I'm sorry how do you not know how a man is in the back seat of a patrol car 12 hours later? The cop has already been released from the hospital. Why isn't he saying where the guy came from? And if he was in custody, why was this officer going to a robber in progress? This story is not adding up!!! Unfortunately, we will never know. I'm sure they will never say anything more about it. And the family of the deceased will settle a wrongful death lawsuit behind closed doors!

I commend the female reported asking about pursuit & Code 3 driving policy.
You should ask for a copy of the driving policies.
I can tell you it is pounded into your head from the academy to drive within policy and safely. If you crash efforts are diverted to help you and not the emergency. Always brought up in department training.
All officers drive out of policy at some point it just happens. In policy you follow the rules of the road such as speed limit. When you exceed the speed limit you are required to activate lights AND sirens according to the letter of policies, it is CYA for departments. These policies are from decades of accidents and liability across the country.
When officers speed without lights and sirens they know they are out of policy. They assume that risk.
The Chief and detectives know more than they are saying. There is no way they don’t know the condition of the person in the officer’s back seat. Remember police can lie to you, but you can’t lie to them.
The Chief and Detective would have already listened to the dispatching of this call. They know if the officer was dispatched or not. No way they didn’t watch the body camera and dash camera. No way.
There is no reason for any officer to have any person in their back seat without dispatch notified. You have to notify when someone is in custody or you are transporting. Especially with cameras you can’t get away with unofficial rides. Every policy forbids high risk driving with an arrestee or a citizen in the car, and exclusion may be a ride along then depending on the type of call.
The reason they are being coy is this is an intentional investigation into the officer being in policy and they cannot violate what in some states is referred to the Police Officer Bill of Rights (HR rules governing officers).
I hope the media stays on this, it is absolutely nefarious no one knew a person was in the back seat of the patrol car. How did the officer not tell them? If he has been released he had to be conscious and able to speak.

You are correct on most of your points except one. It is not illegal to lie to the police. If you have been told your rights by a magistrate and you are giving a sworn statement under oath you cannot lie but if you are just talking to the police or giving a statement with being mirandized by a magistrate you may lie if you choose to.

To start it was NOT an accident. It was an AVOIDABLE CRASH.
Was it an "accident" that a person was locked in the back of police car that no one noticed for two hours?

They have to go through hours and hours of body cam and dash cam video to determine if lights & sirens were on??? It's ONE cop car with KNOWN crash time. Then again it took them two hours to find a person locked in the back.

The citizens are at fault for the crash if they were coming out the private lot and that officer is dumb for having someone in the back seat

He was at fault because he was speeding with no lights.

The police will try to find it that way. You should say why was the officer driving out of Pursuit and Code 3 policy. What was the roadway like as far as bends in the road, obstructions. The driver probably wasn’t expecting anyone going double the speed limit. Was it after dark, where the patrol car’s headlights on.
You’re uneducated if you want to jump to blaming the victim. For them not to know why someone was in the back seat makes no sense.

No sirens. No lights. Illegal pursuit, with occupants in the police vehicle. Cop traveling east on Cartwright (35-40mph limit) at 100+mph (high speed as car traveled 300 feet after wreck) with sun setting west. Just tragic all around.
