I was so excited he did this the day I got my first bottle of it. I thought it tasted like a muted Buffalo Trace. I prefered the mouthfeel of the Early Times, but I think the Buffalo Trace tasted slightly better (although it's quite a bit more expensive here).
@@peterkiss9075 Buffalo trace is too bitter for me.. I like sweeter bourbon and the chocolate covered cherries I get off Early Times is my favorite note. That's why I like most double oaks too.. I love that deep dark chocolate note. Buffalo Trace to me taste muted and bland with a bitter oak note. And yes it also to expensive here too.. its almost $60 bucks
People hating on the early times BIB and how Buffalo ruined them is funny to me because it’s still old stock and in all reality (from what I’ve heard) it’s because they were/are taping barrels into plastic totes then transporting them the Buffalo trace for bottling in the back of hot trucks in plastic instead of using stainless tankers
Just restocked my turkey and a case of 101 will last me about a year also snagged on some jack single barrel barrel proof and shuuuuiiiieeee she’s clock n 129.8 and it’s delicious with about 4-6 drops of water and a new bottle I added is michters small batch straight burbon it’s 94 something and Lordy it’s a tasty sweet dessert ish type bourbon also picked up some moonshine cherrys and banana pudding sippin cream by old Smokey 😊😊😊
I have to agree, I really enjoy the bourbon hunting videos because that's what we have to do to find bourbon. Make it more personal and real to see you hunting for the same stuff. Just my 2 cents.
Great video, as always. I always enjoy these blind tasting comparisons. Must be nice to still be able to get Buffalo Trace and Wild Turkey 101 for under $25. No longer the case in Maine in my experience. 😢
Sorry I missed the live stream. Life is 🤪 . WT 101 is solid gold for a daily, beginner, pallet warmer, night cap, or any other pour. Love that stuff. Superset it with Kentucky Spirit (not a $25 bottle). Just realized you're from Opelika. I'm form Blakeky, GA. It's about an hour and a half southeast of you. Cheers my friend!
Great take the last few minutes of the video. I've stood in a couple of lines, and it was the best! We're all there for something we want and/or like. The best comparison would be standing in line for a Heavy Metal concert.
I really appreciate all the info I learn by watching these live streams & the questions from the chat. I noticed the newer videos have chat replay - that would be helpful if we could see the chat from older streams. Please keep up the good work!
Just watching this older stream and they nailed it...Jill absolutely looks like Lisa Loeb haha! Good for you TJ. Just picked up Early Times metal cap and I have to say that I'm really liking it! Punches above it's price IMO. Would love to try the black plastic cap sometime to compare
You can find the basic Knob Creek in Iowa around 30$ it's conceivable some price if lower. But that's not the special flavors, or cask strength or anything.
when u do these blinds can u put the graphic up of your ranking and what the bottles actually are? so we can see it? Btw - still a solid showing you predicted 3 of 5!
I think you shouldn't be allowed to see the colors or dont have the bottles to compare the colors. It's hard not to lwan a certain way if you think it's something specific. Either way, love your content!
Gonna say it again...expand the content. Instead of doing a whiskey hunt all over be more tactical. Come to Sioux City Iowa. We've got tons of history dating back to being the national logistics center of Capones prohibition alcohol delivery. Doing a segment at the Whiskey Hole here would be a refreshing change of pace. It's a unique place that's got nothing but rare and top dollar bourbon. And you could get the inside track on all things bourbon in the region from the ownership...they are really great folks. I think it would be fantastic to showcase little known spots around the country and dig into history like their role in Capones operation...or the moonshining in Appalachia...the ales in the northeast...and the high mountain rye. This way you entertain in a new and more rewarding way while showcasing different communities...while also expanding horizons on the history of booze in America lol. It's really worth considering
Didn’t Saz buy the juice and barrels from Brown Forman with the Early Times purchase? Its BiB meaning at least 4 years aged, so from the purchase, til this day, its the same exact whiskey. People that say its worse are just in their heads. The mind is a powerful thing
WT101 wouldn't even make my list unless I was talking about drain cleaner. I can always pick any WT product in a blind cuz I get the same moldy bar rag that the musky dog died on through all their line up. Just has an off taste to me that follows something in their juice. I know folks like the WT101, but it's just horrid to me.
The rich stay rich by spending like the poor and investing without stopping whereas the poor stay poor by spending like the rich yet not investing like the rich
I never had the original Early Times but the new is not that good folks. Not sure what you are looking for. Benchmark Bottled in Bond whips it and the fool proof smashes it.. Wild Turkey 101 is not bad. I can see the Early Times beating Evan Williams.
Early times BiB is the best budget bourbon out there.. love it.

