    Now this is a realistic and viable alternative. Daytona is too awkward, Gainesville burns too many bridges to other universities and staying in Jacksonville will put folks at risk of injury or worse. Just move to Orlando for a couple years, sow the seeds for maybe an NFL expansion team, bite the bullet and come back to something glorious in Jacksonville in 2027.

      there will never be an expansion team in orlando, the market for orlando isnt independent like many think, its a tampa-orlando market, wherever there isnt a tampa team there is and orlando team.

      Tell it to the Bucs. The location of a new franchise needs to be voted in by all NFL owners. Do you really think the Bucs are going to allow Orlando to take away their fan base? Never going to happen. Never!

    *They’ve already collected taxes from the Orange County (FL) Tourist Destination Tax that has that money they’re sitting on, which is being debated on how it’s gonna be spent (Orlando Dreamers are another group)
    * Daytona is night and day of a drive from jax, just straight down I-95 much better and goes fast while other options are awful drives
    *In those TDT task force meetings Florida Citrus Sports (Camping World Stadium) showed those renders to redo the upper deck and add a roof and continue the renovation
    * Hard Rock Rennovation was 3 years with the dolphins, Orlando has no tenets so it should be much faster
    *Jacksonville offered 2 year vs 4 year plan at the start

    Orlando has billions of Tourists Tax dollars to spend on stadiums. It’s basically Vegas for kids and families.

    There is ZERO chance the Orange County Commissioners grant Florida Citrus Sports another $800 million to add a roof to the Citrus Bowl. They would all be voted out in an instant, the stadium has no tenant and its not worth $800 million to have 12 games that span over two years (assuming they still play two each year in London).
    I do think its likely that the Jags make the CItrus Bowl home for two years, but it doesn't need to spend $800 million adding a roof to make it happen like the clickbait title of this video implies.

      Good thing the TDT controls the money to be spent. It's the TDT, which is sitting on $3.65 billion in money, that can only be spent on projects that improve tourism. None of the money can be spent for civil projects. It's not central Florida taxpayer money. It's the 6% you pay when you rent a car, stay in a hotel. Tourists are paying this $$.

      I would much rather spend money on Camping World than another uneeded expansion of the convention center or worse tax money going to slime like the DeVos family for a renovation on a building that isn't even 15 years old like the Amway Center.

    I live in Orlando and I hope this doesn't happen. The city spent millions to renovate the stadium in time for Orlando City to join MLS and then built a smaller soccer-specific out of Aluminum. Now they want to spend enough to build a whole new stadium to renovate to host an NFL team for a few years? And they want taxes to pay for it? Hell no!!

      I would be for spending 800 million on a baseball stadium if the Rays move to Orlando from St. Pete. I always wondered why they did not update the upper deck when they did the original renovations to CWS.

    Yeah I don’t wanna move at all as a big jags fan i will rather play in Jacksonville and take longer and cost more because it will be cool the fans will be able to see the progress of the stadium stay in JACKSONVILLE PLEASE

  • @user-qo4cc4zx2t
    @user-qo4cc4zx2t Рік тому +3

    most likely scenario in my opinion is that CWS gets suite/concession/comfort enhancements and gets fixed seating in the upper deck. capacity remains at 61k, and Reno cost, I think, will remain under 150m. truth is, Benn hill griffin and doak Campbell are nowhere near nfl standards considering they're completely bleacher seat stadiums, outside of club areas. sure, cws isn't up to nfl standards, but does it really matter? I don't think so. CWS is the best option they have. I can't see the 800m renovation happening until the jags go back to Jax.

    I don't think they need the expensive pricetag for the renovations at all just to play 2 seasons there as that is just a waste of money for a team that won't be there long. The stadium is fine the way it is as they're only playing there for 2 years. Somebody mentioned London and that would've been interesting to test that market for 2 seasons especially if it's the league's ultimate goal to get an expansion team out there in the 2030s.

    If they're going to temporarily move out anyways, i dont see why they would renovate rather than build a new stadium entirely. TIAA bank is not historical, and is pretty sucky. Is it really that cost effective to reuse most of it?

    Idk why Camping World needs such a massive renovation without a permanent tenant. What a huge waste of taxpayer funds. All they really need to get Jacksonville for 2 years would be a smaller (maybe closer to 200 mil?) renovation to the upper deck seating, jumbotrons, and MAYBE updated concorse offerings?

    You may want to get you a local source. Camping World would be the last resort; Orlando is not far (2.5 hr drive), but it is the farthest and the traffic in Orlando is not favorable. UF Stadium would be ideal, but getting to Gainesville is a that exciting either. Daytona is three counties down and 1 hour away from Jacksonville straight down I-95.

    • @C1K450
      @C1K450 5 місяців тому

      The Buccaneers is what’s stopping the Jags from moving to Orlando. It just doesn’t make sense to have 2 NFL teams in central Florida. The Dolphins represents South Florida and the Jaguars represents North Florida/The Panhandle. What makes sense for Orlando is bidding for that MLB team and either renovate CWS or build a new baseball park for the Rays.

    The NFL will never allow a team in Orlando while the Bucks are in Tampa Bay it's too close. Owners won't do that to each other.

  • @breezecardenas3941
    @breezecardenas3941 Рік тому

    Miami played in Hard Rock stadium when they were renovating the stadium for 2 years, I don't see why Jacksonville can't do the same? I understand the stadium is more elaborate than Hard Rock is, but, why go to a different stadium which is also looking to be renovated, at the same time. I think it's a ploy, to get either a new stadium which will be paid for by taxpayers, or they are looking to relocate to a new city. If that's the case, why don't they move to London full time? They play there every year, what's a few more games? It sucks for the fans in Jacksonville, but, at the end of the day, money talks and owners will go wherever money can be made. This is probably Khan's way of being able to circumvent the rules of relocating his team.

    The idea of a city spending $800 million of PUBLIC money to host the Jags for 12-16 games is insanity. Single-sport stadiums are pretty unanimously a waste of taxpayer dollars. Camping World and The Swamp are totally fine for temporary homes as is. We need to be content with the stadiums we already have instead of encouraging this madness. Besides, the move will be a good opportunity for Jacksonville to earn fans in North and Central Florida.
