    Hi Marksman, I love this video. I got the same equipment , the only thing is my sony is the RX100VA. Could you give me some advises in how to record and play in slow motion, edition and stuff? I have had it for more than a year and ended up buying the eagle vision phone holder LOL

      @@GeKo1966 the 1000fps is in camera and the 120fps is edited on the computer. Just remember with this set up its biased to high quality footage, its not waterproof, shockproof, and it doesn't really stay on the gun well if you move around alot. if you are planning on filming hunts or using it on heavier calibre guns the go pro style is a better option because its lighter and more solid

    It'll be interesting to see how noticeable the (higher quality) glass is on the schmidt&bender through the new camera. I forked out for a swarovski spotting scope a while back - bloody pricey, but I have never looked back. Unlike the more transient firearms, it's the one thing you ALWAYS have with you. Provided the mirage isn't too boiling, I can spot paper holes on black at 300m with it, even further on purely white paper! Be warned, once you go good glass you won't be able to go back to the cheap stuff though! ;)

      I'm a bit of an optics snob already tbh... my eyes are happy around the $1500 Mark on Burris bushnell and vortex but the s&b is 10x the scope they are. Its amazing, and with a scope like that you can use it on all your guns and always have the best glass so that my plan haha

      @@meatheadmarksman2013 high end glass is next level isn't it :O I find I just leave my scopes on my guns these days (and then buy new!). Too much of a screw around losing your zero all the time. Although I do have a little 1.5-4x leuie that is a bit of a whore, which I transplant for load development...

    After watching your vid, I purchased an Eagle Vision camera mount system. Mine did not come in the nice case and the pieces came in individual small boxes.
    I got the inline version rather than the mirrored version, either way, I would have run into this problem - the camera ring will not fit an RX100 V, VI, or VII models :(
    I emailed EV and they confirmed, and they do not have a camera ring for the RX100 V, VI, or VII - a good thing to know if you ever think of upgrading from a RX100 IV.
    We determined that the SCR100 camera ring could be trimmed out enough to fit the slightly larger V, VI, and VII cameras. I have a metal lathe and will do that. In fact, I would have already done it but my mag base broke and I had to order another :(.
    Many thanks for all the great videos!!!

    • @meatheadmarksman2013

      Mine is an rx100 v... I suppose if your doin inline rather then side mount it's probably different. I'm actually thinking about selling mine cos I rarely use it

    • @Tanglerwr
      @Tanglerwr 4 роки тому

      @@meatheadmarksman2013 Hmmm, that is interesting and a bit puzzling that the side mount would work with the V and the inline won't. I know Sony made a lens change when they went to the VI and V7. I suspect part of that change was a slightly larger (0.035 inches) lens housing. So it may very well be that the V would work with the inline too.
      I completely relate to not using it much. You almost have to have a specific purpose for going to the trouble and expense. I would not be surprised to find I come to that same point.

    • @Tanglerwr
      @Tanglerwr 4 роки тому +2

      @@meatheadmarksman2013 That might help, but it still looks "sticky-outy" to me with the mirror version. And don't you have to have a special lens for the Hero for it to work correctly with a scope adaptor?
      I do like the mirror concept though, at least you are truly looking at your scope reticle. With the inline, you are looking at the reticle via the camera display and bright sun wash out comes to mind, and for me, I don't have as good close up vision as I used to and it will be interesting to see how the camera view works for me.
      What about a Side-Shot with a smart phone, have you tried that? It's not perfect either, but it looks like it would be more compact than a Hero mirror mount.
      BTW, if you ever doing a walk about and find yourself in Tennessee, it would be an honor to meet you.

      It depends on what you wanna use it for, if you are gunna be rough with it, hunting, hiking, wet weather, harsh conditions I'd go with a go pro instead. But if your in more controlled circumstances the set up I have can be used to get better quality video and the camera can be used for different stuff too. Both setups are pretty pricy either way so I think it just comes down to what you wanna do with it

    If you turn off "anti shake" on the camera your reticle won't float around also if you can get the camera in to manual focus you and get your crosshairs in sharp focus instead of relying on the camera to try to get them in focus...
