    Mr Gene I don't know if you will see this I lost my dad a couple of years ago. he loved watching your videos and it inspired him to keep fishing even when he felt bad from cancer treatments.
    Thank you for your positivity, it made my dad's last days a little easier to bear. In his coffin at his funeral he had on your hat that said " Go fishing when you can, cause it's good fer ya ! "
    Thank you and God bless from his grateful son

    Richard Gene, in this day and age, you are a bright light shining on my life! I use so many of your technique and tackle suggestions that people wonder how I can sit right next to them and catch fish, while they're not even getting bites. Thank you for helping me enjoy my retirement at least 5 times more than I would have on my own!

    Richard your channel is so refreshing to watch your techniques and simplicity. I am getting more and more into panfishing by watching how you simplify how much fun our sport can be. Bass fishing and most of the channels I use to watch is so driven by electronics they have destroyed in my opinion tournament fishing. Thank you for staying true to how you built your channel. God Bless you and Mama Sue.

    Palomar knot has done you right. No need to change. I am using the Fish-N-Fool knot, also called the improved Uniknot. Latest test I have watched demonstrates the Fish-N-Fool knot is the strongest knot to tie, stronger than a Palomar. However, clearly the Palomar Knot works great.

    • @richardkoch8752
      @richardkoch8752 4 місяці тому +2

      I use the Palomar knot as it's so simple for these 68 year old fingers to tie. The eyes and fingers don't work well so the Palomar is my go-to.

      I use a modified uni knot I saw how to tie this on Tyler Bergers channel. He showed and tested each knot. He used braid, you can tie this knot onto monofilament line. The braid was 50 lbs the knot held up to over 50lb. This is how affective the modified uni knot is.

    You brought alot of light into my life with your videos i wanted to let you know got my family to learn alot through fishing it has taught us enless amounts of lessons but the one that it keeps teaching us is patience and love for the outdoors something we were missing for over 5 or so years just being boring and stressed now we try to catch small bass to decent size bluegills at our local river . I heard these guys at my pond catching crappie and they said "i told you i would catch one right there !!! I learn that from richardthefishing i was so surpised how much views your videos get they even reach my mexican friends such as my self thanks richard for being such a kind hearted youtuber and teaching us how to have fun with what we got. no need for special or elite gear to do so your awesome and wish you the best with youre youtube career man. ❤

    I was expecting you to be catching bluegill and red breast and here you were catching the best eating fish swimming in water instead.
    Thanks once again, Richard. You know I jump in the boat any time you ask.
    Some bluegill trivia: something few people know and assume wrong. A bluegill gets its name not from the "ear flap" but from the blue coloration all along the bottom of their gill flaps.

    I was pan fishing the other day and didn't have a small split shot sinker, but did have a small swivel with a little weight to it. I just cut a little bit of line to make a leader and tied it on. It worked great and don't know why I never thought of it before. Polymer knot on both sides of swivel and on hook. Give her a try Mr. Gene

Then I read my wife your Scriptures for the day, and we both laughed at Isaiah 43:2. 😂
