Tarte is a great brand and so cheap!!! I still don’t know how they do it. Every time I go to their website I want to purchase everything. That powder for sure will be good for this terribly hot weather. Your skin look flawless
What a gorgeous compact - so chick; reasonably priced too. I carry the Lancome stick foundation for on the go - you know the twist up stick and has a dense tapered brush on the other end of it... it's like a cream-to-powder consistency. I find that works pretty well for around the same price point. Interesting review 👍 How many more foundations to arrive in 2022 Rebecca? 🙄 Shall we run a sweepstake! 😂

Agreed, Savanah! Usually powder settles in or sits on top of the face. I’m not finding that this is doing anything like that. It’s really quite a refreshing take on powder foundation and the packaging is gorgeous, which, I agree, doesn’t hurt.

I have never worn a powder foundation. I stay away from powders 100%. Even when I was obsessed with bare Minerals, I did not wear their foundation (they always said it was not a powder foundation-just minerals-but, to me, it looked like a powder and therefore was a powder.) Anywhooooo, I honestly love the way this foundation evened out your complexion!!! I don’t feel particularly ready to try a powder just yet, but I am impressed. 🎉🎉🎉💖
I am SO glad you took some much needed relaxation time!!! We could all use that. I totally understand how you feel about powder foundations and there's no need to change that. This almost might even disappoint powder lovers who kind of WANT or are used to the way they perform and this one is not like that. It's like powder for non powder foundation lovers.

Oh I forgot about that loose powder foundation. I just thought it was odd to have a loose powder foundation. I love their Amazonian clay liquid foundation, one of my favorite products and I’ve used it for many years. I know folks didn’t appreciate the added fragrance, which doesn’t bother me but I was so happy they removed the spf. Wow, that foundation really gives you a refined look but it doesn’t leave a powdery look, very nice!!! The packaging is beautiful too! Now so you use a setting spray to finish the look? I’m definitely getting this. I think I have a Laura Gellar powder foundation which I loved because it could be used wet or dry and it really stood up to the awful humidity in VA, but I hated the clunky yet delicate packaging. It reminded me of the PML under eye setting powder where it is shaped like a dome, so very unstable and not purse friendly. I’m going to give this a try too!!!
A setting spray would be PERFECT over this, Tracie! I am still so curious about this. It just...isn't a powder foundation type product. I don't even know how to explain it. It's like....high heels. You KNOW they are uncomfortable so you put up with them. Women have even declared uncomfortable high heels to be "comfortable" when they are simply not AS uncomfortable as most heels. It's ACCEPTED. So....with this....I was prepared to accept typical powder foundation foibles but...nope. None there. I am so impressed. Coming back to edit. Was commenting back to Veronica and she helped me realize what it is....this is like a LIGHT coverage foundation but in powder form. So it won't be as high coverage as your liquid version but would also set that one perfectly.
Oh my goodness, you KNOW I was thinking the same thing!!!! I was like, "Should I or are we on to cream bronzers too much now???" There was MUCH DEBATE between me and my editing team...so basically just me.
Love your review. I share, pretty much, the same thoughts on this foundation as you. In addition, it actually reminds me of a mineral foundation in that the more you buff it into your skin, the creamier and non-powdery it gets.
Now I guess I will have to try this one. I know I can always trust your reviews. We are skin twins (other than the fact I am much older). I can usually go with your shade match. I got the BareMinerals BarePro powder foundation after your review on that one.. I really like the BM but this one sounds very good. I will have to try it, for science you know, lol. I love a good powder foundation because I use several serums in the morning then topped off with sunscreen and don't really like adding another liquid. Plus, I live in a very humid climate so powders just work better for me.
Hello Emily. Or, I should say, hello skin twin! I loved the BM. It was my favorite. And then this one came along. Now this is very light to light medium coverage. But, the powder is delightful and soft and light and doesn’t cake. I cannot recommend it highly enough. I think you will be very pleased as it’s even better than the bareMinerals.

I was about to buy the Fenty one in a darker colour for summer but I think I will get this one instead now. Only thing is I need to wait for Sephora Canada to get it - it’s not even showing as coming soon yet. Hope it’s not too long of a wait! Looks fabulous on you and I loved the Fenty one upon your recommendation so I’m sure this will be a winner too.
Hello Michelle! I love the Fenty product and I like this one even more but it is slightly lighter coverage. It is coming to the Tarte website soon and I think we will see it everywhere after that. I will keep my ear to the ground.

