Forget U2, Thin Lizzy are the greatest Irish rock band ever.
Phil Lynott has been gone 34 years now but their music is timeless.
And I echo the suggestion for "Angel of Death" (and in case you get confused again it's a completely different song to Slayers one 🙂)

This is a Thin Lizzy ORIGINAL, 100%! There is a song by King Harvest which has the same title and has been covered by many artists (most notably, Toploader) but this one you're listening is written by Phil Lynott. The record company actually forced a subtitle (It's Caught Me In Its Spotlight) so that people wouldn't get confused with the older song by King Harvest.

It reminds me of "Spirit in the Night" from Bruce Springsteen's first album, as well as Van Morrison classics like "Wild Night" and "Domino." Check out those songs too when you can.

Yes. In fact, the song is entitled (simply): "Sarah"
and is the 2nd song of said title by Thin Lizzy.
The first one was written for Phil's grandmother (Philiomena's mother - If you don't know who Philomena Lynott is ...you need to do some reading, son!!) & appears on their sophomore album (with Eric Bell on guitar).
The one YOU are referring to is written for Phil's, then infant, first daughter and appears on 1978's: Black Rose: A Rock Legend album (which is the only studio Lizzy album to feature Gary Moore - Phil's first song-writing partner and old friend.).
"Sarah" [2nd/Black Rose song] is one of my favorites by Phil or the band and is BEAUTIFUL.
...It, also, demonstrates, both Phil Lynott's and Thin Lizzy's versatility, skill and aptitude.
      💜🤘🔥🤘

I play this as a Medley with Crazy Little Thing Called Love by Quuen. I love when Rock tracks swing. 1 of the Top 3 songs by the band in my opinion. Thin Lizzy are completely underappreciated and underrated in North America. Pioneers. For God sake, put them in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame already.

It's a Thin Lizzy original. That's why they put(It caught me in the spotlight) for there is a song called Dancing in moonlight.

Guthrie Govan - Wonderful Slippery Thing (a live version). He is one of the best guitar players in the world along with dudes like Steve Vai and Joe Satriani. You will be absolutely floored

Other Phil Lynott songs you should check out: Bad Reputation, Do What You Want To and Chinatown. Also "Out In The Fields" by Gary Moore featuring Phil Lynott. Gary & Phil were in a band called Skid Row together before Thin Lizzy. When original guitarist Eric Bell left after a New Years Eve concert in '73, Gary Moore was invited to join. He stayed for a number of months before Brian Robertson was hired full-time later that year, alongside Californian Scott Gorham. Robertson left in '78 replaced by a returning Gary Moore, who left for the final time in July '79.

The original “Dancing in the Moonlight” that you know is by King Harvest. This is not a cover; it is a different song with the same title. You should totally do DITM by King Harvest!

@Jamel_AKA_Jamal you are conflating two different songs together that happen to have the same name. This Dancing In The Moonlight song is a Thin Lizzy original! Thanks for the REACTION video, you can never go wrong with a Thin Lizzy song!

You might enjoy Black Star Riders. They began as a Thin Lizzy touring band years after the band ended following the death of Phil Lynot and featuring two classic members of Thin Lizzy. When they started recording new music, they didnt feel comfortable using the Thin Lizzy name, so they changed it. The music has a definite Thin Lizzy vibe, though. The song "Killer Instinct", "Before The War", and "When The Night Comes In" would be good places to start

King Harvest & Thin Lizzy both did Dancing in the Moonlight ... I dig both of them 😎
Thin Lizzy used a really smooth horn section reminiscent of Bruce Spingstein

Back in '77 high school era, we had the pleasure of seeing Thin Lizzy, (with Gary Moore), open for Queen...even then, respectfully, I was more of a TL fan. Overlooked by too many, who think of them as one hit wonders.