I find this funny because my local store has one bottle for $80. Imagine 101 going for that.

Agreed. No comparison for the money in my opinion. Pains me saying that cause I always said it was 101. ET beats everything blind though
WT 101 is always an underdog but always comes through! Best deal in bourbon!
Could not agree more!
WT 101 is the workhorse of bourbon. You get a pure bread at the price of a mutt
I followed your advice and tried that Wild Turkey for the first time and dang that is a decent whiskey and it didn't break the bank!
Got a Wild Turkey 101 last week and I love it!
WT 101 would be my choice but all good bang for the buck.
Early Times - Evan W - BT - WT four roses
I have to agree, I really enjoy the bourbon hunting videos because that's what we have to do to find bourbon. Make it more personal and real to see you hunting for the same stuff. Just my 2 cents.
WT 101, Buffalo Trace, Early Times, EW BIB, Four Roses
I sure couldn’t wait to get home from work and watch while sippin on an after work budget bourbon myself!
Great video, as always. I always enjoy these blind tasting comparisons. Must be nice to still be able to get Buffalo Trace and Wild Turkey 101 for under $25. No longer the case in Maine in my experience. 😢
I like the idea of running 4-5 of these with another 5 choices. And then doing a best of the best.
maybe each round, carry over the one that came second to have another fighting chance too.
I'm guessing buffalo trace, turkey and Evan 2nd and 3rd...knob creek isn't 19 bucks either. I like your take on prepping your pallet, too.

Bourbon and Cars is right up there to talk about!
I'm going with the 4 roses
Wild Turkey is one of my favourites
Early Times BIB.....is awesome !!!!

can't really find buffalo trace where I am in FL but wild turkey 101 is my favorite of all those other ones

Wild Turkey 101… done & done
In Iowa Buffalo Trace basic release is 40$ ish and uo.... Some small towns charge 15$ a shot

Monarch, you can get a half gallon for 20 bucks
Flag Hill Bourbon from NJ

I see two bottles on the shelf, but is there a reason maker's mark is never mentioned?

It's really worth considering
So are we saying OGD114 is more than 25? Because if it's in this list .. it beats every one of them.
Did you ever try the Rock Town cask strength?
Next time come to gulf shores with your lady, then we can go hunt some bottles to open on the beach. Love your content
Wild Turkey 101
Also, can u review the makers mark 2023 BEP? thanks in advance - great show!

Different blender bruh
I agree, Chatanooga is young, high malt and not something that I enjoy at all.
OGD 114

Love your reviews let’s do a EHT night

Why don't you have a review of probably the best bourbon for the price, wild turkey rare breed?
4 roses
Evan Williams BIB is very bland to me. Wild Turkey 101 for sure the top of this group.
Skip all those and get Benchmark Fool proof. Game over
Are you live now TJ
No we were not live
No way can I get or find BT easily. It's always $37 for me
FOUR roses FTW!
Buffalo Trace FTW
EVAN Williams FTW
Early Times FTW
Same juice.....different cap on the bottle.

What do you think of investing
Woodinville?

WILD Turkey FTW
Think about it. .... takes 4 years to make BIB.
I already eliminated Wild Turkey & Buffalo Trace in my mind - don’t care for either. Watching video now hoping it goes well.
damn to bad for you... wild turkey is easily the best bourbon in that line up
The discord peeps ought to be ashamed they left off Old Forester
Sorry man but your audio waxes and wanes. Pull the mike toward you.
