Thank you so much for sharing! As sad as it is to see, it is nice to have closure by seeing what's left of our cabin on Village Loop. RIP Cedar Chest. Extending my prayers to all affected by this tragedy.
Deeply sorry for your losses, thanks for sharing, my heart is so saddened on this fire. I visited Gatlinburg 2 yrs ago and as a teen. May your rebuild go swiftly!
Thank you Melissa. It actually gave me nightmares that entire week, thinking about "what if". Nothing scares you as a parent more than knowing you may not be able to protect your family. I feel for everyone who was affected by this. 😔
Cary Chaney I know I have 2 year old twins & it has haunted me to think of the what if's & all the people trying to get their kids to safety & the ones who didn't make it out with their kids. I wasn't there & I feel traumatized by it so I can't imagine being so close to the reality! So happy you guys got out of there early!
my heart breaks watching this video. I believe my aunt used to own the house that you stopped at 928, my boys called it The Woods house, we made a ton of memories in that house, lots of love was in that house.
I'm so sorry for you and your parents. :( I agree, it's absolutely heartbreaking. I've been a frequent visitor for 43 years and just can't absorb the enormity of the devastation.
Kathy Van Ryn Iam sorry for your loss. We lived on cliff branch road. Our house is gone but everyone got out. I can still recognize some of the cabins.
I'm sorry for your loss Sh Prof. It's difficult to be away and not able to handle things on the ground. I have many friends in your position. My prayers are with you.
Thank you for your prayers. So many of our friends in the Gatlinburg area lost their homes and businesses. They are hurting. Their strong faith in God and determination will give them the strength to press on. We owned our cabin for 22 years. I grew up in TN and watched my kids and grandkids make precious memories on the grounds of our beloved Cedar Chest in the Smokies.
I am sorry for your loss. I lived in chalet village as well and was there when the fire swept across the mountain. I am glad yall are okay. There were so many things that were wrong that night.
it's so strange seeing this, we visited over the summer for a family reunion and stayed at 720 Pinecrest, was a HUGE place! it's so weird seeing the glimpse of it burned...the pool survived though. thank you for sharing
Thank you for showing this. It is so hard to comprehend even when you are looking at it! I feel so sick about this I just can't believe it!! Im so heartbroken! Did anyone see the video of the guys trying to get off the mountain (I'm pretty sure it was Chalet Village) through the inferno & know if they made it out ok? Lots of people reposting the video but don't know where the original post came from. I assume since the video was posted they made it out but I want to know for sure because that video still haunts me. So sorry & sad for everyone's loss! It is a loss for everyone who loves & has memories of Gatlinburg too.
Melissa, Michael Luciano posted the video, Anthony Fulton was the driver. Their video was incredible! They made it off the mountain safely, as did the people they passed on the way down. You can find it by searching on Luciano Gatlinburg.
BeveKay thank you so much for replying & the info. I did find him on FB but I was wondering about the people he passed on the way down & was afraid to ask. Thank you for letting me know they made it out as well! It's just a miracle but I know these people are traumatized. Thanks again!
This makes me so sad my husband and l were married there stayed high in the mountains in a chalet in fact 2 but the first one was adorable and so high up l remember standing on the back porch looking at the beautiful scenery being up so high made it more beautiful.I am so sorry for the ones who lost so much especily their lives. g
We just visited the baskin creek area and stayed in a cabin. All the structures in at least a block or two are leveled but somehow the cabin we stayed in survived and one house down the hill survived . So crazy how it can destroy everything but then not touch another.
I followed along with your video on Google Earth street view so I got to see what most of these properties looked like before they were destroyed. So sorry for your losses.
Did you happen reach 758 Chestnut Drive ? Thanks so much for this video but I can't stop the tears as I view my neighbors homes. Absolutely in shock right now!!!
I'm so sorry Lisa, 758 Chestnut Drive has been confirmed destroyed by the arcgis for Sevier County. I haven't seen any video of the area, if I do I'll post it here. Prayers are with you and all those affected. :(
Jason Gallagher thanks but I've already looked at this website quite a few times. They do not have a "destroyed" marker over this particular cabin along with some others around it.
I wish I knew the address of "Million Dollar View" managed by Eden Crest. We have it reserved for Dec 28th. They are telling me it's fine but I bet it's not.... On Ober Mtn.
BeveKay thank you for that info. Youre the only one that has given me any info. dobyou think there would be smoke damage or smell in the unit at this address? does the surrounding area look burnt there? the view? is it shown on your video by chance??

I'm so sorry Jenny.

My wife, myself and our 6 children checked out of 533 Wiley Oakley road (3:35)at 11am on that Monday morning. I'm grateful and sad at the same time. 😔

I would love to see Chalet Village BLVD. Smokies Paradise, Angel haven. Great video Thanks.
They aren't allowing anyone in there now, recovering remains, fixing utilities.
I don't think our hearts will ever heal.
Terrible tragedy and loss of life.
Excuse my ignorance but why do people not have some sort of underground shelter to escape the flames?
Boat Man Hasn’t been a big fire here since 1934, it was unexpected

looking for info on Precious Memories cabin!!
what about mansion in the skyy did it survive?
in portugal,the same problem.
thanks.
Does anyone know if S. Baden Drive got any damage?
Google street view should be doing this.
Did 844 Crooked Ridge survive?
I'm sorry, I don't have any information on that.
BeveKay thanks so much
Based on the data on this website: www.arcgis.com/apps/PublicInformation/index.html?appid=8c18c70f55ac4f81b683454fc7573d76
it doesn't look good.

It's been updated now, 844 Crooked Ridge is confirmed destroyed.
