighten your old growth hair so that it with blends better with you new growth but you need to grow out your roots enough for the stylist to have an idea of what color to blend with. I’m just letting my hair grow white. I could care less, but I also wear my hair up all the time. Look up Guy Tang. He’s a colorist in LA California and he did a video on going grey to silver. I think you would look really good in Platinum silver look.