Hello Camille! I really like the One Size but can never find the right shade and have to mix two, which is a pain so I don't really use it. This one has more natural shade choices, in my opinion, and is lighter coverage. Powder foundations can be so pancake, on purpose. This one is really breathable and light. I think you'd really like it.
I've had this in my Wish List on QVC the day they first showed it. I was waiting for some reviews. I find it very hard to color match with a powder foundation. In Laura Geller I'm a medium, but in most shades I'm a light-medium. The first review that came in was 5 stars. Now there are 7 reviews and they're mixed. I'm sure I'll end up getting it Lol! Hello Judi!!! I LOVE Long Island. My father is a New Yorker. I think typical powder lovers might actually not like this as they kind of have come to expect powder foundations to perform differently, if that makes sense. This is light to light med coverage and undetectable.
Thanks for the review, Rebecca! I’ve never used a powder foundation, so forgive my ignorance: how does one best apply concealer with this type of product? Does it cake up if you put it on top of the powder? Or could I apply and set concealer before applying the foundation on top?? Help!! 😅
Hello Liz! This could also actually set the concealer since it's a powder. So you COULD skip your powder step. OR...if you get an oily t zone and really rely on setting under eye concealer, etc., you can absolutely set that with translucent powder AND then apply this over the top. But...the preferred order that I would go in is this: powder foundation, followed by a concealer of your choice, followed by your fave translucent powder just where you feel you need it to set the concealer. So basically, it's just the same part of your routine that any normal liquid foundation would be.

My HG for nearly 2 decades has been the Jane Iredale PurePressed Base Mineral Foundation. Other than EltaMD tinted mineral SPF added for daytime, it's the only foundation I wear. Have you ever tried it? If so, how would you compare it to the Tarte Amazonian Clay?
I have heard wonderful things but have actually never tried a Jane Iredale product. So, unfortunately, I cannot compare. I can only say that this is a good one especially if you like light to light medium coverage. ❤️
Hello Belinda. Oh I have heard wonders about the Elf powder! They make such good products. The price mentioned is the price on QVC with the brush but it will be the same price, without the brush, when it hits the Tarte website and likely ulta and such.
Would you use this over the Kosas powder for under the eye? Have you tried the Westman Atelier crème powder? I am curious how this performs. I have the Kosas and Saie powders but this one you reviewed peaks my interest.
I have not tried the WA But I have tried both the Kosas and the Saie. This would be lovely over them. This is more than just a powder. It is also a foundation. So there is coverage and shade to it as well. It would be lovely over those powders or even over a cream concealer or with a cream concealer on top of it. This could also be used to add a little extra coverage to foundation you are already wearing. It’s very versatile, finely milled and pretty. 💕

Hello hello hello! I would never ignore you. Do not be silly! OK. Let’s see here. There is no little hole in the back to pop out the powder unfortunately. I only have a measuring tool with inches so I am going to do a rough estimate on the millimeters. The entire pan is two and three-quarter inches which is, give or take about 70 mm if my math is correct. And the powder itself is 2 1/4 inches which is roughly 57 mm. Does that help at all? Very happy to send you any photos you need over on Instagram or whatever it is that I can help. Would look beautiful in a vintage compact.
Thank you so much! The compact uses 57mm pans, so it might be too big. I'm told it fits Rimmel Stay Matte, but I'm not keen to it. I still want the Tarte though 😊
I haven't bought anything from Tarte in years, but you've got me curious about their new powder foundation. The Fenty powder foundation has been my most reliable one. However, if Tarte has more shades than it used to, I'm going to check it out this summer. I liked the consistency of their old loose powder foundation, but I looked dead in the Fair and orange in the Light. I still use the brush that came with it 10+ years later. I may do the QVC thing for the pressed foundation so I can get the brush as well.
Oh Elizabeth. I think you’ll like this one. My other favorite is the Fenty. I feel like the shade choices are there now too. And yes, the brush is such a good one.

ooooo that's a tough one. Well....I'm going with Danessa simply because I always opt for a balm or a liquid over a powder. I can foresee, however, less issues with this Tarte. It's more straight forward.
It’s something about powder foundations. First I can’t stand the feeling of putting powder foundation. Regular powder doesn’t bother me. But powder foundations are usually “thicker”. So maybe it’s more of my speed. I bet it would be good to set other foundations too. Packaging is super cute

Exactly. That gem loose powder was very pretty but just a little messy for my liking. I love that this one is great for on the go touchups and the packaging is so simple and secure but pretty. This honestly is quite the winner of a product.

QVC is really fun. I realize it's not what it was but the vibe is still there and I think Tarte really relies on them. Old school but it WORKS.

But, the powder is delightful and soft and light and doesn’t cake. I cannot recommend it highly enough. I think you will be very pleased as it’s even better than the bareMinerals.

@@NotFitforPrintBeauty I've been wearing this powder for about 4 hours now and I think it is so much better than my mac studio foundation powder. I have large pores on my cheeks and nose. It really did blur and evened out my skin. I'm impressed especially with a powder. Tarte did good on this one.

I always use my DIOR Forever skin Veil SPF 20 primer and on top Powder no powder! I love this combination but I can bearly believe what I see! It’s really looks beautiful Rebecca!!! Doesn’t it feel dry?

