I just witnessed the length and breadth of this virtuoso Rita. A heavy jazz vocalist and an outstanding trombonist beautifully backed by talented trumpet and sax interpolating with Rita. No I did not forget piano bass and drums All GREAT!
Finally real music on a trombone and not endless licks and patterns. Just elegant phrasing, timbre and melodies from the heart and soul! What a delight! Thanks Rita
I love this young and pretty MUSICIAN. Her talents are way beyond her years. As said before, and the trombone was invented for her and the jazz vocals are amazing.
Outstanding performance by all! Rita's vocal is particularly nice on this tune. I have always liked her instrumental work. I think she's excellent in this small ensemble. Thanks to all for a kickin' performance!
Mil (1000) thumbs up to this song - love it here as I did on the stick! Fabulous rhythmic piece, and then comes the fugue - so f*ing good! Bravo to y'all!
Très bel arrangement, trois instrumentistes qui prennent beaucoup de plaisir à jouer ensemble et à nous le faire partager, c'est un régal! Une mention spéciale pour Rita dont les interventions nous ont vraiment plu!
A unique arrangement, maybe not for everyone. It swings, great jazz in my opinion. Actually, this is what make jazz, jazz. Great music, new music, great.
Marvellous! I like that bit of edginess to my jazz sometimes. Great adventurous arrangement and Rita smashes it as usual. Dig the fugue too! Love from Australia. ❤🎶🐨💜🎼🦘
Cool solo arrangement! I'm so glad another commenter referenced fugue. It made me think of a Bach fugue but I wasn't sure if I was right. After listening a 2nd time, it brought a tear to my eye! Well done everyone!
Absolutely out of this world. Congratulations Alba on your excellent vocal and trombone mastery with the song. Super Trumpet , Sax and Drum work. Finally what an award winning arrangement!
@@josephdcruz515 - If you are, like me, a fan of SAJB, I can understand that slip. I only don't know which Alba crossed your mind as you wrote. I appreciate both, as well as Rita, Èlia and so many others. I'd say Elsa's sister would come up first for me, since she was the first one I had the pleasure of hearing. I have no idea whether you'd be able to follow a radio interview in Catalan (I miss more than I get), but here's one with Rita: www.ccma.cat/catradio/alacarta/tots-els-matins-del-mon/rita-payes-he-descobert-una-faceta-nova-de-la-meva-mare-treballant-juntes/audio/1101911/
Definitely one of top ten music videos on y t. the shear musicality, arrangement, humour joy, together as a group. I guess a few av Ritas performances would be on that list. St Georges Quartet w José Delgado and Rita, Joey Alexander trio live in Indonesia...Fine and Mellow w Billie Holiday.
The album, Songs Nina Sang, is awesome (with two other YT easter eggs , "I wish I knew how it would feel to be free" and "I shall be released"). Not making it onto the album is a lockdown YT/zoom arrangement of "Ain't got no... I got Life", proving Marti is one of the great, most original Jazz arrangers alive today. We want more!
If Marti will forgive a link out (there are many links back here I put out) listen to a recent Rita in exemplary form in English... ua-cam.com/video/Vqtu0-Rsc-o/v-deo.html
Marti, you are an arranger of enormous talent and originality. You deserve a much bigger stage. Your team here is great and Oscar has proven himself to be a superb, brave and creative musician with his own work. Rita will be creatively, artistically huge. Her talented friend Lucia Fumero will struggle to be as big but she is unique and deserves much more like you. Take compositions from both and work your Marti magic on them. Put a piano sextet together using Rita and Lucia. I think you will be noticed.
This really works for me, and I'm really hoping we're going to see a video of 'I Shall Be Released'. Rita pulls off an stunning solo on the album and judging by this she may even better that, which will be something to hear. To hear what I mean, buy the album now!
Well, that was different! I *think* I like it, but it's gonna take a few more listens. But it sure is creative, and I'm all for that. And Rita does a great job, as always.
Welcome some sweeeeeeeet Jaaaaaaazzzzz !!! Cooooooooool !! Finally !! Everyone soloing at once like New Orleans is/was ..Counter-point ! Yeeeeeaaaaaahhhhhhh ! .... MDem
Lol totally dig the whisper-talk-sing, holy shit this is so epic, incredible arrangement, the exact idea I was trying to go for in my music but you totally nailed it
One of the challenges of Jazz is that the improvisation happens in the context of Melody that is no longer there. I am of the opinion that Rita does some of her best material with more melodic tunes. Not that this group wasn’t entertaining...it is a good collaboration. Nice to venture out while discovering....
I think the trombone was invented for Rita, she just kills it and her voice just adds the icing to the cake. Bach to finish was inspiring

Piano? What piano?

Thanks Rita
Rita Payes, small in stature, a giant in talent!
Wow Rita ! Way to shine. Heart warmig. Respect and admiration from Holland.
Wonderful to see Rita exploring new formats for her amazing talent. Keep going.

Unbelievably beautiful
oh Jesus ❤️ incredibly wonderful 😀, even the little "Bach" implanted 👍
The rest of the jazz world may not know it yet, but these are some Classic cuts. Solid group, top to bottom... anywhere, any era.
Très bel arrangement, trois instrumentistes qui prennent beaucoup de plaisir à jouer ensemble et à nous le faire partager, c'est un régal! Une mention spéciale pour Rita dont les interventions nous ont vraiment plu!
Just amazing job from everyone and Rita just gets better and cuter everytime!
Absolutely Wonderful Bravo Rita, Great Singing!!!
Thank you.
Marvellous! What a voice, what an artist!
A year later and still is a tip top turn on !!
A unique arrangement, maybe not for everyone. It swings, great jazz in my opinion. Actually, this is what make jazz, jazz. Great music, new music, great.
Te amo Rita
That was fugue-ing amazing! (Sorry, I couldn't hold that Bach)
Hand-el lost his grip and the inventor of the sacbutt screams from the grave, how can my invention do that!
Now that's a breath of fresh air, blown to an addictive beat! A solid, full sound. Keep it up!

Not Alba; that's Rita.
@@ClaudioRCFaria Thanks for pointing out my mistake. Rita, by now you should know how much I appreciate , enjoy and admire your outstanding talent!!

Me encanta rita tiene como un talento innato, como poseída por los jazzístas de antaño.
Ew. My winter doldrums just packed up and moved out! Great job! It did not escape my notice that this hung out there just a bit.
Xiquests!!!! Han arribat els Reiiiiiis!!!

Bizarre arrangement. I don't like anything about it. Obviously an effort that went astray
Actually derived from what Nina Simone does with this song on Little Girl Blue. Personally I really like it, but it's a matter of taste.
