I asked players to make a ONE BUTTON training pack in Rocket League

What if you could freestyle in Rocket League by using only one button? I challenged Rocket League players to come up with custom training packs that can be completed using only one or two buttons. These "automatic freestyle" shots mean even a Bronze can look like a Supersonic Legend. With Season 7 introducing some new Rocket League training pack updates it is the perfect time to host a One Button Freestyling Competition. These 6 entries range from players that are Plat and Diamond to Grand Champion and SSL. In this video I will go through each automatic freestyling training pack and then it will be up to you to vote for your 3 favorite entries with the Google Form provided below.

Coming from Trackmania I love how this kind of resembles Press-Forward maps in a sense that you press one Button and your car does some crazy stuff.

Jokes aside, I actually tried making my own pack after seeing the announcement. And oh man it took ages to set up even 1 shot that doesn't even look good. Serious respect for pickled and everyone in this video honestly.

First one was amazing, others were cool but nothing tops that first one.
I'd disagree that Neptune's shots seemed simple, he completely understood the assignment and got a 130 wallshot without jumping. Too much precision needed to seem simple.

Fun fact: my entry for this contest was too good for the game to handle - I originally had a different shot in place of the turtle shot that was super cool and unique, but it was so complex that for some reason rocket league couldn't even give consistent results - It scored on my client every time but always missed for sledge.
I guess just more proof that sledge is a bronze, can't even score the goal when the shot is supposed to automatically score itself 🙄
So yeah, I had to replace it with the turtle shot, which is still cool too.
Imagine being so bad you even fail at automation? They need rank lower than Bronze for me.
Different maps have different geometry going up the walls, that might be the issue you were having.
@@jubjub727 that's irrelevant? We're both doing the same training pack on the same map, lol
@@PickledMelon bakkesmod can mess with maps in training packs so it's not guaranteed to be the same mesh unless you test without bakkesmod. If you tried without bakkesmod then it's likely an amd vs intel cpu quirk.
@@jubjub727 nah, I've had this issue with some other complex auto complete shots I've made in other packs similar to this, and had other people do multiple tests, including turning bakkesmod off. It's likely some very obscure thing such as a graphics card or cpu quirk like you also mentioned, or some other very obscure and unknown thing.
My jaw was on the floor after that first goal. Great vid idea. Sledge did it first. Congrats to all participants!

I liked the first few more then the rest but on the cool your voice and excitement dropping off I don't know if it influenced anything but I did pick up on it, just figured that was worth mentioning. It's interesting how someone's excitement can influence a viewers feelings towards something. I hope I'm relaying this right?

My first 2 votes were easy picks being PickledMelon and Niklas' packs for having unique shots using special maps and not straying too far from it being automatic by holding just 1 button. My final vote was between Mal and Neptune. Mal for having wacky and unique shots and Neptune for having clean simple refreshing shots. But I had to choose Mal even though any hybrid hotbox would've worked (I know it was a joke) and then Neptune beings an honorable mention.
Interesting note: According to Mal actually any hybrid wouldn't have worked. I think it has something to do with the suspension height on the Endo. Very small changes can be enough to break these.
@@Rocket_Sledge Woah, I was just trusting Psyonix when they put every car into a certain preset hitbox but yeah that makes the pack even more unique then.
@@Rocket_Sledge I can confirm that when I make packs like this, it does often require the EXACT car, not just a specific car hitbox, because like you said, while many cars share the same hitbox, the position of the hitbox relative to its wheels and the ground can be slightly different, and the slightest change can alter the outcome on some of these very delicately balanced shots.

Open net, Nearest to the goal speed, furthest away gets Eliminated. i.e 80kph, 8 people have a go, whoever is furthest away is gone. HMU for deets ;)

Hope this doesn't come off as rude but were there maybe not a ton of submissions? A lot of these felt like they only half followed the prompt or at least my understanding of it. Requiring timing or more input than just "hold the button down" felt kind of wrong. Still enjoyed the video, just curious 😅
Yes I only had these to work with (besides two I eliminated as not qualified for the video). I would have liked to see more "automatic" shots but I appreciate the work that went into each submission as the video doesn't happen without them.
I was thinking about commenting something like this but would be fun to try since I can't really judge til I've tried it. I'm sure people could come up with better stuff though
@@WhiteVipor Creating packs like the one I made takes a lot of time and effort to get the shots just right, it's harder than you might think. You should give it a try, and let me know how it goes :)
@@PickledMelon I actually did just create like 4 or 5 and I think they are pretty good lol. Bit harder than I originally thought but not too bad. I just moved the car first doing something crazy and adjusted the ball to it
@@WhiteVipor cool 1 touch shots like my turtle shot aren't the most difficult tbh, and you have the right idea, that's more or less my method, setup the car to do what i want it to do, then continuously adjust the ball until the car hits the ball the right way. It's when you get into multiple touch hits like my air dribble double tap and air dribble ceiling pinch that it starts to get very hard.
mal had some shots and they werent really the best but their very hard to set up respect

How to become a freestyler: step 1 - use 1 button training packs. step 2 - enter a freestyle tourney and realize u r still plat 1. step 3 - watch freestylers and ask yourself y u can't press a couple of buttons on a controller in a very specific order so u can make money and make it even easier to press those buttons.

Ah, but you're forgetting the that contestants all had a detailed write up of rules/suggestions and an example video from Pickled Melon. That being said, multi-binding was not a requirement. So in that way his pack wasn't all "wrong". Except the part where he did 6 shots not 3 of course.

They work but I think some consoles don't have the binding option.

Old Rocket Pass Wheel, can't remember the name but they were on an untradable tier and also do not come painted. So if you didn't get the pass back then you're out of luck (unless one day they add painted versions to item shop which does happen from time to time with old Rocket Pass items)

Hey sledge! I have a video idea for you! I thought that maybe you could do another guess the rank video. But there is a twist this time... you can tell pro players a certain players best shot like the mechanics involved (ex. flip reset musty flip reset double tap) and not show the pros the clip so it could be as scuffed as possible. That way the shot could sound like its a gc or ssl but in reality its a plat. That is basically it for the idea but i was wondering if possible if you do this video idea maybe you can should me out. Im really on the youtube grind as an old channel i had got deleted and it had 51 subs. Now im back to 22 subs. I dont care if you dont shout me out or anything it would be an honor if you even see this!
