- Eddie Van Halen and Dimebag Darrell Abbott were phenomenal guitarists the world was sad to let go. Shortly before Dimebag's death, they struck up a friendship. And at his funeral Eddie gifted his new friend an iconic guitar.

That’s such a boss move. And they only met and hung once. Dime was a huge fan and Eddie had respect for him and his work. I think that’s cool as hell.
The brothers always said “van halen” to one another out loud before playing a show. Their way of saying break a leg. It’s the ultimate show of respect and a classy move by Eddie. Legends

My mom raised me on Van Halen. She was obsessed with Eddie Van Halen. I was and still am a massive Dimebag fan. Have been since I was 11. Love the connection in the music and the players.
I first saw Eddie in Houston on my 18th birthday in a 3000 seat arena, what memories..

I was just literally thinking the same thing! But this has been public knowledge for years if not almost two decades now. I heard about this way back in like 2010 I believe. So you know people have already tried by now. So there is probably some type of security or something out there. But I wonder if that guitar is even still there anymore? Someone has probably already came and took it or something by now since this happened in like 2005.

I was lucky enough to see pantera and later on damageplan 6 months before he was murdered. Damn shame.
I missed the tour stop in my city where Pantera, Sabbath and Deftones were playing. I’ll never get over it. got to see Metallica twice when Jason was in the band at least and Sabbath in 2013. but never seeing Pantera will haunt me.

If we're all to be judged by our worst behavior when we're struggling, nobody would come out looking good. I read that the gunman was angry because Dimebag left Pantera. God save us all...
David Gale I think was is name. And yeah that was the reason he was upset. Other than being off his meds and having psych issues. The only solace is the cop came around the corner and shot him with a shotgun. 7/8 pellets from the blast hit the dude in the face and he was dead before he hit the ground.
