Some people still won't get it. I saw a video where a plastic surgeon talked about the discomfort one of his patients faced before getting the surgery. He showed before and after pictures. The surgeon talked more about the discomfort she faced before surgery than her appearance and people still made these comments. Some people will just hear what they want.
I want to get labiaplasty but I’m embarrassed to tell my mom. I have weird lips like one is really long and the other it fairly normal sized. Some difficulties I have is they’re constantly dry and very uncomfortable, they stick out quite a bit, wearing bathing suits I feel brings attention to that area because my lips don’t fit inside the outer skin, and it can be difficult to wipe myself after I pee, as gross as it sounds I sometimes have to separate my lips with my hand to wipe myself. Also, believe it or not, underwear constantly get caught between my lips and because of their weird shape and size I get sort of wedgies but for my vagina. It’s very uncomfortable and depending on the clothes I wear I feel it might be noticeable even in situations where i know it’s not it makes me conscious.
Julia Vaniscak wow I understand everything you said!!! We had exactly the same problem. One side of mine was long and the other was normal. I had to adjust it all the time. I’ve been thinking about it for 4-5 years and finally got it done last week. You know what? I am 30 years old and still embarrassed to tell my mom (I have a family business and my mom stays in my place). However, I made things up that I had to go on a trip with my college friends for 3 days (to get the labiaplasty done). Now the result (even still unclear) is amazing already!!
I'm 18 and having the procedure done in a couple months. I'm not sure about other people but I've always had a really open relationship with my mother. I started by asking if she knew what a labiaplasty or labial hypertrophy was (That's when a girl has enlarged labia minora, almost everyone who has the surgery has this) and then explained what it was and said that I had it. She was very understanding actually, you just have to bring it up slowly and explain. I think most people, at least moms, are more lukely to be accepting if you aren't having it done for cosmetic reasons. I'm doing it because my labia are so enlarged that it causes constant discomfort and pain. I can't even wear tight jeans or any form fitting clothes, and most of my wardrobe is made of skirts and dresses because it's so uncomfirtable. I also have constant dryness- it can help a bit to rub a little vaseline over the affected area, not too much. Just explain that it's causing you a lot of discomfort and making it difficult for you to do some normal things (like wiping). It might be embarassing, but she will probably understand. And, though not often, some insurance companies will cover some or all of the surgery if it's deemed a medical neccesity by a doctor. I had been having issues for years which were documented by my gyno, and we eventually decided the surgery was the best route. Insurance will cover a little bit of the procedure for me because I'm having it done solely for the functionality. Hope this helps you in some way, and good luck.
I can just say one thing right now, that this surgery isn’t just for people who want it to look a certain way it’s also for a lot of women that have to deal with discomfort every single day because of how long the labias are and it gets so uncomfortable that it can be very uncomfortable to do certain activities without the labias being irritated pinched pulled at, etc. I am turning 15 very soon and I am getting this done in the next few months because of how irritating it is and how long my labia‘s are it’s keeping me from wearing certain clothing that I want to and it’s keeping me from a lot of things. this surgery should be mainly for people who have a lot of discomfort or problems down there that they need to be fixed but it’s your choice unless you’re having discomfort down there there’s nothing wrong with having Labias that stick out it’s totally normal😊😊

