Saudis are such great people. As an Egyptian, I really have a lot of respect for them and their culture. Abha/Aseer is also really incredible! Thanks for showing us these amazing footages ❤️
Saudi Arabia as we may not see it for a long time, far from the beaten track and mainstream media! Kudos to all the people who helped you on your journey, hoping that it is not over yet and of course thank you for sharing Doug. Greetings from Algeria !.
Perhaps anyone traveling around the world residents do not care about the visitor or the tourist / but in Saudi Arabia everyone seems to have the Saudi style of hospitality without discrimination, it is the only people in the world to welcome guests without an official invitation and it is the traditions of the original Arabs
@@saberh2981kami dari Indonesia tau, Saudi itu keluarga kerajaan sedangkan Arab itu luar cangkupannya. Itulah politik, siapa punya kekuatan dia punya kuasa.
A traveller in Arabia is called Ibn Al Sabeel which literally mean son of the road. Islam gave Ibn Al Sabeel a right in our Zakat money if they had none or something happened to them regardless of their ethnicity or religion. Arabian tribes even had a tradition that a traveler is to be received for three days without asking about his name if he did not offer it. The reason is the guest maybe from a tribe that’s not on good terms with yours or he might be related to someone who has done you harm. Arabs feared their emotions will affect the way they receive such guest and will make them marked as ungenerous, a crime unforgiven even with your enemy. The video shows a formal tradition of reception. It’s less formal these days but we still treat our guests with genuine happiness and serve them best we have, we know we’ll find the same in their places. Thanks Doug you’re an amazingly respectful person.

Hi doug , Nice video again gun shot means he is ready for help u and for called ppl in his vlage to comme in we have a gueest , at night when you see fire thats mean invite for traveler to rest or eat , its old Arabian traditional
This is a very beautiful video! I have a question! @14:13 why are some people greeted with a kiss on the nose, others on the forehead and others with a simple handshake? what is the cultural significance? I love KSA, it's a cool country! 🥰
Their hands were dirty from the gun powder, so they are doing a handshake with their arm. Kissing the forehead is only for the old people to show the most respect to them if you know them, if not, just a kiss on the nose or hand shake is enough. But some people just like to show the most respect greeting to the old people even that they don't know them well or not a relative. The simple handshake sometimes you recently met that person so no need for a kiss on the nose or cheeks. there is no common rule but it is mostly handshake is enough to show respect but if someone wants to show that he does not respect someone else he would simply not do any kind of greeting even verbally like SALAM .. or even if the other person raise their hand for a shake and ignore him meanly .. usually this is done if someone had a fight with another one and they met in occasion. so they show to each other that there is no respect left There is another greeting which is a kiss on the hand and it is only for the parents and the grandparents
Not exactly kiss its half kiss nose on nose thats when u meet someone in your age , kiss forgead only for old men or women , simple handshake thats mean he meet him before in same day

the hospitality is truly amazing!
that is true, very hospitable
True with hospitality but let’s not spread false info. The original arabs are not saudi. Saudi is after one family from 1932.
