I created a Tool Assisted Freestyle Competition in Rocket League

  • I challenged Rocket League players to come up with the craziest Freestyle clips and plays...but there was one catch: They have to cheat. This is the first ever Rocket League TAS Freestyle Competition. By way of the Tool Assisted Speedrun(or Tool Assisted Shot)Plugin, players are able to create unique and humanly impossible plays that you have never seen before. Unlimited Flip Resets? Two Wheel Dribbles? Record Breaking Speed Runs? It's all possible by way of TAS. Enjoy this collection of clips as players "hack" and "cheat" in an effort to make the most incredible play in Rocket League.

      @@SportsShortsA Absolutely it would. If you've seen what TAS is capable in other games with enough time people could get some really cool/creative 100 boost shots.
      Seeing infinite UFO resets and air dribble to mustys won't be exciting for long. (No offence to anyone who submitted by the way, I'd rather just see the creativity possible over the 'not humanly possible' aspect.)

    I think the exploration aspect it's the coolest part of TAS in my opinion, like the "juggle of the future" theorizing what it do be doable in games not long from now (although I've seen crazier ground shots from Evample in comps 2 years old, he just build different), or the "I think i just inverted a mechanic and by accident invented a new one" thi is the best use of this tool, as there have allready been examples like these in other games.

    Interestingly enough, whilst learning to dribble in free play I descovered if you use the “start dribble” button from kick off the ball is perfectly cantered, and as such you can with relative ease reproduce the balanced ball, that being said I can’t imagine how precise it must be to do it “manually”

    I always wanted to know if you could balance the ball perfectly on your car like that in the game, TAS showed you can theoretically do it without tools. This means you can remove all of the momentum from the ball and have it still in the air, potentially creating a vanilla game that lasts forever with no input needed to maintain it.

    I feel like naming this video "Tool Assisted Freestyleing Competition in Rocket League" would get a lot more views. I know I avoid pretty much all "modded" rocket league videos, and am alot more interested in "stock" rocket league videos (pro gameplay, interesting gameplay (demo gameplay great haha), free styling, montages, new mechanics). I don't like the custom maps, or "added/altered gameplay mechanic" type of videos.
    I am interested in TAL to see what mechanics are possible and what the future of rocket league could look like. I came across your video where I think you first talked about it, and realised what this was about and clicked it. But when I first saw it I ignored it, as I thought it would be something along the lines of giving playsers bigger jumps, quicker movement, more boost, more flips through modding, I just dont' enjoy that type of content.
    I'll also add I do enjoy videos about mods that don't affect gameplay, so like training mods and replay mods and what not, but not ones that change the gameplay.
    I could be completely wrong though, I guess you know what actually gets you views so I could be way off the mark here, and maybe I'm the minority and what I like is just different to everyone.
    Just thought I'd share my thoughts, but great video!

      @Rocket_Sledge  Рік тому +1

      You may be right, though that relies of viewers knowing what TAS is, I hoped to be more appealing by going with a more general title that still describes what is going on. You have to think of it as one hour to perfect the fastest time from picking up the ball to stationary and make a 6 second clip.

      Evample's shots are sooo overrated imo. The only point that back them up is the rank he hits them in. Sadly Henkovic is far more skilled at everything he does and hit way better shots at exactly the same rank.

      @@acct5910 Henkovic is on KBM too... There's nothing impressive about being on KBM. Look Gappled is playing on KBM too and he's one of the best freestylers in the world. Usually people who like Evample's freestyle aren't very familiar with the freestyle scene as a whole, and there's nothing wrong about that. I'm just pissed off that some SSL guy posting clips gets more popularity than some really talented dudes. Evample doesn't even consider himself as a freestyler

    Not going to lie, flip resets are so boring to watch in freestyle, so the input #1 was a real yawn creator. lol. Amazing submissions though. Dash Drift Dribble was epic!