I've had this surgery done and can definitely admit that biggest reason is emotional issue, all patients I have met with this issue like mine either felt gross down there, experienced some awkward situation or felt pain from wearing certain underwear etc. My reason was mostly aesthetics and also discomfort from rubbing as majority. There are many reasons why people have it done, sometimes for themselves and many times because of society. I would say more than 50% do it for pressure like they see innie and wanna fit, maybe their partner told them to get it done or told them it looks like she isn't virgin. This is BS. Teens are saying they have discomfort and pain because otherwise their parents won’t pay! Duh. This way if you do harm them, they won’t know or be able to stand up for themselves. I also do not buy that “their moms are always with them and very supportive.” My mom definitely was not. She acted disgusted with me and wanted nothing to do with it.
Jessica Pin uh.. i have pain when i walk in certain clothes and i cant ride my bike anymore. its not bs to me? it makes sense to me, so idk if you’re right or not. but i swear it causes me a lot of discomfort.
Umm excuse me. I'm a professional barrel racer and yes it does fucking hurt when I have to twist my body going around barrels, or when I'm trotting, but I can't do anything about it because I'm afraid my parents will say no So shut your mouth please, I'm tired of all the trash coming out.
I deal with this discomfort and pain everyday. I'm lucky to even have parents supportive enough to pay for this surgery (which is stupidly expensive)! I feel pain just from walking and doing day to day stuff, can't wear jeans without pain, running hurts. But yeah, I just want it to look "pretty." As if I know how that's supposed to look like 🙄
Well that’s different. Of course I can see how uncomfortable that probably is. But it can be hard to wipe, wear jeans or leggings (because the seam is right there,) run or do any type of physical exercise, etc. Like I said, it isn’t the same. And you can’t get mad at someone who would want this procedure because it doesn’t have to do with you.
Isn’t it amazing how wonderful it is for females to get excess skin trimmed off for a better life but for males to get circumcised to eliminate smelly smegma and almost constant sweating under the foreskin it’s an abomination? Even when wise parents know all of that awaits their infant son down the road so they choose for him shortly after birth circumcision which will prevent that from being an issue.
there are people who do it because theirs are truly very large and causes them problems when wearing tight clothes or even make them have a hard time wiping perfectly, or it gets dry, etc. and that's ok too
Surgery??? Easy, extremely poor solution to a vulva-obsessed individual. People laugh at you at the swimming pool? Stop swimming, take up Pilates. You cannot bounce on a horse? Stop riding, take up roller skating. Moms, fill your girls' minds with other things in life, tell them the meaning of life is not in how confident you are about your vagina!
Find a man who will love your huge labia and boys clothing. Or if you don't need a man, then the very idea of being unhappy in life because you can't wear tight clothes IS dumb! I'm sorry, you'll have to do better than that.
Dim Cherny dude, my stupid labia cause pain when I walk. Also, I like to dress in girls clothing, labia shouldn't bar me, or anyone from doing things they like to do. You telling me that girls shouldn't get labiaplastys for pain reasons, is like me telling you to not get a painful thing removed because "I don't like the procedure"
I am sorry you missed my point. It's not my business to like or dislike labiaplasty or anything for other people. I was simply saying that happiness is merely a state of mind, most of which is determined by the richness of one's spirit, being independent of missing limbs, large labia or the clothes they wear. That's all. Surgery is an easy way out.

I have a whole chicken wing under me and two hanging marble bags, which is a lot bigger than your libia probably like 50 times and I've never had a problem because I wear the proper clothes and dont try walking with my booty hanging out. Do I wear my boxers out in public? No. Would I feel like shit if i did? Yes. The more clothes I put on the better I feel because my kickflips are higher and im not scared of ripping my boxers because I have baggy pants over it. But you do you because society told you that wearing legit bed sheets for clothing somehow makes you look better but in reality were too busy laughing in our head how bad the girls I see have to walk around in heels at .25x speed. BTW DONT TAKE ANYTHING I SAID WAY TOO SERIOUSLY. ITS PROJECTED AT SOCIETY NOT JUST YOU JUST PUT ON MORE CLOTHES PLEASE...

I'm a professional barrel racer and yes it does fucking hurt when I have to twist my body going around barrels, or when I'm trotting, but I can't do anything about it because I'm afraid my parents will say no
So shut your mouth please, I'm tired of all the trash coming out.
I deal with this discomfort and pain everyday. I'm lucky to even have parents supportive enough to pay for this surgery (which is stupidly expensive)! I feel pain just from walking and doing day to day stuff, can't wear jeans without pain, running hurts. But yeah, I just want it to look "pretty."
As if I know how that's supposed to look like 🙄
Lucky horse
what ever, try having a knut sack and then tell me how it gets in the way.
If it gets in the way so much, why don't you get rid of it too?
Get rid of ur balls
Isn’t it amazing how wonderful it is for females to get excess skin trimmed off for a better life but for males to get circumcised to eliminate smelly smegma and almost constant sweating under the foreskin it’s an abomination? Even when wise parents know all of that awaits their infant son down the road so they choose for him shortly after birth circumcision which will prevent that from being an issue.
It *IS* for aesthetics. And that's okay. There's no other reason.
Mostly it's not only for aesthetics since it can be uncomfortable and prohibit you from doing daily things even as simple as sitting down
You didn’t watch the video, did you?
there are people who do it because theirs are truly very large and causes them problems when wearing tight clothes or even make them have a hard time wiping perfectly, or it gets dry, etc. and that's ok too
Lol you obviously don't suffer from any discomfort caused by them
...did you watch the video? 🤡
God your dumb, i bet you are either a boy or don't have big labia.
Dim Cherny surgery to get rid of pai or something embarrassing should never be looked down upon since it's liberating that person.