I was about to buy the Fenty one in a darker colour for summer but I think I will get this one instead now. Only thing is I need to wait for Sephora Canada to get it - it’s not even showing as coming soon yet. Hope it’s not too long of a wait! Looks fabulous on you and I loved the Fenty one upon your recommendation so I’m sure this will be a winner too.
Hello Michelle! I love the Fenty product and I like this one even more but it is slightly lighter coverage. It is coming to the Tarte website soon and I think we will see it everywhere after that. I will keep my ear to the ground.

Hello Camille! I really like the One Size but can never find the right shade and have to mix two, which is a pain so I don't really use it. This one has more natural shade choices, in my opinion, and is lighter coverage. Powder foundations can be so pancake, on purpose. This one is really breathable and light. I think you'd really like it.
I've had this in my Wish List on QVC the day they first showed it. I was waiting for some reviews. I find it very hard to color match with a powder foundation. In Laura Geller I'm a medium, but in most shades I'm a light-medium. The first review that came in was 5 stars. Now there are 7 reviews and they're mixed. I'm sure I'll end up getting it Lol! Hello Judi!!! I LOVE Long Island. My father is a New Yorker. I think typical powder lovers might actually not like this as they kind of have come to expect powder foundations to perform differently, if that makes sense. This is light to light med coverage and undetectable.

Thanks for the review, Rebecca! I’ve never used a powder foundation, so forgive my ignorance: how does one best apply concealer with this type of product? Does it cake up if you put it on top of the powder? Or could I apply and set concealer before applying the foundation on top?? Help!! 😅
Hello Liz! This could also actually set the concealer since it's a powder. So you COULD skip your powder step. OR...if you get an oily t zone and really rely on setting under eye concealer, etc., you can absolutely set that with translucent powder AND then apply this over the top. But...the preferred order that I would go in is this: powder foundation, followed by a concealer of your choice, followed by your fave translucent powder just where you feel you need it to set the concealer. So basically, it's just the same part of your routine that any normal liquid foundation would be.

My HG for nearly 2 decades has been the Jane Iredale PurePressed Base Mineral Foundation. Other than EltaMD tinted mineral SPF added for daytime, it's the only foundation I wear. Have you ever tried it? If so, how would you compare it to the Tarte Amazonian Clay?
I have heard wonderful things but have actually never tried a Jane Iredale product. So, unfortunately, I cannot compare. I can only say that this is a good one especially if you like light to light medium coverage. ❤️
I’m curious as well. The Jane Iredale is the only powder foundation I can use on my dry skin. I pull it out during the height of the summer.

Hello Belinda. Oh I have heard wonders about the Elf powder! They make such good products. The price mentioned is the price on QVC with the brush but it will be the same price, without the brush, when it hits the Tarte website and likely ulta and such.

Would you use this over the Kosas powder for under the eye? Have you tried the Westman Atelier crème powder? I am curious how this performs. I have the Kosas and Saie powders but this one you reviewed peaks my interest.
I have not tried the WA But I have tried both the Kosas and the Saie. This would be lovely over them. This is more than just a powder. It is also a foundation. So there is coverage and shade to it as well. It would be lovely over those powders or even over a cream concealer or with a cream concealer on top of it. This could also be used to add a little extra coverage to foundation you are already wearing. It’s very versatile, finely milled and pretty. 💕

Hello hello hello! I would never ignore you. Do not be silly! OK. Let’s see here. There is no little hole in the back to pop out the powder unfortunately. I only have a measuring tool with inches so I am going to do a rough estimate on the millimeters. The entire pan is two and three-quarter inches which is, give or take about 70 mm if my math is correct. And the powder itself is 2 1/4 inches which is roughly 57 mm. Does that help at all? Very happy to send you any photos you need over on Instagram or whatever it is that I can help. Would look beautiful in a vintage compact.
Thank you so much! The compact uses 57mm pans, so it might be too big. I'm told it fits Rimmel Stay Matte, but I'm not keen to it. I still want the Tarte though 😊

I haven't bought anything from Tarte in years, but you've got me curious about their new powder foundation. The Fenty powder foundation has been my most reliable one. However, if Tarte has more shades than it used to, I'm going to check it out this summer. I liked the consistency of their old loose
powder foundation, but I looked dead in the Fair and orange in the Light. I still use the brush that came with it 10+ years later. I may do the QVC thing for the pressed foundation so I can get the brush as well.
Oh Elizabeth. I think you’ll like this one. My other favorite is the Fenty. I feel like the shade choices are there now too. And yes, the brush is such a good one.

ooooo that's a tough one. Well....I'm going with Danessa simply because I always opt for a balm or a liquid over a powder. I can foresee, however, less issues with this Tarte. It's more straight forward.

It’s something about powder foundations. First I can’t stand the feeling of putting powder foundation. Regular powder doesn’t bother me. But powder foundations are usually “thicker”. So maybe it’s more of my speed. I bet it would be good to set other foundations too. Packaging is super cute

Exactly. That gem loose powder was very pretty but just a little messy for my liking. I love that this one is great for on the go touchups and the packaging is so simple and secure but pretty. This honestly is quite the winner of a product.
